Elorin Silentall |
Elorin will ready an action to inspire courage should anyone she sees as an enemy, attack anyone who she see as an ally. (If an ally attacks an enemy she will not inspire courage until the enemy has retaliated.)
She will not attack nor move until she has to.
"This should not happen at all, and most definitely should not happen here. Are you so eager to start a fight here on strangers land? Are you not used to leading smart men, more thuggish brutes? or would you rather attempt the challenges in this place and win your prize. Let the challenges be our proving ground, not a fight. A battle of whits and skill, not blood. We are up for a challenge, after a exhausting sea battle, are you ready? or are you sure we would beat you to the prize that you feel the need to fight us now?"
Thalas Lebarath |
Round 1
Thalas casts Divine Favor on himself, then draws his shield.
Actions: Standard - cast spell, Move - draw/equip shield
HP 27
AC 19, Touch 11, Flat 18
In Hands: Right - none, Left - Mwk H. Wood Shield
Conditions: Divine Favor (10 rounds remaining)
Azlain |
Suny, technically they haven't attacked yet. Don't swing first.
Azlain eyeballs the guard as he passes, but does nothing, simply standing face to face with the witch and waiting.
"If they touch him, you die slow, B!!$$. "
Seltyn Sevenleaf |
Talon Moonwalker |
I swore an oath that I would not strike the first blow, and thus far I have done but fire a single arrow at the hand that went for my friend. I will now lay away my weapon, leaving myself open to your blows if that is what you wish. Oaths and the furtherance of my people are more important to me than my own life, and thus I follow them
Realising that his temper had nearly caused him to break the oath to the Elves, he puts his bow back across his shoulders, and waits, hand on the rapier at his side, waiting.
Elorin Silentall |
Elorin turns to Thalas confused.
"What is a customer service desk?"
not sure what round we are on but if it is round 2 she will repeat what she did in round 1, ready and action to cast inspire courage, under the same circumstances. If it is not round 2 yet then ignore till round 2."
Thalas Lebarath |
It's still Round 1.
"A place where people with false smiles politely tell one to go to hell. They were quite the rage, once, until everyone else got tired of being told so. After that, the false-smile people were the first to go up against the wall when the revolution came." A bit of a homage to Douglas Adams, though not nearly up to his standards of wit.
Chainmail |
The bannermaiden holds up the banner as the witch steps back a few feet and casts. There are 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 mirror images of the witch plus the original shifting around in the spot previously held by a single witch.
Suny swings at one of the fighters and restrains herself as her companions warn her to back off.
The witch snarls, "The elf drew first blood, but he will not draw the last."

Suny |
Nope, Dm said "Suny swings at one of the fighters and restrains herself as her companions warn her to back off." I think the Witch is just being a b!tch and using the wide swing as an excuse/ploy to have her goons come at us. (¬_¬)

Spellcraft 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Wil turns his back on the Witch, completely exposing himself as he moves to stand apart from the witch and her fighters. "I'm surprised your going to press a fight in such a weakened state... Now..." He looks to the two brutes, fixing them with a steely glare. "Lay a hand on my comrades and you will regret it." He readied to heal the moment the blades fell, but not a moment before or else his healing magic would fail...
MA: move to K-30
Readied action, Channel Energy (Positive) 2d6 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8
Suny |
(^_^)
Suny continues to stand and act menacingly towards the Witch and her cohorts....Though possibly not having her intended effect when one considers she's wearing nothing more than a belt at her waist with which to hold her swords up.
"Grrr! Grrr!"
Elorin Silentall |
Perception/sense motive (do not know which it would be so rolled both. Ignore one not needed.)to see that the warrior is torn?
IF NOTICED:
"Do not step in if your heart wont allow it. There is an accord here and we must all do out best to keep it. To not violate this holy ground. You are a great warrior and we would be blessed to have some as strong as yourself by our side,BUT! There is time for fighting and time for keeping our word."She smiles comfortingly at him.
I am NOT aiming to get his help, I am aiming to let him know I agree with his choice and that we too are struggling with the same thoughts.
Chainmail |
The witches all cackle and it is difficult to determine which of the six forms houses the voice--the witches all point to Talon:
"Tell us the answer to the riddle, and we will let this one live. If not, we cut him down for his insolence."
The fighters wait for your answer.
Wilaml Fmelvam |
Sense motive 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Wil didn't like this. Not one. Damn. Bit. He nodded to the Wood Elf war leader noting the torn look on his face and agreeing with Elorin's words as this wasn't their fight. The Foxes started this and they would have to finish this. He kept a tight hold on his holy symbol, hoping that it would be enough and knowing that when the blades fell that Azlain would rip the witch apart.
Then he had a better idea, one that would test his resolve fully and may take his life. "Come now Witch how about this, your best man against me. I win and you leave this place, never to return. Your man wins and I will tell you what I know."
Diplomacy 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Azlain |
"You'd like that, wouldn't you. I'm willing to wait my turn. If not for them, you'd be dead already. I don't care about any of this, but they do, and I like them. I'm trying hard to turn over a new leaf, but I'm not there yet. Don't think for a second that even if you kill him that you won't have to contend with me. His challenge isn't mine. His honor isn't mine. Right now, the only thing we have in common is that we both want you dead."
Wilaml Fmelvam |
"As you will." Wil nods to his comrades, his challenge hadn't gone as he had hoped but at least he would contend with the greatest threat. He sighed and looked to Talon bowing his head to him. "May the leaves of your life tree never turn brown." He rolled his shoulders and looked to the Witch speaking loud enough that the monk could hear him. "Where can a challenge be settled without breaking your laws?"
Chainmail |
In the distance you can see the monk hopping from span to span across the improvised bridge. He will be there in about five minutes.
The witch say "we go now," and the spectral hand moves toward Wil. "It is on, boys, cut down the bowman if anyone interferes. I will not leave you dead, holy warrior, only beaten and maybe bleeding on the ground. You can respond in kind as your code allows."
init witch/Wil: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 221d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
I reroll initiative when both sides could have been 'delaying' for rounds. Anyone that is intervening can roll initiative too.
The spectral hand is reaching to touch Wil, and quite quickly.
Wilaml Fmelvam |
Law.
Faith.
Honor.
Resolve.
Wil looks to the foul woman grimly, completely aware of the foul hand coming towards him and readying himself for the worst. He says nothing in response to her boastful claim, merely focusing his energies on seeing which of the many images was the real her and knowing that he would strike true.
Waiting for my turn as I think I got the 14 in the rolls above :)
Chainmail |
The spectral hand reaches out for Wil as the witch encants. The hand is infused with dark energy.
melee touch: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 2 = 13
As the hand touches the paladin he feels life drained from him and passed to the witch.
damage: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4) = 14 negative energy damage.
"Yield, and you will be spared."
In this case, the Lay on Hands is ready immediately. Wil is not flatfooted. Wil is up.

spellcraft: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31

Yep, love that 21 int. Thanks, guys!
The SAD caster sees what's going on. Wil was attacked on peaceful ground, with dark magic! We must defend ourselves!
He won't say more until Elorin and Azlain have gone. A magical attack is a straight-up attack. The lines are drawn. We are blameless, sorta.
