Vael Oakfist |

Vael's eyes go wide as saucers at the hops. He barely notices the other items. "This... these... oh. I cou' make some truly magical beer with this."
He comes out of his reverie, then looks over Hamilton. "I kinna git help from tha spirits for what tha Lurkers did ta ye and I. Tha rest of these item be worth somethin', but be only useful for sustainin' us."

Dungeon Master S |

The coin is blank, as in it was cut but never stamped

Doxon Greyforge |

Would any of this help Trunau rebuild? Be more self sustaining?

Dungeon Master S |

Those knowledgeable in such things know that there's nothing overly special beyond the rarity. It'd be like having a japanese eggpant seed in Circa 1000 north America.

Raen Varkath |

"Couldn't hurt," Raen shrugs. "A diversity of crops helps the fields grow."
She surveys the plant life with a keen eye. "Aha!" she announces, plucking a flower. "Eat this, Hamilton -- it will soothe your stiffened muscles. Whole is best, that's it..."

"It seems like this room has been missed by the evil that is affecting the rest of the Vault. I wonder why?"
WP takes a quick look at the flower Raen gave the Half-orc takes 10 for 19 and gives Raen a Spock eyebrow, begins to say something but thinks better of it.

Raen Varkath |

Raen catches Whistle Pig's look, and winks.
Turning back to the door, she draws a contemplative expression. "Hmm." Pacing over to the room with the lily-pads, she carefully reaches out to touch the nearest one.
Will to Disbelieve: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 lol
She shakes her head, kicking herself for such a silly thought. "I guess this is the way, then," she mutters apprehensively.

WP takes a look at the room and is, for a moment, giggling. "this is like the game we used to play as kids. It's like hopscotch!" He gives everyone a big smile expecting someone to react the same way he is. When he get everything from looking of disgust from Raen to a pity smile from Hamilton, WP gets to work inspecting the area.

Vael Oakfist |

Raen and Vael discuss her master plan to get over the lily pads. The two finally nod and set the plan in motion.
The plan is:
1. Everyone in armor removes it so that they have no armor check penalties and can easily take 10 on Acrobatics. Except Vael, who keeps his on for the weight.
2. A rope is tied to Vael's waist. Ushyle takes the other end and crosses to the other side (Take 10 for lots, I think)
3. Ushyle ties off his end of the rope if he can. Else he holds on to it.
4. The rest of the party crosses, one at a time. Order will be: Ham, Doxon, Raen, Whistle Pig. The rope should help them not plummet to their deaths should the Take 10 Acrobatics not be enough.
5. Vael will then cast Levitate on himself, and Ushyle will pull him across.
Bonus: if anyone wants Vael to hold gear, he can carry up to 38lbs more gear.

![]() |

WP is a bit annoyed that Raen and Vael won't let him play hopscoth on the pads, but he shrugs off his backpack and hands it to Vael. He keeps him armor, sword, ammo and staff.
"Shall we get to jumping?" You can see the excitement it the halfling as he can't control his bouncing.

Dungeon Master S |

Understood...
The party makes their way across the lily pads carefully. It appears that they do, in fact, hold their weight. No accidents make for a quick pass...
Until Raen begins preparations...

Dungeon Master S |

As Raen begins her preparations a swarm of bloated f lies rises from the floor below and fills the chamber in a thick blanket of buzzing insects. While these insects provide no direct threat to you, their distracting presence does. It's a DC 15 FORT save, or be sickened as you attempt to cross. Quick confirmation for the remaining 3, would a -2 penalty to anything prevent you from Taking 10 now?

Raen Varkath |

Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Hamilton looks at Raen with a raised eyebrow.
Naked Maiden. Hilarious. I'll either be crapping my drawers tomorrow or depressed for a couple of days. Really? You could have just said, 'No'.

Hamilton Renaud |

Hamilton shouts to Raen
That's what you get for trying to comedically poison a Trunau scout!
Then he moves to help her land.

Dungeon Master S |

Map updated and rotated 90 degrees for ease of play.

Damn! It's FEY--we need to hit it hard or with magic. Unless one of you can crap cold iron.
I'm an idiot. I know the stories. I should have known to prepare!
Ham knows that it'll take Ushyle's heavy axe, a lucky shot from his sword, or Whistle's keen shot to down this. He needs to provide distraction and cover.
He leaps back onto the pads and closes with the Ultramarine Chaser.
Double Move. Let's give him something else to think about.
Ham claps his blade against his buckler, and yells, trying to get it's attention.

Dungeon Master S |

Hamlton's gambit pays off. The dragonfly turns its attention to the ranger. It buzzes ever louder and dive bombs Hamilton ATK: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27, the attack is swift, too swift to counter, and it takes a BIG chunk out of the ranger's shoulder DMG: 3d8 + 6 ⇒ (7, 1, 1) + 6 = 15 and tries to latch on Grab: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18, and does! Doxon Greyforge |

Doxon curses their luck and cringes to see Ham picked up by the Dragonfly. He had thought to shoot it down, but now fears hitting his comrade.
Doxon drops the crossbow on the platform and begins leaping across the lilypads to the Dragonfly and Ham, drawing Agrimmosh and pick on the way.

Raen Varkath |

Sorry guys, I don't know why I didn't think of this before.
Raen leaps back onto the wooden platform, the lily pad bobbing upward slightly in her absence. Underneath the lily array springs a wide and remarkably neat spider's web made of cables as thick as a man's arm.
Web directly underneath everything and supporting the lily pads. Should help in case the dragonfly drops Ham, and maybe even allow multiple people on a pad.

Dungeon Master S |

Hamilton thrashes, but even with a gift from Vael, cannot escape the dragonfly's grip.

Raen drastically lessens the danger with a well placed Web spell!

Ushyle |

Ushyle has taken Raen's admonition to heart, and watches the wizard place a spell strategically. She would do well in military matters, he thinks to himself as he draws his shortbow and takes a shot at the dragonfly. Sorry if this doesn't work, Ham...
composite shortbow, into melee: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 - 4 = 3
dmg: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
The arrow sails far wide of the target, and Ushlye mutters to himself about being overly cautious.

Dungeon Master S |

Despite his efforts, Ushyle's arrow goes horrendously wrong.
The dragonfly indeed drops Hamilton, who lands on the web below! Ham can make a REF DC 12 to hit the lily pad instead.
It turns and dive bombs Doxon! Bite: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24 for DMG: 3d8 + 6 ⇒ (3, 7, 3) + 6 = 19 With the drop technique working it doesn't try to grab.

Raen Varkath |

Raen breathes a sigh of relief at Hamilton's landing. "Just in time," she mutters. Seeing little else she can do to help, Raen concentrates on bringing the creature down.
