Whistle Pig slowly pushes his way to the edge of the cloud. Hamilton charges forth, but can't push his way through the ypotryll's defenses with a sharp enough angle to connect. Ushyle keeps pace with the ypotryll though, and seizes the opening. He finally makes a cut on a major artery. It's enough to overwhelm the massive beast!
Finally the ypotryll falls with a crash. The blood and bodies in the tower begin to make movement treacherous. The tower in the NW is now difficult terrain.

Now hidden from the dragon by its own spell, but still able to see and hear through her projection, Raen takes comfort as the cloying mists close in. She shouts into the tower with all her might, in the tongue of the Dwarves. "Tight quarters in the Gallery! There is a breach in the tower wall, one level below! Hurry, and you can strike the tyrant's rear! I cannot delay them long..."
Still, she does her best. An encasing spell the projection slings at the dragon.
SR Check: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (4) + 17 = 21
Doubt that will do, but just in case: Icy Prison, DC 24 Reflex partial. Helpless on a failed save, encased in ice 15 inches thick. Hardness 0, HP 45. On a successful save, dragon gains entangled condition. Either way, 15 points of cold damage per round. Break DC 30.
An instant later, the projection slings another spell... on the Orb of Dragonkind! The orb suddenly becomes slick with oil, and slippery in the hand!
QUICKENED GREASE on the Orb of Dragonkind. DC 21 Reflex save or drop the orb. I believe this save must be made every round, but the text is a bit contradictory and I could be wrong.

Volstus cuts down another elemental, but takes three swings to do so. The remaining two continue to pummel the dragon, which Raen hopes will soften its defenses for the cavalry.

I'm ruling that the orb will fall and roll as a missed improvised weapon, splashed object. The orb weighs 5 lb and has a range increment of 10'. I'm also going to say that it falls a distance equal to two range increments. So: Direction: 1d8 ⇒ 4. Orb is now on the map.
The orb hits the floor with a thud and rolls 20 feet northwest. Akazerath's eyes turn to the orb....

The remaining orc, unable to see what just transpired, at least seeks a noble death. He hacks at Doxon, hoping to take at least one hero with him:

Vael gapes. "That won't work, Raen! It's an artifact!"
He then calls to Lykophos. "If you can get the orb, please do it. We cannot let it fall back in Volstus' hands!"
The shaman then moves and with an invocation to the Spirits of Life releases a burst of positive enery that washes over Doxon, Hamilton, and Ushyle.

The cynosoma then pushes through the fog, spying the orb on the floor. With the magical haste helping her she flies forward, tumbling forward and stopping once she's atop the Orb of Dragonkind!

With the ypotryll dead, Vael washes the tower in a burst of positive energy, providing some succor for the Heroes of Trunau.
Lykophos does her best to get to the orb. She tries to close distance to the Orb, but can't avoid Akazerath's wrath. "NO ONE GETS THAT ORB!" The dragon snarls as it bites at her. The dragon has no problem pinpointing the cynosoma as she approaches: AoO: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (9) + 25 = 34 for DMG: 4d6 + 30 ⇒ (6, 1, 5, 3) + 30 = 45. The teeth cut through her defenses, leaving massive wounds, but Lykophos stands firm.

Hearing Raen's shouts, as well as Vael and Lykophos's exchange, Doxon ignores the orc and gallops the phantom steed forth, pushing through the dense fog to the other side, emerging next to Whistle Pig.
Taking quick stock of the situation, Doxon leans to the side, falling off the steed, landing with a thud on the stone castle floor. Taking Falling Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Doxon rises up on one elbow, staring down the hallway at the biggest dragon he's ever seen. He is finally able to lay eyes on the foe they've shed so much blood and tears to defeat. With a grin, Doxon says a quick prayer to Torag and slams his palm into the stone floor.

A ripple courses down the hallway from his hand to the Orb. As it reaches the orb, the stone floor rises up into a narrow slide, guiding the Orb down the hallway to his waiting hand.

The ghostly giant appears near the ceiling of the gallery. His unquiet ire turns on the Storm Tyrant.
"Usurper! Traitor! I shall see you undone for what you have wrought!" Renfal begins to play a haunting and obsessive melody on his ghostly lyre! Volstus now suffers a -2 on d20 rolls and damage rolls!
Renfel nods to the heroes who can see him, thankful for the opportunity to make up for his fate.

"No." Raen's stern chorus of voices cuts through the chaotic scramble she unleashed, piercing like a knife of chilling ice, commanding an end. "No more. We finish this, blade against blade, tooth against tooth, spell against spell. This evil device will play no further part, until our conflict is done."
Her projection touches the flagstone at its many feet. A ripple in the stone follows the wave that Doxon sent only seconds ago, moving towards the orb.
And suddenly a hole in the stone opens before the rolling orb, swallowing it whole, and then closing ominously shut.
Stone Shape of my own, with the intent of burying the Orb within the Gallery's flagstone floor, as deep as I am able. I have 25 cubic feet to work with, so I figure I can bury it at least 5' deep once accounting for the small trace to the orb, the orb's diameter, the stone needed for the opening, and the stone needed for the closing.
Catching a moving (and Greased) object is difficult, so I am including a ranged touch attack (to aim the spell at the right spot) and a Reflex save (to catch the orb) to pull this off successfully. For reference, the DC to pick up the Orb is currently Reflex 21.

Hamilton looks around and see's Piggie peppering the orc with bullets.
That's handled... Okay...
Then the roars of both Volstus and The Dragon shake the tower and Hamilton knows where the action is.
Let's go, girl. It's time, he says and then clicks his tongue and spurs Sammi up and through the fog. They emerge from the fog in the air, skirting the ceiling and staring straight ahead at the Lord of Storms, The Tyrant, and a flaming engine of destruction older than the kingdoms and countries below.
Get ready, Sammi. We're gonna make this one hurt.
The Divine Favor wears off, but that doesn't matter. It changes nothing. Ham readies the lance.
Fighting defensively as a standard for the bonus AC. Haste gives us enough move to climb to 20' high, putting our cube just at the ceiling. We are DIRECTLY above Doxon. I just put us in the wall to let Doxon have access to his pogs.

The orc has total cover from Whistle Pig where he was, so I moved him to a point with line, but this means only one attack:
Whistle Pig lines up a shot on the orc, drilling him in the head from between the remaining parts of Raen's wall. It's a heavy wound and the orc relishes the thought that it can still fight someone.
Raen swallows the orb, which gives yet another cry from both dragon and giant. None of her elementals connect with any of their targets.
Meanwhile, Hamilton moves in to prepare for the hardest fight of his life....

The elementals do their best to maintain pressure on the dragon, as the heroes' grip begins to tighten. The fire elemental scores a solid hit.
Raen's spell has an immediate effect on Akazerath, for all to see. The dragon slows down to normal speeds, and it's scales lose their stone-like sheen. Finally, the flames that had engulfed its entire body are snuffed out, though the air near it still shimmers with heat.
The elementals keep up the pressure. Akazerath snaps at one of them on the way in: AoO v. Blue: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (15) + 25 = 40 for DMG: 4d6 + 30 ⇒ (5, 2, 6, 6) + 30 = 49. Another elemental gets a hit, but even without Stoneskin the attack is muted.
On the other side Renfal gives a wide and ghostly smile. Emerging through him comes a very visible Hamilton and Sammi as well as an invisible Ushyle. Despite his extreme combat training, Volstus can't seem to capitalize on Hamilton, and doesn't even see Ushyle.
The wounds are terrible and the giant gasps in surprise and shock. Only the strongest, toughest giants in all of history could continue to fight.

The still invisible Ushyle slashes once across the side of Volstus's neck. Blood flows freely.
He then slashes again, striking the gorget to his armor.
He slashes a third time, hitting the same strip of metal.
He slashes a fourth time, and scores a matching cut on the other side of the Storm Tyrant's neck.
Held by naught more than the spine itself, Volstus - mastermind of it all - falls dead to the stone floor of the sky castle. The diadem atop his head flashes. A singular shake of the castle is followed by a low grumble.
On the other side of the battle Whistle Pig giggles - for he knows what that sound was, it was the foiled dead man's switch to the bomb.
There's no time for victory though, as an old and enraged dragon continues to savagely exact vengeance on all who approach.
Ghostly tears fall from Renfal's spirit. He sobs in relief as his spirit passes to Pharasma's embrace.
