Grym's plan will work. Perception: 1d20 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 13 + 2 = 30.
The Abadarans seem relieved to see a member of the Upturned Cup, even if it's for something such as this. A death in your party, they conclude, means you're getting something done.
Because of the nature of the times, their most powerful clerics have the spells you need prepared already.
The only question remains, how are you going to pay for this?
Dungeon Master S
Sorry man. I posted my AFK. Grym's plan totally works though. I just need to know what you're fencing and to whom.

[dice=Fort Save]1d20+18
[dice=Fort Save]1d20+18As the mantis' bites are numerous and their bites cause a little pain, none can get through the dwarf's thick skin. As the creatures dissipate, the dwarf takes stock of the situation.
The death of his friend Morkelb hits him hard. The dwarf falls to his knees shield and axe falling to the wayside as he drops his gauntlets and helm. His hands trying to close the wounds that the assassin's swords caused.
With a mournful heart wrenching tone, Sandor chokes a bit the tears are joining the sweat of battle on the unburned side of his face. For the second time he speaks to his battle brothers fallen body. I'm sorry brother. I wasn't observant, fast or strong enough ta keep ya out of harms way. Now I hope by the will of the gods that we can bring you back like we did Grym.
With a look down at the floor he sits back on his haunches palms flat on the floor he continues. Torag I know my prayers of been infrequent as of late, but my time at a forge has been limited. Help me bring Morkelb back to the living. He is essential to removing Ileosa and Kazavon's touch from Korvosa, and I will continue to provide strong arms and armors to those who will defend this adopted city of mine so that it may stand in defiance of Rovagug shall he come back again.
With is prayer over Sandor takes a deep breath, then raises his eyes searching for Gaius and Ferox's gaze. Gaius ya brought him back once, can ya do so again? Will Calistra aid us again in anyway? How about Abadar Ferox, anything he can do to bring our Brother back?
Yeah, no problem. Relax. He won't be... Dead-Dead for a week and a half. I just need diamonds. And he'll be weak, so more diamonds to restore him to full strength.

We definitely keep this:

I believe we can sell the following, assuming that we can "use"
Mask of the Mantis X6 = 18,000
That alone will cover the material component (10,000) and casting cost for a Resurrection (or for a Raise Dead + Greater Resto, both added together are 10,000 gp material). we could even throw in the balance as a tip. :-)
how' that?
Dungeon Master S
The Abadaran's accept the payment in stride. They trade the masks without so much as a sideways look. To anyone other than Ferox, that may be a touch odd. Once the gear has been taken by a banker, a priest of Chelish ethnicity coolly takes Morkeleb's body back to a small chamber. A full minute of prayers and enough diamond dust to feed a thorpe for a year weaves a spell of immense power.
Morkeleb awakes with a sudden sitting up....
The priest simply bows to Grym and Morkeleb.

I just need to know how the away team is returning.

The ranger says nothing for a few long moments, letting the wizard come to grips with what just happened. Bucho decides to fill the silence by nuzzling his big blocky head into the wizard's lap. The dog's tail thumped the side of the bed hard. The dog looked happy to see Morkeleb breathing, the dog almost looked sorry too somehow. The wizard died with the dog straddling his body trying to defend him.
Grym finally speaks You've been mostly dead all day. We had the Abadarians make a pill to bring you back. We need you to finish this. The ranger pauses a moment. Study up your spells and we go back to the castle.
Grym stands and offers his hand to bring Morkeleb to his feet. Once more unto the breach dear friend, once more...
Dungeon Master S
Nice amalgam of references, Grym. Just make the rolls to return to the castle and pick a room.
Morkeleb the Mighty
Morkeleb sits up on the altar with an explosive intake of breath, followed by a quick moment of panicked pats at his upper legs--where the Mantis' death blows fell. (fortunately, the wizard was not conscious for the second time he was brought under, being eaten alive by insects!)
after a moment, his brow furrows and he seeks out Gaius' gaze. He gives a slow nod. Thank you, my friend, for trying to bring me back. That was...an interesting sensation, and I will not ask you for the details of the somatic component for the spell!
He takes another deep breath, and gingerly hops to the ground, testing his erstwhile filleted thighs. All appears to be well. I even retain my spells. This was potent magic! He gives the Abadar priests a full-waist bow of respect and thanks. I trust you've been fairly compensated? Forgive me--of course, you've been paid in advance. I meant no offense.
He gives Grym a look at the comment of the "pill." Hmmm, do I taste chocolate? And, my fingers and neck work fine.
Once it's made clear that the castle awaits, he pulls out a scroll of Invisibility. Alright, let us continue!

NUNC EST EXPLORANDUM!
Where to?
Dungeon Master S
Same day so long as you don't opt to retreat and recover. (Normal risk reward applies. Get stuff back, but then the castle will likely know they've been infiltrated.)
Odric the Stout
Same day - go into the center room that is fogged out. Enter thru western door. Someone please place minis.
Gaius at door, Odric ready to run in, Mork and Ferox back with line of Fire, Sandor and team Ranger on each side of the door.

The doors opening into this enclosed area are made of wood-framed stained-glass. The room is furnished with sturdy tables and high stools, and numerous bottles, crystal goblets, mugs, and other drinking implements are stored on the shelves lining the walls. The air here is strangely cool and moist. A hammock hangs from the rafters of the chamber.
Dungeon Master S
This room seems to be empty. Morkeleb detects a slight transmutive aura in here, but concludes it's what's keeping the temperature at about "white wine" levels.
Thorgrym the Tracker
The party takes a quick moment to search through the various bottles and such. Make sure we dont miss any potions or mundane useful stuff.
Odric gives Grym a quick boost up to the hammock. Anything up there? Maybe from the hammack can find something on the ceiling or up in the rafters?
The ranger gives it a good scan.

it appears most of the good drink in here has long since been used up. There seems to be nothing in the rafters or hammock...

This open-topped catwalk overlooks a sloping section of roof. The edge of the balcony is hedged by a brass railing. The next room beyond opens easily too. This room is furnished with tables, chairs, and stools, and apparently was used as a place for servants to gather and rest while working on either the third or fourth floor. There are stairs down here.
Sandor Stouthammer
Sandor watches the lad admiring the cups. He sees one that was obviously a gift from his dwarven community. He longs to take it, but resists the urge to plunder from his own home city.
Thorgrym the Tracker
Do we head down or check out the top of the wall? There are likely sentries there.
Grym doesn't speak up. But if anyone asks him. He votes to go down to the next level.
Dungeon Master S
The party descends to the next floor in Castle Korvosa. The walls of this room are covered with tapestries and the ceiling is embellished with florid fretwork. A long table, perhaps a dining table, stands in the room, yet there are no chairs to be seen.
That's when it hits you. You look down the hall and your stomachs drop a bit...
This magnificent room is lavishly decorated with frescoes, mosaics, and hanging tapestries of crimson silk embroidered with gold thread. Three colorful stained-glass windowpanes present scenes of past kings and queens. A huge fireplace stands in the east corner, its mantle shaped like an enormous stone tree that has spread its branches up to the ceiling. Against the southwest wall, on a low dais of granite, sits the Crimson Throne, an iron throne draped with deep red silks and crimson velvet cushions.
Upon the throne sits Queen Ileosa. She is flanked by a trio of Grey Maidens, each with their hands on the leash of a Nessian hell hound. To her side is a Vudrani woman bedecked in all manner of silks and jewels. When the queen speaks, despite the 50 odd feet between you, it feels like she's whispering seductively in your ear. "Greetings..." If you survive this, you'll think back and remember that she said only one name, yours." "I've been expecting you. My, my, our meeting is long overdue. I have been
observing your progress over the past few months, and commend you for the assistance you have provided the people of Korvosa."
Her demeanor turns cold, "Your services are no longer required, and if you leave Korvosa immediately and never return, I will not seek your execution as traitors to the crown. Odric, my boy. Drop your weapon and become my new right hand. Replace Sabina and see all your dreams fulfilled."
Odric, make a Will Save...

Can I retcon a single spell before went downstairs? With Sandor fussing about his short legs and movement in the last fight. Grym casts LongStrider on the dwarf when we got back to the castle. +10' movement for ten hours!
If Gauis starts a spell, Grym will also cast Protection from Energy (fire) on Bucho

Ferox steps forward and raises his bow, aiming at the queen.
Queen Ileosa! You have failed this city! Surrender to us now and I will see you fairly tried for your crimes against Korvosa.

She did. Tis true, but Gaius's bold move is rewarded with a free standard action instead of forcing it into his initiative turn per RAW. :-)
