"I'm sure that he will be a reduced threat. However, this does not mean he will not be one at all, at least." Seren suggests, with regard to the sorcerer.

Drake Steelwind |

Excellent job on the scouting little ones, good tactical intel is priceless. Seren you would be correct in that I desire a straight up fight, and if this split attack is the tactic we choose then I do volunteer to lead the charge. My code and honor dictates that I not attack an enemy who hasn't been alerted to my presence. Though my suggestion is, whatever we do, we do it as a team.

High God of Krynn |

Indeed Drake would have to uphold the Measure in this circumstance. A Solamnic Knight would not attack an enemy when they are sleeping or attack anyone without giving them a chance to draw their weapon in defense. Drake would be obligated to alert them of his presence if he is involved in the combat. Still using combat strategy for the best chance to achieve victory is acceptable so you're free to set up any intelligent strike plan you would like to perform. Drake could offer them a chance to surrender as well but knowing these brigands they're not going to give up without a fight.

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |

My upmost task is to retrieve the elven items and bring this Pegrin to justice. The sorcerer's threat must also be understood and if possible he must be asked to study the ways of High Sorcery and abandon the practice of sorcery.

Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz |

"Drake, I understand you don't want to stab an unarmed foe, but are you OK with tying them up in their sleep? If you are maybe we actually concentrate on sneaking Terevalis over to Pegrin's tent. If we put him to sleep, tie him up, and show him captured to his crew, maybe we can demoralize them and avoid bloodshed altogether? Surely minimizing bloodshed (on both sides) is a noble goal."
If that works for Drake, Clara and Semus can lead Terevalis to his tent to subdue him. If it doesn't Clara's plan B will be looking for a good tree that she could climb and bomb from. HGOK, I've moved Clara's marker to indicate the tree that I'm considering climbing. Can you let me know if it seems feasible to her?

Serenatholos |

Seren pauses, then nods slowly. "Well, I know a few lullabies that might help make them drowsy..." He looks to Drake, sighing quietly. "You know, attacking when they are alerted is hardly..." He trails off, rephrasing it mentally, then continuing. "It maximizes the chance of injury, and harm, for everyone, them included. I think that Clara has a good idea, though..." He adds, smiling a bit. He absently wishes the Solamnics were ever so slightly more practical, but shrugs the thought away.
Turning to Terevalis, the bard nods slightly. "Dear cousin, I do not think it likely that you will convince the sorcerer to take up High Sorcery. You are an elf, and he clearly has no problems stealing from our people. Also, would you really want to encourage anyone to join the Black Robes?" Wizards, Seren sighs mentally, were so strange...
Also, the sorcerer was human. Did Seren notice anything distinctive about him/where he was from?

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |

Godly magic must flourish, even if it is the magic of Nuitari. The Orders must be rebuilt. The Test determines what Robes one will wear.

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |

Perhaps the Kagonesti and his plant could accompany us for added muscle? I am ready when we are ready.

Datura Oleander |

Datura seems confused. Do his cousins really just ignore what they consider their uncivilized kin? "Um, of course. Tying him up to make the others give up was my idea in the first place. I think we need to get around to the back of camp first, if that's him back there."

Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz |

"OK then, I'll summarize! We'll act together, to minimize the chance that one or two of us get surrounded. Thatsoundsreallyscary. I'll go first to point out the trip wire. Terevalis has to come obviously to make him stay asleep, and then Semus and Datura can tie him up. If Seren and Drake are waiting just a bit back into the forest, there's less chance that we get seen or heard but they can run to our aid if things go awry... and if we manage to pull this of then they come forward to intimidate the rest of the gang."
Her gulp makes it clear that there's a good deal of fear beneath her excited exterior.
"Drake and Seren, do you want to stay about 25' behind us?"
Stealth: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22.
I'll use any extra bonus from my roll to aid those behind me. I'll also wait if needed to time this around the guards' movement... And of course I make sure folks see the wire.

High God of Krynn |

Sentry Check 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Clarabibulus you have beet their check by 10 so you pick 2 from the list. One of the picks you'll need to make it to the tent. Another pick can be used to give Terevalis a +2 circumstance bonus. But if Terevalis is sneaking as well he also has to make the check (and beat a 10 on his roll)

Serenatholos |

Seren pauses, then nods slowly. "Very well. Drake, you and I shall remain some distance behind our wonderful comrades..." He smiles at the Solamnic, arching a brow before continuing. "Follow me, and do try not to make as much noise as you possibly can, would you?" He teases the Squire gently, eyes twinkling.
Which guard is currently drowsy from being lullaby-ed? I assume it is the one on the log, but I would like to make sure.

Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz |

Terevalis, where's your character sheet? I looked under your profile and didn't see it. I'm wondering what your (presumably untrained) Stealth is. It also just occurred to me that (though Clara wouldn't know this) sleep can be cast on an area from a distance, so you don't actually need to approach the tent, do you? If you don't then it seems you have no need to be stealthy; you can just hang back with Seren and Drake, and cast toward the center of tent (or whatever portion of it Clara saw Pergrin sleeping in).
Assuming that Terevalis can hang back, I'll grant my +2 bonus to Datura.

High God of Krynn |

The one on the log, although its probably worn off by now considering you spent time sneaking around as well as the time taken to discuss a plan of action. As for concentration, you moved out of sight of the man to talk to the rest of the party. I would call that breaking concentration as you're no longer keeping it active.

Serenatholos |

Duration is concentration, +1 round per level afterwards.
EDIT: Though if you want to rule he can't keep that concentration up for as long as he wants, I understand.

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |

It would be a +2 since hat is my DEX modifer.
School enchantment (compulsion) [mind-affecting]; Level bard 1, sorcerer/wizard 1
Casting Time 1 round
Components V, S, M (fine sand, rose petals, or a live cricket)
Range medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Area one or more living creatures within a 10-ft.-radius burst
Duration 1 min./level
Saving Throw Will negates; Spell Resistance yes

Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz |

Semus, nice roll! You should be able to aid those with us quite well!
HGOK, do aid bonuses from several allies stack?

High God of Krynn |

I would say you can't add the bonus to a character more than once as they are the same kind of bonus. Semus though more than easily succeeds at his roll. As for the distance to the tent that is irrelevant as I am assuming the party would circle around the camp and take the south entrance. The Stealth roll is just to see if you can reach the tent without being spotted by the sentries. As for the distance between the treeline to the south and the large tent it is 20 feet. 10 feet in is the tripwire.

High God of Krynn |

Yes but you have no Line of Sight on the man in the tent if he's your target. He efficiently has full cover and concealment so he can't be targeted by sleep (These are thick tents, you can't see through them). You could try and sleep one of the sentries. Using a spell does create noise so you also have to succeed at a stealth check to use a spell without any of the sentries hearing you.

Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz |

HGOK, the spell is area of effect. Could he just target the center of the tent, since he sees that?

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |

Tervalis will follow the kender and the gnome being as silent as an elf.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 Stealth

High God of Krynn |

Terevalis is able to make it to the tent without being seen. He can now peek inside and us any spell he wants to although there is currently a guard not too far from the tent that may be alerted if he tries to cast out in the open. (Even if the sleep spell is an AOE, it does not work through solid objects. Now if he used a spell that would affect the tent like Fireball that would apply.)

Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz |

Assuming that Terevalis *can't* get both in the same 10' radius:
If it doesn't seem like we can reduce this risk, I say just cross your fingers and roll the dice! (I'm assuming everyone is in position now, though I guess we still need stealth rolls from Datura and Awk.

High God of Krynn |

Ok you can wait until he passes if you like. He will eventually continue his patrol. I'll time-lapse the guard. The guard does not get close to the tent you're behind so terevalis won't be able to sleep both him and the man in the tent with the same spell.
Waiting patiently, eventually the guard passes by the tent continuing his patrol. Another guard could potentially see the tent further up but not likely from his distant vantage point unless you attract attention.

High God of Krynn |

Saving throw for Pegrin (With a -2 circumstance penalty for already sleeping) 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15
What is your spell DC Terevalis?
Not for the Waxing Moon. You do get 1 additional spell per day (of one level of your choice).
Terevalis tries to cast his spell and it almost causes Pegrin to fall into a deeper sleep. But then he jerks awake and looks around grumbling to himself under his breath "What was that?"
Pegrin's Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Fortunately Pegrin is currently getting adjusted after jumping awake and does not see Terevalis immediately giving him a chance to duck out of sight.
Pegrin then gets up and grabs the sword next to his bed and begins to head toward the exit of the tent.

Serenatholos |

Seren watches quietly alongside the Squire of the Crown, then speaks very softly. "So tell me, Drake, what exactly is your story? What Order are you looking to join?" He figures now is as good a time as any to ask, though he keeps his attention firmly on the camp, ready to rise up in inspiring cries if any danger should occur. He winces at Drake's attempt at stealth, as he clatters and clanks about. "Hush! Remain still, I beg you."
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

High God of Krynn |

Pegrin walks out of the tent. He's a hulking man standing 6 ft 6 with a thick black beard and carrying a longsword. He marches toward one of the guardsmen and yells,"Gerard, wake another two men for the watch tonight. There is something fishy going on. In my sleep it felt like something was trying to smother me. Its a bad omen and I'm not taking any chances. I want extra patrols of the camp as a precaution. And get that dammed Cole awake as well. If there is magic involved I want to know about it!"
The bandit says "Right away Pegrin!
The bandit heads toward one of the tents awakes two of the sleeping men. Two more armed men come out the tent a moment later.

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |

Can I wait for them to come together as a group and then cast the sleep spell from the scroll?
Since I have another spell I will have memorized Charm Person.

High God of Krynn |

Yes you can cast sleep, although Pegrin won't be affected as he has 2 hit dice and the bandits have 1 hit die so they'll be affected first. I'll make some saves for the bandits affected. This will count as your surprise round action though. Everyone else in the party gets a surprise round.
bandit 1: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10
bandit 2: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19
bandit 3: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15
One of the bandits passes out. The other two bandits shake their heads and say, "What the hell was that!"
Pegrin looks around in anger

Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz |

HGOK, are all positions on the map correct right now? How long has it been since I drank my mutagen?

Drake Steelwind |

Drake draws his weapon, presents himself and says
Bandits, surrender now, turn over the items that you have taken, submit yourselves for justice, and no harm will come to you on this field.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
*Casts Detect Evil* If Pegrin glows, Drake activates his Smite Evil on him.

High God of Krynn |

Indeed, Pegrin is evil, as are all the bandits Drake can see. As for the diplomacy check, it does little to convince the evil bandits of the fallacy of their ways. Pegrin yells, "Ambush! To your weapons maggots, we've got some Vermin to kill."
Anyway after the surprise round, the sleeping bandits will wake up, but will be prone for the 1st Round and flat footed for the 2nd round as they wake up and start grabbing weapons.

Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz |

"Great Umbilicus' unswerving umbridge! I guess this is it."
Clara gulps, and tosses the bomb in her hand at Pegrin.
bomb: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 9 - 2 = 11
Well, if his touch AC is 9, awesome, he'll take damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 and the two thugs who border him will take 5 damage each.
But in the likely event that I missed...miss square: 1d8 ⇒ 2...it lands in front of him to my left, hitting him for 5 damage but missing the others.
I assume there are stiff penalties to staying hidden when throwing a bomb, but with the darkness maybe I have a shot? stealth: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28
By the way, Clara's initiative will be 17 because her Dex mutagen was active, giving her +5 (not +3) bonus. Her current stats are on her character sheet.

Datura Oleander |

Datura acknowledged that things didn't work as they had planned, which is why he had kept his bow in hand for just such a moment. He draws and fires it a little too hastily at the nearest man, the one walking up around the back of Pegrin's tent. He then points to Clara, and calls to his friend in sylvan "Awd! Defend!"
So, the ones we see are the awake and standing ones? Except for the upside down one. Where we are at the bottom, is that where we begin?
