High God of Krynn |

Yes terevalis can attempt to charm the sorcerer as he attempts to flee as cole has a low initiative mod.
will save for cole: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Cole is almost affected by the charm but terevalis finds him more resilient than most against his charms, mainly as Cole is in a panicked state and is more interested in getting away from these strangers who just killed his employer and not overly willing to stay and talk.

High God of Krynn |

Ok top of the 5th round, Derg (adding +5 damage to derg for the throw anything ability. DAM didn't know Alchemists could add their int mod to splash weapon attacks.) takes 1d6 ⇒ 3 fire damage and is staggered by the fire as well as prone as he does the Stop-Drop-Roll maneuver to put out the fire. He is barely awake and badly burned. The bandits and the sorcerer seem to be in full retreat. The party has two options they can try and pursue the fleeing bandits in this case combat continues or they can let them go and end combat here and now.
The map has been updated and there is the positions of the bandits and Cole from last round. Most of them double moved to the north except for the one in combat with Semus who did a full withdraw action.

Datura Oleander |

Datura sees the men run off into the wooded night, and being comfortable that the big man won't drop again, moves around the fire to take a shot at the sorcerer. The man seemed to be of some concern to the others. Calling Awd to him as he does, "Awd, defend." He says to her, patting his chest.
When he gets in place he tries to line up a shot, and fires, but it's tough to tell whether he hit the man or not. If so, even if he gets away they can track the blood trail just like a wounded deer.
Round 4: (4th round after the surprise round, not counting the surprise round)
Free, command Awd
Move, around the campfire
Free, load
Standard, attack Cole 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 (+1 if there's still bard song, or ever was?), in case that hits (he doesn't have cover from my best corner [bottom left]) 1d6 ⇒ 6 (also +1 with song)

Awdrithicus |

Awd, in true protective posture, moves after keeper. When he stops, she continues until she stands between him and the prey they are hunting together. She likes when keeper hunts prey with and for her.

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |

In Sylvan, to the Kagonesti, If the plant is hungry perhaps it can consume some of these robber skum?

High God of Krynn |

The arrow strikes Cole in the back and he trips and collapses to the ground and cries in pain. He is prone and staggered from the hit. He yells out "MERCY! Please don't kill me!" in common and starts sobbing from the pain. Drake can see that the Sorcerer does not have an evil aura like the rest of the bandits.

Awdrithicus |

Datura nods at his work, before leaving the begging man for the talkers to deal with. First, he does correct Terevalis, The 'plant' is named Awdrithicus, and SHE, as she lacks a stamen, needs her humanoids prepared before she can eat them. The delicate digestion of a plant does not handle most of the manmade things typically not found on the wild animals she's used to eating."

Drake Steelwind |

Drake will make that known to his companions, gesturing at the sorcerer.
He does not seem to share the same evil in his heart as the rest of these lowlifes.
For round 5 (if we are still on rounds and/or when my turn comes) if Cole continues to attack and be a hostile opponent, Drake will move to attack him. If not, Drake searches over the body of Pegrin.

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |

Responding to the Kagonesti, Interesting a walking fly trap has tastes. Perhaps the Blue Phoenix is involved somehow
Approaching the sorcerer, Terevalis states, in common Tell me what brought you to this place and who taught you your magic.

High God of Krynn |

Pegrin's Death Save 1 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Pegrin's Death Save 2 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Pegrin's Death Save 3 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
By the time the fight Drake notices Pegrin is actually still alive (Made the 3rd stabilization roll) although he is edges from death. It appears to be dressed in normal clothing but has a key around his neck with a string and the sword next to him looks to be of excellent quality but bearing markings of the Dark Knights.
As for Cole he lies on the ground and sobs in horrible pain. When Terevalis questions him he says, "I...I was just working for them... They paid me to provide magical support for their group. I'm an ex-student of the Academy... that's where I learned my magic. Don't kill me please! I don't want to die!"

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |

Perhaps young one, you can study the Art in an environment with discipline and honor, not surrounded by ruffians. Solinari needs young people to grow in the Art. he says as he tends to the wound.

High God of Krynn |

Actually the Dark Knights are the closest thing to a legal authority in the town. Before the Dark Knights, the town was basically a bandit-aristocracy and neutral border town. The "Figurehead" of the town is Emilian Togh, the Mayor of Pashin who does the day to day administration of the government. Law enforcement is mainly done by either the Dark Knights or hired soldiers of the Mayor. The Dark Knights like to think they have control over the town but they control roughly half the town.

Serenatholos |

Seren walks towards the gathering, looking at the sorcerer, then arches a brow at Terevalis' words. "Well, perhaps you should. Though first, perhaps it would be wise to tell us exactly how you came to be here..." The Qualinesti smiles soothingly at the human, though he privately wondered what exactly was so dangerous about practicing magic not based on the gods. Beyond the fact that they were not as easily controllable, of course.
"And you are correct, Drake, we should perhaps return these to 'justice', but would we as followers of virtue recognize what the Dark Knights do as such? Would they even punish them at all? After all, we have only our word against theirs about illegal activities, and we did attack them first." Seren added privately a quiet question as to what exactly virtue meant to those among his companions, but set that aside for the moment.
Sorry about the lack of posts, but I have had a busy two days.

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |

They are wanted criminals who have stolen from the elven people. The elves should determine their fate.

High God of Krynn |

Cole says, "I didn't steal anything from the elves ok. All I was hired to do was to appraise the items for their value as well see if anything found was magical as well as translate elven writings. They needed someone versed in the magical arts to help them. As for how I ended up here, I left the academy to find employment in the world. Good thing I left when I did as I heard the academy was destroyed by one of the dragon overlords soon after I departed."

Drake Steelwind |

Drake turns to Cole I have looked into your heart and found there to not be evil within it. If you decide to repent for what you have done, and can dedicate yourself to the path of righteousness, not to mention abandoning the sorcerous arts and dedicating yourself to becoming a White Robe, the Knights of Solamnia are always looking for new additions to our wizardly branch, the Kingfishers. You would find a brotherhood and camaraderie like you have never known.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

Drake Steelwind |

To the group, I agree that we cant turn over Pegrin and Derg to the Dark Knights, they may give them a slap on the wrist or even a pat on the back, and let them go. If there is no uncorrupted entity in Pashin that has the authority to hand out justice, then I would say Terevilas is right, the elves will be the deciders of their fate.
Seren, you had dealings with the elves in the city, do you think you could contact them and explain the situation, then have them come out and meet us?

Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz |

The adrenalin rushes out of Clarabibulus and she suddenly feels quite unsteady on her feet. Her mind is a mix of elation: My fizzy bombs, they worked! and confusion: Real blood. Real death. This is part of being a hero...these were thieves and bandits, and yet...
"I need a fizzy pop!" She says to noone in particular, and drinks one down, letting out a satisfied belch. That shakes her out of her funk and she says, "Let's assess each foe, stabilizing the wounds of any that're alive...and tying their hands and feet. Semus, you have the rope. Datura, you have the gift of stabilizing them. I have neither but I'm happy to help as I'm able."

High God of Krynn |

Actually Drake from what you know of the Dark Knights, they are not too keen on deserters and Pegrin is a deserter. They will likey execute him, Same thing with Derg, they'll do the same thing to him as he is an associate. They are offering a steel reward for Pegrin's capture. Of course their justice is rather "brutal".
Cole says, "Ok I am sorry I worked with these bandits, especially after what has just happened. I will change my ways as best I can, although I can't just give up sorcery, its then only thing I am good at other than my scholarly pursuits. And Solamnia, that's on way too far for me to travel, especially since you took all of my money and gear. And it's not like I can just learn to be a wizard on the spot. The wizards disbanded years before I even started my studies. I have heard the old wizards used books of spells to use magic but I have no clue of where to find one. I have yet to even see a real wizard, if indeed they have returned. As for the white robes, they don't sound like my style. I had an admiration of Jenna back at the academy and red seemed more my style."

Datura Oleander |

When Clara mentions stabilizing them, Datura looks at her confused. "I am not a trained healer. I asked for World Mother's blessing to close Drake's injuries, but I have asked too much of her today. All I have left are the blessings she has granted me to take care of myself in the wild."
He has no points in the Heal skill
He only had 1 CLW
All he has left is his Orisons (Guidance, Create Water, and Purify Food and Drink).
Also, why I asked if we should wait until next morning to leave. To change out my spells.

High God of Krynn |

Getting a tome for a spellbook is easy, getting the spells on the other hand is more difficult. Spell scrolls are pretty rare on the open market in Pashin. If he is to get any spells he'd have to scribe them himself from another wizard's spellbook. There aren't any wizards you know of in Pashin other than Shaylin and a few elven apprentices. The Khurites are not known for their magical ability. Your character does not know if there is even a conclave stronghold in Khur, although Shaylin may know if there is one. In addition for Cole to convert from "Sorcerer" to "Wizard" he'll have to take part in a ritual of some kind in order to change his power source from Wild Magic to the arcane magic of the Moon Gods.

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |

Ok. Terevalis will offer to teach him what he knows, get a spellbook, and whatever else he can.

Semus Cloverleaf |

Semus goes pulls the rope hung across his shoulders and walks to Cole.
Turn around, clasp your hands behind your back
When he does so, Semus ties him up to the best of his abilities.
These are the rules, since we're not grappling, the DC to escape is 21 (20 + my CMB)
I think we should spend the rest of the night here, it's unlikely those that escaped would come back with no one to lead them, and we need to heal. He says looking at his own wound.

High God of Krynn |

Clara does the most straight forward thing and pulls the arrow out of the wound. Unfortunately Cole being rather weak in constitution cries in pain and passes out unconscious. While Clara is able to bandage his wound so he does not bleed out afterwards Cole is unconscious until he heals naturally or until he gets some magical healing. Semus is of course able to bind Cole easily considering he's unconscious.

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |

Can I go ahead and try to charm him after I learn my spells for the day with my extra spell?

Terevalis Unctio of House Mysti |

That is fine. I will be talking with Cole while the others are doing what they need to do.

High God of Krynn |

Its easy enough to find rope. One of the tents has no one living in it but has a sizable number of general supplies, mainly rations but also rope and other general goods. The other tends look to be sparsely populated and furnished. It looks like most of the bandits kept their things on their person. As for money from the dead as well as on Derg you find 12d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 2, 3, 5, 5, 4, 2, 4, 2, 2) = 36 steel. Derg has 6 daggers and a short sword and leather armor. Each of the dead bandits have leather armor, small wooden shields, short swords, 2 daggers, shortbow and 20 arrows. Whatever Derg had in his tent is likely burned to a crisp as the tent got torched by an alchemical bomb. The only other major thing is the large chest in Pegrin's tent.
