Ruprecht's blast scorches the doll. The odor of burning hair and melting porcelain filling the hut. However, the blast doesn't do as much damage as Ruprecht would have though. Suddenly, another blast of firey energy erupts from Lore's fingers. The doll tries to dodge out of the way, but the blast is too accurate. Wounded, but clearly not dead the doll teeters back and forth ready to strike out again.

"I don't know anything about such magics, but it seems to me that crystal is probably intricately tied to the magic that animated the doll. Maybe we should crush it, just in case the creator can learn about us through the crystal, even if the doll is broken."

While the quartz does have some magically properties, Grim can't make heads or tails of what its true purpose is. Perhaps Lorelendral is on to something, but its hard to say for sure.

Gathering your things (mainly the goblins!) you continue following your map and head west. Now deep into lands of the Linnorm Kings your journey is nearly complete. There is a Blackraven rest station along the route indicating an area of rest. The Blackraven's are an elite militia set to guard against Ice Trolls and over possible invaders.
It doesn't take long to come upon the station. When you find it you see a clearing where a large, grass-covered mound, like a small oblong hill, dominates the area. A stout wooden door is set directly into the side of the mound, while a thin trail of smoke rises from the very top. Immediately to the south is a wooden horse stable, all of its doors closed.

As you emerge from the cover of the tree's, the wooden door opens and a militia man emerges. "Greetings Pathfinders! We've been expecting you and your little friends here," says the militia captain with a smile. "Please come inside, I can offer you a warm place to sit, cold mug of ale, and a warm coup of soup. Please, please, come inside."

Everyone looks at each other for a few moments and says, well what the hell. A nice warm meal would be great about now. Now that the captain has said it, you can smell roasted turkey and spiced wine coming from the chimney.

Inside the building is a table set for for all of you. It appears to be what the map and the captain claim it is, a way-station. The captain is happy to show you the store room where the goblins can be 'stored' away while everyone else gets a good meal.

During all of this, Gimdoc starts to get the feeling that something isn't right about the Captain. But he can't put a finger on it.

Meanwhile, Kurma disappears easily to the stables. Before he can find a good place, he hears the sounds of humans putting on armor. The dining room of the way-station is spacious and has seats for you. The captain is accompanied by female officer. She helps set the stable and pours spiced wine for everyone.
Captain Enrik of the Blackraven says to Grimdoc, "No need to worry about them. We've delt with those goblin type many times before. I left a whole half of turkey and some warm cider. It should keep them quite for a long time. Please, sit. There is nothing to worry about fine dwarf. Say, wasn't there another of your party when you arrived?"
Enrik motions to have you sit at the table and blocks your way to the back of the station. It is clear to Grimdoc that Enrik and the other lady are spending a lot of time giving worried glances at each other.

Kurama:
You are easily able to sneak closer and you hear that the men are talking about, killing the goblins! Apparently they are under orders of the Captain to do so. However, they are a bit uneasy about doing so. They are moments from leaving the barn and heading to the way station to complete their task.

The Exchange

Half-Goblin

Both Ruprecht and Grim start full speed to the storeroom in the back of the way station. They can hear some type of commotion going on, but its hard to say who has the upper hand in the room.
Lore's bolt just barely strikes the female Blackraven in the arm, a large burn mark suddenly appearing. The male Captain lies on the ground, a pool of blood forming under his body.
