Kujo, the Slayer

Grim, I think it is that easy. But someone had to go upstairs to stop the Goblin from stealing stuff. Plus, if the goblin had failed it's move, it would still be in the room and you'd have to be in the room to attack it. my $.02

Arduino, and Kujo reach the Manor Outer Wall, just in time to see the skinny goblin squeeze through the bars at the gate and make it into the Busy Street! Moments later, Lore reaches the Outer Wall, shimmering with some type of magical effect. The Companions can see Ruprecht struggling to get down the wall (perhaps he is afraid of heights!). Meanwhile Grim and Kurama run outside the house following the sounds of commotion.
Initiative Round 2: Ruprecht, Kujo, Arduino, Intruder, Grim, Lore, Kurama
In the surprise round, the Goblin had already "moved" through the square. She only needed to take one standard action to reach the Wall. So, is has a small head start on you guys. I've placed tokens that need to move through a square on the left, tokens that have already moved through the square on the right.
Ruprecht Antillious

This isn't going well. He was already up on the wall, so now he and to get down. The elf Tried to get down the wall without breaking his neck.

Kujo, the Slayer

It was clear that the little she goblin was nimble like a greased halfling. The party seemed to be one-step behind her and at this rate, would have trouble catching her. This must have been clear to the barbarian as he tried to sprint out ahead by dodging all the obstacles in his path. But Kujo's foot gets snagged on the wall as he's clearing it and he only manages to land next to the escapee.

Grimdoc will attempt to climb the wall as follows...I am not sure how many actions this will take...but take his heavy wood shield and push thru the gate...( that should cancel the -2 for being slow) and then try to climb over. This may take awhile...
climb : 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (3) - 3 = 0
Arduino
|
A loud peal of irrepressible laughter escapes from Arduino's mouth as he hears the response to his words. Grinning widely, he attempts to squeeze through a break in the wall and isn't the least disappointed when he fails utterly and catches himself on a spar.

Ruprecht and Grim continue to struggle to move forward, their obstacles proving to be difficult. Kujo on the other hand vaults over the wall and tries to take a short cut through the streets to cut-off the goblin. However, he gets slowed jumping a wall in an alley and finally sees the goblin who is pushing by patrons outside a crowded tavern. She makes her way to where several carriages are passing by with Rearing Horses.
Initiative Round 2: Ruprecht, Kujo, Arduino, Intruder, Grim, Lore, Kurama
Once Lore goes, then the top of the order can go. I'll be running Kurama for now.

Lore already rolled to slip through the crack in the wall, so can I just use that roll?
Lore finds a small break in the wall and squeezes through if she can to get to the other side of the manor wall.
escape artist dc 17: 1d20 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 2 - 1 = 18
which should progress her out to the street and ready to take on the next obstacle correct?

I failed the climb check last round. Do I have to keep going until I pass that particular check, or after failing do I move tot he next task?
Kujo, the Slayer
|
Finally clear of the wall, Kujo tries to cut off the goblin at Nightsoil Alley shoving people aside and grunting at them to get out of the way.
Shove people aside 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 2 = 20

Fireball: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11
Kurama Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Sorry Lore, I think I missed your action. We should all be caught up now.
Kujo finds a short cut and quickly dodges around the croweded streets. Off in the distance he can see the goblin, and she should be heading his way.
Lore and Kurama are able to close in on the beastie, but as they close in they both can see the goblin reach for something around her neck and throw it at her direction! A sphere flies through the air towards the two adventurers. Lore tries to jump out of the way but Kurama is stuck, unable to take his eye off of the.... BLAM! When the sphere lands, it explodes in a ball of fire! The goblin just stands there in front of the horses, her eyes following the dancing flames.
Ouch! 11 points of damage! Reflex DC14 for half Lore. Kurama's Fire Resistance saves him, he is at 3 HPs.
Initiative Round 2: Ruprecht, Kujo, Arduino, Intruder, Grim, Lore, Kurama

Lore stands blinking at the fire for a moment..."oooh, fire.. pretty... ouch! as entranced as the goblin, but only for a brief second... She starts to make a lunge toward the goblin, then notices how badly Kurama is hurt. Knowing better than to touch him, she channels energy, healing herself and Kurama both. (excluding the goblin if she's within 30' and hurt at all)
refl save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
1d6 ⇒ 5
lore should now be at 10/16 hp after the channel, Kurama should be at 8hp
Kujo, the Slayer
|
Actually, Kujo wants to stop before he crosses the card his currently in. So he'll be right where someone is after exiting the previous card.
Kujo, the Slayer
|
Okay, so you have me on the right card. But I want to be able to attack the goblin when it enters the card and not have to use a move action to do so. So if I am standing where someone ends up after using a standard action from the previous card, then it's all good.
DrGabe
|
Sorry Ruprecht- but yes you have to pass the test to move to the next card.
Kujo- ahh, gotcha. Yes that will happen when the goblin gets there.
Its top of Round three- Ruprecht, Kujo, and Arduino may go. Kurama will delay his turn this round.
Also Kujo- make a Perception check and Knowledge Local check if you please.

Ruprecht tries the wall again, hoping he can get over that obstacle this time.

The rules say each card is 30 feet so the Goblin is 60 ft from me. Assuming the Perception and Knowledge checks don't reveal anything significant to this encounter....
Kujo, with a keen eye on the goblin, pulls out his sling and fires a bullet.
1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 4 - 2 = 6 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 added -2 for range increment
Ruprecht, you can attempt EITHER of the skill checks to leave the card you are on. Perhaps you are confused by being placed at the bottom of the card and thinking you have to use Climb? I believe you can choose to make an Acrobatics check where you are much more likely to succeed. Hope that helps

Yes, I am a moron. That is exactly what I was thinking. If possible, I would much rather try the Acrobatics check! If so, please allow me to substitute this action...

The goblin takes her attention off of the flames just in time to dodge away from the horses. Oh how she hates horses. But that will have to wait for another time. She tries to push past the foul beast with little success becoming trapped.
Kujo's shot misses the goblin and strikes harmlessly into the street.

Amid the bustle of the street, people bustling about extra-busily due to the brief excitement of the goblin, the brown-haired human adds to the panic with a cry of "OUT OF MY WAY, FILTHY PEASANTFOLK!" As the crowd draws into a group and takes in a furiously outraged breath, Arduino darts between them and after the little green creature.

Slypher finally takes finds the courage and finds himself falling to the ground, only to land safely in the bushes at the bottom of the wall. He quickly finds Grim tying to get over the fence! Lore and Arduino are able to get pass the growing crowd in the streets who are trying to put the fire out.
The goblin dashes around the hooves of the horses only to find herself in the path of a City Street Patrol! Kujo's missile attack is again off the mark and she hardly notices him.

Seeing a hole in the wall, the elf turns sideways and tries to slither through it, hoping the race had not been decided and that goblin was still within his grasp.
Escape Artist 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Ruprecht amazingly dipped through the crack without even slowing down. "You there, move out of the way! I'm on official business," he shouts, hoping the crowd would yield to his orders.
Intimidate 1d20 ⇒ 9
Arduino

Arduino's arrogant cry gets him through the crowd but he runs straight into a new obstacle- a crazed horse, prancing and kicking its hooves everywhere. Thinking quickly, he raises a hand and starts silently muttering, a fine silver mist appearing around his fingers.
Start casting 'Sleep' on the horse, 1 round casting time so It'll go off at the start of my next turn, DC19

Seeing Arduino casting a spell at the rearing horse, Lore pauses momentarily rather than trying anything stupidly risky... she curses softly under her breath as the fugitive disappears out of sight just as Lore gets near the out-of-control equine.
Kujo, the Slayer

With the goblin still in sight, Kujo fires again and then drop his sling. Kujo then moves to cover the grate the goblin will most likely slip down, drawing his greatsword as he goes.

Brother Grimdoc

Grimdoc realizing that he has all the climbing skill of a an armored turtle decides to take a different approach. Knowing that he entered the building without climbing the wall in the first place, he will try to find the gate or door and exit in a civilized manner.
If none are appearent, he will pull a rope out of his pack and start knotting it to throw to the wall to aid his climb.
Either way, he is out of the chase for a few rounds.

The goblin sneaks around a rug merchant and out of sight of the City Guard. She rounds the corner ready to retreat back into the sewers. However, she finds Kujo, armed and very dangerous. Seeing that his sword is nearly as tall as her, she smiles and raises her arms in surrender.
Plarg, I think we are in trouble now she says to a goblin sized skull that she is holding in her arms.
The Chase is over now, the goblin has surrendered (playing it as written in the module of course!). You may now all go. Assume that you can take time to get to the street where Kujo and the goblin are.
Ruprecht Antillious
|
The elf finally arrives on the scene, noticing that the large human seemed to have things well in hand. "Lore was right earlier, Kujo. Most impressive job. Have you found out what the little bugger's story is?"
Kujo, the Slayer
|
Waiting for the others to arrive, Kujo keeps his sword drawn. Ruprecht's question is met by a nod in the negative, but it's not clear if Kujo means to answer the elf's question or is just intending to intimidate the goblin. When it's clear the goblin has been bound and disarmed, Kujo will retrieve his sling and his bullets.
Lorelendral Teklet
|
Lore comes skidding around the corner out of breath and surprised to see all in hand already. She flashes Kujo and Ruprecht a quick smile, then turns a more stern look to the goblin.
"So, tell me, why were you in our house? What were you looking for?" While she tries to look impressive while she questions the goblin, her tone is soft and non-threatening.

The goblin stares at Pai, obviously scared of being questioned in the street. The name is Ekkie, how about yours? She says with a smile. She looks at the goblin sized skull and speaks to it Plarg, you might be right. They seem eager to eat us. The longshanks seem very mad. What is that? We are poisoned? If they eat us, the longshanks will die also?!? Well that will learn them! The goblin is hold a skull that she is apparently talking to and has a backpack.
Are you wanting to question her here or somewhere else?
Ruprecht Antillious
|
The elf knew that negotiating with a quite insane goblin was not a skill set he had acquired yet, so he waited for Lore or the others to take control of this situation.
Why can't we just find a simple lock to pick? Pathfinder business is difficult.
Arduino
|
"Little green thing- I think I remember you stole from us? Empty your backpack and we will all be good."
If she does so-
"Thank you. We will be nice now but if you try and rob a Pathfinder or a Pathfinder lodge again, we will take you to the town guards and they will throw you into a pen with lots and lots of horses and they'll stomp you to a messy, squishy death." *beat* "Bye-bye now!"Bluff:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

After a brief discussion, the party is able to get the goblin back to the manor where she can be questioned. As you entered into the estate, Venture-Captain Heidmarch asks you to interrogate the goblin and find all that you can.
You are able to search her back pack and you find the following items: Necklace of Fireballs (one activation remaining), Potion of Cure Light Wounds, MW Studded Leather, MW Dogslicer, Wayfinder, horse meat rations from Mariska Knackery (their logo on the rations), MW thieves' tools.
Now out of the busy streets and in the quiet of the house the goblin looks a bit more comfortable. But she isn't answering any questions.
Diplomacy or Intimidate check again.
OH, and nice one Grim that got a good chuckle out of me!
