Question about skill points:
As a 1st level rogue, I would normally get 44 skill points (+11 more at 2nd level). But as a commoner multiclassing into rogue, I only have 20 points at 1st + 11 more now for a total of 31 skill points, less than I would normally have at first level!
I don't want to sound like I'm b~%&@ing, but I think that lots of skills are part of the rogue's abilities (or "powers" in 4e-speak).
Any chance I can get normal 1st-level rogue skill points, or am I just screwed since I'm playing the rogue? :/
2nd edit: And are max ranks for skills 4 or 5?
Excellent question. Yes take normal 1st level skill points. Might not make a lot of sense but, most of the Commoner stuff helps define a background. I'll make a note to flesh this out better sometime.
Max skill ranks is 4 just to keep it simple and encourage everyone to spread out.
Hmmm, now I'm thinking of a level of fighter before I go into rogue (feats & base attack & hit points, you know). Will the lack of a real rogue starting off hurt us?

Yes, 1st level feats are class features. Everyone got a district feat as a Commoner and the humans got their racial feat. Now everyone gets their class-based feats. That means fighters get two!

Actually I was thinking that Summer may take a little time before the dinner party too study and commune with the fey and some such. I am also going to say that Elaine had some books on the fey and nature and that that got Summer started exploring it.
I'm thinking of turning Lam-ang into an archer... but I'm worried that this might leave the party weak on the melee side, any opinions?
A considerable amount of the adventure is "outside." Ranged attacks may be fairly common. However, if that is your sspecialty, then yes, the party will be pretty light on the melee front.
Profile updated to 1st(ish) level gunsligner. Of course now I just need to find a gun.

- Got rid of the spear and the short sword. I'll just use my trusty club for now, until I can afford a rapier.
- Bought an explorer's outfit, so I don't look like the wharf rat I am when I meet the lady.

No worries! Just update your character to first level and ask any questions you have.

Hey Dithering Fool, I hope it’s OK if I post this here. I don’t know if you have seen any of my post regarding how my work has also blocked access to Paizo.com. I thought I was going to have of drop out of all of my PbP games because 90% of my posts are from work. Well with a little helpful advice from some people here on the boards I was able to come up with solution. I don’t want this post to get to long so I’m putting “the rest of the story” under a spoiler button.
First of all Google.com is a huge help. With Google Translate you can translate from language “x” into English. This worked great for me except I could not log in to my account. Also, SurfControl’s AI learned to block me once I used each language one time.
What is working really well for me is to use the Google Reader. First of all I logged into Paizo.com from home. Then I subscribed to all the threads I’m playing in. I had problems doing this at first because my primary web browser (Juno) did not support this option. With Mozilla Firefox I had no problem at all. With the Google Reader I get to keep up with my games as all my fellow gamers post. I open a word document and write my post. Then, just before I head home, I e-mail the document to my home address. Then when I get home I spend a few short minutes cutting and pasting and I’m done! As a matter of fact, I’m cutting and pasting right now. I wrote this message (and others) hours ago. My work has not blocked Invisible Castle (yet) so I’m able to make all my necessary rolls.

Well two isnt bad. I'll leave it up to you. We can keep the characters the same or convert them to 1st level under the Alpha Rules. I can then post to get 1 or 2 more players. I think the best thing to do is start a new thread that picks up where the group left off. I have an idea that will use the last part of the current thread as good starting point.

OK lets convert to the alpha rules. The simplest way to adjust these characters will be to make them as first level but keep the same money and treasure. Essentialy keep the personality and rewards from our prior adventures but start the character as if brand new (keep the same stats but feel free to adjust skills and feats as nessecary) Also keep the free Savage Tide Feat instead of a Golarion Feat. Then lets give the charaters 400 exp to account for the adventuring that we have been on so far. Prat will become an NPC but I will still post him in a seperate post. IF we have three I will try to recruit two more players.
On second thoughts I don't think I will be continuing here. I'm not really in a position to read up on the new alpha rules and convert. Kudos for keeping the game going though
Work is rough on me as well, there isnt any rush. This will prpbably be a slower moving thread than others, but I think that will let us keep these characters going and still participate in some of the other threads we are in as well as real life.
Here is how I updated Prat. He will continue to be and NPC in the storyline. I have recrutied someone to play a wizard. Lam-ang covers our fightng "riddle" covers our rouge so we need a healer and maybe another fighter type. I will post a recruting thread today.
