Spore pushes the bullets out of his body as his wounds close up, and there's a tiny series of clinks as the metal fragments bounce across the floor.

"Wherever we go, let's keep moving. Best not get surrounded. These guys seem to just keep coming. There's no end to them..."

"Few bruises, but everyone is a lesson." He says smiling blood staining his teeth from a cut in his lip. "I will be ok for no, you keep what you have for when I really need it."

He picks up a med pack and replaces the one he just used. "I'll stick with the med packs for now."

"Good idea Lucas, we should use whatever they have against them." With multiple ways to go Ebon just points at the door the guard were in front of and steps forward to listens.

The door before you is locked. It is a heavy double steel security door. It is bulkier than the ones you have come across so far and feature a key card panel on one side. The guards you just fought did not have a key card on them before you ask.

Spore steels himself, unusually tense as they make efforts to get into the hydroponics lab. Midnight's word stick with him as he assumes a defensive stance, vines at the ready.

Readying an action to jump in front of whatever comes out, or jump on a grenade, etc, to protect the others when/if the door opens.

Ebon nods taking the medkit from Napalm/ "Thank you." He then follows the others back to investigate the other doors.

He stands ready, waiting to see whats behind the Hydroponic door.


The air in this room is unusually warm and moist, with a thin, pale vapor of mist clinging to the ceiling, causing the lighted panels to diffuse and become muted. Condensation runs down the walls along with a riot of unusual brown and green vegetation.

The moist, thick-stemmed plants and vines grow out of long earth-filled troughs along the wall, while a tall column of plant matter extends like a tree trunk from a circular planter in the middle of the room to spread a network of vines across the
mist-shrouded ceiling. A low humming sound fills the air.

A variety of scientific equipment from machines on the walls to tables with centrifugal spinning chambers for separating chemicals and sample crates lie scattered in the room.

A thin wire fence runs around the troughs and the body of a man dressed in civilian clothing - black jeans and a leather jacket - lies next to a control panel on the western side of the room.

Midnight lays a hand on Trystt's wrist as she passes, mouthing a 'thank you' and leaving her with a smile in return for her gentle healing touch.

She gestures at the plant growth and scientific machines, before heading on over to the body and investigating it.

Napalm goes to check on the man's body. "Odd, he isn't dressed like a scientist. I wonder what he's doing in here." He glances around at the lab. [b]"A hydroponics lab is where they grow plants with very minimal or no soil, usually to control the nutrients and study their growth.

Looking in the room, but not yet entering, Trystt asks Spore, "Any thoughts, Big Guy?"

Ebon steps into the room weary of what could be inside and how the man died.

"Hrm," Spore says, ambling over to the nearest vat and sticking a vine in to taste the mixture. He instinctively eyes the large growth with a curious gaze, before sadly remembering that he was still, in fact, the only one of his people on the planet, and one of the few remaining at all-- for now.

Focusing back on the task at hand, Spore gives another thought to the nutrient mixture.

Turning the man over, Napalm sees that while dressed as a civilian, he has a long knife in a sheathe at his belt, a hatchet beside it and a number of small throwing knives in hidden areas all along his body.

There is a very deep and angry-looking ligature mark wrapped around his throat and his eyes bulge in their sockets. His face is terribly disfigured, as though the flesh there has been rotted away by some horrible disease.

The control panel appears to control electrical current to the fence that runs around the potted areas.


Spore, you recognise that there is a large variety of domestic exotic and in fact alien plant life in the room but are unable to identify any beyond the most typical examples.

Napalm, Spore and Trystt catch sight of two of the larger plants unfurling themselves and actually moving toward them. One, a gnarled vine as thick as a man’s arm and bearing hand-shaped leaves, convulses across the ground in an unnatural slither.

Another, is like a huge mushroom that grows from a bed of tentacular roots. Deep violet tendrils slither out of the dozens of fissures in its pointed cap.

One of those tendrils lashes out at Napalm, causing a deep red welt where it landed while the hand-shaped leaves on the other quiver slightly and suddenly all of the plants in the room begin to animate and grow exponentially, twisting and entangling the group with their grasping vines and branches.

Napalm reels from the unexpected hit. "What the hell...?" He sees the plants suddenly larger and instinctively, he grabs a vial of acid and hurls it at the mushroom plant.

My bad, I missed that Napalm is entangled. That stinks for him. -2 to his attack AND -4 to Dex. So that's a -4 to his attack above, and a -2 to his damage.

Trystt rushes to the control panel to try to turn on(or up) the current running through the fence.

Trystt rushes to the control panel and starts punching buttons but nothing seems to happen. She then notices that wires have been torn from the back seemingly to deliberately deactivate the electric fences that kept these dangerous plants in check.

Trystt gives a small kick to the corpse with a mumbled, "Idiot." As she moves toward the door, she sucks some of moisture out of the air and throws a ball of ice at the large plant creature. "Maybe we should just leave and shut the door for now," she suggests.

Sorry guys, busy couple of days.

Napalm's bomb erupts among the fronds of the giant fungi. It writhes in response, trying to get away from the burning flames.

Ebon strikes out at the larger plant. Without an anatomy, he just aims for the densest collection of vines while a bolt of electricity and a ball of compacted ice hurtle over his shoulder, delivered by Midnight and Trystt.

Trystt you don't seem to have rolled your attack or damage

Spore makes his way through the entangling vines, fighting back the urge to feel comforted as he focuses on the poor, corrupted plants. He silently offers a prayer to the spirits of the plants, apologizing for whatever's been done to them, and what he's about to do.

Double move through difficult terrain to get to Ebon's side and open up the doorway for egress is people want. My 20' speed and difficult terrain+no 5' steps makes moving hard!


Round 1 - Enemy

The larger plant lashes out at Ebon, it's thick vines trying to wrap around his neck in the same way as they did the corpse on the ground. He ducks the first and then raises his arm to the second where the vine lashes painfully but without permanent damage.

The purple fungus, burnt and bloated from Napalm's bomb and Midnight's blast, writhes and sends a storm of tendrils rushing out toward Napalm. They don't strike with force but where they settle on his skin he finds himself reeling from angry red welts.

You're right. That's his base stats, but I put spoilered AC and saves with his mutagen. Not sure if that's the best way to do it. His mutagen only lasts 30 minutes, but then he can brew another in an hour. How long has it been since we entered the complex?

Spore purposefully trudges through the vines as he makes his way to the remaining plant as best he can, stepping in between it and the others to try and stop the plant from fighting. He calls out to it as he does, seemingly pleading with it, though he's not hopeful it'll do any good.

Double move to get there. Proving an AoO if it gets them. Asking it to stop before it gets hurt in my Native Language, which I guess we never really defined. Not sure if it'll do any good, but it makes sense to try!
