Overlord Jon |
Getting to the bottom of the ladder proved to be thankfully simple. t descended to the midpoint of an avenue where the Tech-Priests of the Hive would walk in holy procession. The main doors stood open, gunfire flashing inside, while a small building to the side of the doors sat dark and apparently empty.
Overlord Jon |
Vasyl Zima |
Vasyl eyes the weapons of the skitari as he enters the room. And then the pict viewers, to get intel. He moves towards the next door, planning to use the doorframe as cover.
Erkan Vaughan |
Erkan kneels down at the bodies by the main door. Checking over the wounds, he looks up to the others. "Shot in the back. It is possible they had traitors amongst their numbers. Either than, or the heretical forces infiltrated the building and caught them by surprise. Be on your guard."
He also takes stock of the skitarii's weapons, knowing they frequently carry advanced armaments.
Hieronymous Bahrenfahrer |
Heironymous rushes over to the intern, fingers and data-jacks clicking and clacking to work out what had happened here.

EDIT: Fate point reroll - Tech Use (36?): 1d100 ⇒ 99
Overlord Jon |
Remember to keep both hit point and fate points up to date, folks.
I shall get a map up in a bit - work is kicking me in the ass, and slowing me down a bit.
A grand set of doors stood at the back of the entrance, the skull and cog symbol of the Omnissiah on each side.
Vasyl Zima |
Vasyl will keep moving from cover to cover, ready to start shooting as soon as he sees anyone suspicious.
I doubt any loyalists are left alive at this stage.
Overlord Jon |
Atmospherics map is up. Sorry for the delay.
As the group moved towards the double door, the sodden lump that was once a combat servitor stirred. "ProTec-Tec-Tec theShrenene..." Rising onto its legs fully, the Servitor turned...and collapsed in a heap. Perhaps it was simply a stray bit of programming. Or maybe it was a final request from its dying spirit.
The room beyond the double doors is covered in script, sacred plans and data files scrolling on pict screens. The cog and skull symbol forms the floor of this room.
Doors to the North, East and South sit in the walls. Gun fire can be heard from the Northern Chamber.
Vasyl Zima |
Tech Use 38: 1d100 ⇒ 37
Vasyl glances over the data and quickly states:
"The Shrine reactor is straining from *something*, and the contamination filters were shut down. Gunfire from the north. I say we go that way unless someone knows a better route."
Running in alone to gunfire - generally a bad idea.
Erkan Vaughan |
As they push forward into the chamber, Erkan takes up a position near the North door next to Vasyl, peering through, ready for a threat to emerge.
to clarify, are these doors open or closed?
Vasyl Zima |
Time to let Praetus do his thing.
Vasyl moves to the north door and readies himself to open it when Praetus' count reaches zero.
Overlord Jon |
The door to north opened to reveal a scene of carnage. It appears to be a maitence bay of some kind, with tools and heavy machinery littering a number of benches.
Several servitors lay around the room, most of them in pieces. Some of them in several pieces. Two still stand, trying to strike at a towering figure between. A vast suit of armour covers the creatures form, although one legs seems to be a tree trunk and an arm a thick branch of some kind. Strange fluid wheeps from the joins of the armour and the air smells of the strench of a greenhouse left to rot. A massive bolter sits in its other fist, although it doesn't seem inclined to use it. Instead the tree branch whips out, tearing one one of the servitors in half.
At the moment, the figure seems focused on finishing the Servitor. A door in the east wall gives another destination.
Praetus Kyros |
Praetus bows his head for a second and launches himself into the room, His intent it to engage the monstrosity and keep it turned away from the door.

If Lothar is in the doorway. The map has been updated.
The Traitor's head snapped forward and turned momentarily to look at what had happened. [b]"Await your turn to feel the Grandfather's blessings."[ /b] The branch ripped into the remaining servitor and pulled out a large chunk of machinery.
As the servitor fell the Traitor turned, moving slowly. It became obvious that he was weakened by the fight with the Servitors, and his leg seemed to be locked in place.

The enemy marine grunted as Prateus' blade bit deep into its chest, looking down in bemusement as the tainted fluids leaked from the wounds. "Not bad. You will make a fine addition to the family."
Erkan's lashot also made him shudder, although the armour and the monsters unnatural toughness seemed to absorb a lot of the harm.
The tentacle-like wines lashed out at Praetus in response to the attack, and raised the monstrous barrel of the bolter at the approaching Vasyl. The shell screamed from the barrel with an unholy noise.

I do apologise team, for some reason I wasn't getting 'new post' notifications for this game, but I am still here and will assist as possible.
"Slay the foul heretic, that the machine spirits may be appeased!" Heironymous screams out, a crazed look in his eye as he takes in the horror that is the Traitor Marine.
He brings up his shotgun as he runs through the doorway, ready to blast the beast.

I totally missed that Aeanarius posted before I did. Dang it.
The grenade and shotgun blast wreak havoc on the fallen paragon, shredding his helmet and chest armour.
1d10 ⇒ 8
The shotgun blast punches even the towering figure to the ground, blood erupting from his mouth as several organs rupture. Or at least something that looks like blood, as it is thicker and darker than anything a human should produce.
Still, the vile creature is not dead enough and drags itself back to its feet with a scream of tormented metal and overburdened servos. It raised its pistol at the source of that Krak grenade, Vasyl, and pulled the trigger.

Behind the ruined helm a loot of astonishment shows when the trigger comes down and only a cloud of smoke erupts from the barrel of the pistol.

That was too close.

"And scrag you too!"
While he swiftly aims and fires a round at the traitor.
