Just that there was some gathering of... import. Vamp coming to beloved Venice by sea. Ghost (foreign) and these folk... vsiting.
He has no idea why or to whom.
Certainly the first sentence would appear to be true based on what the mysterious figure in the alley said. No doubt one of the men on that ship appeared to be one of the walking dead, at least as far as you could tell.
Who's who you will have to discover, but it seems this Beshter while strange is not a Vampire after all how could he meet you by day if he was?

Storyteller Shadow |

FYI you all may read the Prince Narses post - think of it like an offstage aside that is obviously taking place out of your current scene so no one should have IN character knowledge of it :-)

Hi!
Are merits always post-embrace?
When dealing with the Captain & other sailors... I had this but forgot:
Natural Leader: You are gifted with a certain magnetism to which others naturally defer. You receive two extra dice when making Leadership rolls. You must have a Charisma rating of 3 or greater to purchase this Merit.
Also stuff like Cat-Like Balance, etc...
Finally, only seems fitting with the history that I put 3xp into "Knowledge: Occult" for 1 pip/rank.

No, Merits can be pre-embrace, what were yu thinking about acquiring?
Alright, just remind me of things like merits when you roll so I take them into account.
Yes, I agree, 1 dot makes sense for sure.

Storyteller Shadow |

Yes absolutely you would get the benefits pre-embrace unless they are Vampire specific, if you are not sure let me know what you are wondering about and I will take a look.

Storyteller Shadow |

Don't remember offhand, will look it up and get back to you. I think it may have been Larceny as a catch all but will confirm later.

Storyteller Shadow |

Hi Alessandro it is Carousing. Carousing is essentially the Talent of being able to talk to anyone anywhere think of it like a social butterfly. With 4+ dots your specialty can be with particular groups of people or social situations. There is an element of Etiquette as well to meeting with certain groups of people I will decide which applies depending on the nature of the situation and how formal the situation is.

Storyteller Shadow |

Michael Santo, the Dex + Stealth is the correct skill set for shadowing. In the crowd setting taking a specialty skill in Disguise will help with these types of checks.

Alessandro Khadaji |

That's what has replaced Streetwise? Eww... I guess sounds like Gather Info. So, it works for an information network... But, what about "street cred" or reputation?
Don't "F" with him, give him what he wants... reputation precedes you type of thing. Carousing just seems light hearted... But, I've seem other games use it similarly I think.
Guess 1 pip/rank in Carousing.

Storyteller Shadow |

You would mix in Intimidation for that effect. If you want to do so with words alone it is Chariams + Intimidation whereas if you want to rough someone up or threaten to it is Strength + Intimidation.
Reputation is really the Background Influence. You would begin to acquire Influence in certain spheres of power, certainly the criminal underworld is one place where you can spread such influence. As you RP you will also be able to increase the Background Contacts (i.e. spy network).

Storyteller Shadow |

Subterfuge is in essence lying. You would not use it to gain information but to spread disinformation.
Also, I need to look up Cat-Like balance to see how it effects your roll, did not get a chance to do that will try to do it tonight before I run my table top D&D game.

Thanks Lorenzo!
ST Shadow, wanted to visualize or work Alessandro up to this.
Parkour (French pronunciation: [pa ˈku ]) (abbreviated PK), also called "the art of displacement", is a training discipline of movement and holistic well-being. The simplest way to visualize parkour is as street gymnastics; while this may describe the closely related activity freerunning, it misses the practical philosophy of parkour.
Practitioners aim to move quickly and efficiently through their environment using only their bodies and their surroundings to propel themselves, negotiating obstacles in between. They try to maintain as much momentum as possible without being unsafe. Parkour can include running, climbing, swinging, vaulting, spinning, jumping, rolling, quadrupedal movement and more, if they are the most suitable movements for the situation.
Parkour is non-competitive. It may be performed on an obstacle course, but is usually practised in a creative (and sometimes playful) reinterpretation or subversion of urban spaces. Parkour involves 'seeing' one's environment in a new way, and imagining the potentialities for movement around it.

Andrew the Hardy, Lord of Moray |

Storyteller
Andrew is giving only limited information to Brian, re the people in the country. Namely that he believes they are there to confront evil in an actual form not church politics and to begin an inquisition.
He will be asking Brian for further information on the knights templar and what their objectives are.
So far he is not confirming or denying the church inquisition in there or not.....
So mostly I want intel from Brian.

Storyteller Shadow |

Well you did drop down 3 stories moving as fast as you could! :-) Besides if you make the soak no damage at all...

Storyteller Shadow |

Finally some action for our PC's!!!
Let's see if I can't draw some blood in these encounters! :-)

Lorenzo Cappelli |

1. Didn't even know I could have armor... Would have light armor, leather? Always played modern nights.
2. Dodge isn't even on my sheet! Whoa!? Thought we copied that from a ST provided template.
Might need to retro that XP expenditure. 2 pips/ranks in Dodge.
I thought we were playing under V20 rules, in which case dodge is no longer a talent that can be taken. Dodge actions are handled as below in V20.
Dodge: A Dexterity + Athletics maneuver useful
for avoiding attacks of all types. Your character
bobs and weaves to avoid Melee or Brawl attacks (if
there’s no room to maneuver, she must block or parry
instead). In gunfights, your character moves at least
one yard/meter and ends up behind cover (if there’s no
room to maneuver or no cover available, she can drop
to the ground). If your character remains under cover
or prone, cover rules apply against further Firearms attacks
(see “Cover,” p. 278).

Storyteller Shadow |

Thank you for the clarification there Lorenzo, that is what happens when I don't consult the book first!
Go with Dexterity+Athletics Alessandro.
I will make sure I check the rules in V20 before asking for rolls moving forward! Taking a few things for granted here :-(
Yes Armor is available, I will send a post tonight regarding armor.

Storyteller Shadow |

HMMM, will have to get back to you on that. The Dark Ages book generally don't place specific value on things assuming (rightly) that a great deal of value in these times are based on the holdings of lands and feudal ties.
I will create a system of economy though so you all ave some measure of what your resources are truly worth.

Storyteller Shadow |

Storyteller Shadow |

You are not the only person to ask for it so I will make sure I get to it at some point soon.
FYI I will be traveling for work the next two days and not entirely sure about my access to the internet. If I am out of touch I will be back to posting on Friday.

Storyteller Shadow |

Hey, we as players don't say it often enough... Really enjoying the game!
Terrific! Glad you are enjoying it. I am really enjoying running it, I think PBP lends itself better to Vamp than table top does. It allows the group a sand box feel that in a live game would feel very slow and boring.
Most if the players in this game I know personally so we chat about how well the game is going on occasion.

Storyteller Shadow |

Thanks Andrew, will check it out tonight as I don't have a baby distraction for the evening.
