Azubah
Rameth's exhortation to use magic against the animated corpses gives Azubah pause. As quickly as he can he intones a supplication to Aroden and that is swiftly answered by the momentary sheen that comes over his weapon. Hail Aroden the Living God!

Fantastic, always love it when I get to have a caster use a spell for no reason.
MWAHAHAHAHAHA. Also you get an AoO against you since I'm assuming you're moving through Rameth to attack since otherwise Rameth and Dwalindor keep you out of attack range.
The huecuva slashes at Albus as his sword descends.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Its claws miss wildly however as the large sword cleaves into it heavily, causing its form to explode outward in a cloud of dust.
You're now out of combat...or are you?
Yes, yes you are.
What do you do now?

Cathedral
DMummy
As you enter through the west door in the main cathedral hall, a short hallway connects a shallow, empty pool to the west to two curtained cubicles to the east. A wooden bench is bolted to the floor in a small alcove across from the pool. A set of stone doors marked with hieroglyphs stands to the north.
When you enter the cubicle ot the north, you see two corpses: one is a pile of bare bones piled out of the way, and the other is a rotting, but still intact, cadaver. An old, broken scimitar lies nearby.
Please roll Survival (DC 10).

Can we add our 3 scores? LOL
Even aiding another wouldn't help those scores. Fortunately Dwalindor beat the low, low DC I set. Why is it you guys score low on all the information gathering, day-to-day rolling and then just ignore any sort of epic fight scene I try and set up with ludicrous damage rolls?
Dwalindor, you're able to determine that unlike most of the bodies you found in the House of Pentheru, these corpses were not placed here during the riots accompanying the Plague of Madness.
Based on the position of the corpses you believe that these corpses were animated by necromancy, then killed and dragged into this cubicle to be hidden from casual inspection. This happened recently, within the last 24 hours.
Rameth the Delver
Rameth does a quick search of the bodies.

If you advanced next to Rameth at R*, you're in range so you automatically attack?
Dwalindor's hammer attacks the same zombie wounded by Rameth, the torque gained by the long handle more than overcoming any resistance from the zombie's magically toughened flesh.
The monster collapses, but not before spraying viscera over Rameth as a result of the impact.
Sir Howard
I say, do you think he was talking about me? I mean, I didn't mean to not be dead.
Although I also didn't mean to be dead. I always thought I'd be rich and famous enough to buy some of that elixir that keeps you young, you know from that desert country?
The hyena's ghost following him barks loudly.
Well of course I know that's silly now, but it seemed perfectly rational at the time.
The hyena barks again.
Oh what do you know, you're a dead animal. Honestly you're worse than that high priest, always droning on about the glories of Aroden this, Aroden that, and why isn't his great-great-grandson proselytizing more.
The hyena whimpers in response to this.
Yes, I wish he'd shut up too.
Azubah
Azubah throws all of his weight behind his greatsword aimed at the nearest ambulating corpse. But he is badly off balance and misses as a result.
Attack
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Just then it occurs to him what Sir Howard said. Does he mean ME?
The sword stays in existence for three minutes from the time it appeared. Has that duration expired yet?
DMummy
When did you cast it? Time is sort of fluid since it can be hours and days IRL since you originally cast a limited-duration spell.
I will say that a good rule of thumb is a room search takes about 5 minutes. That's pretty minimal time and when you guys are purposely rolling Perception to search instead of a reaction roll I picture you poking into corners, knocking on walls looking for fake panels and flipping furniture over.
Rameth the Delver
Not to not pick but wouldn't that be a take 20 then?
DMummy
No, taking 20 involves a much longer set of time since it involves failing repeatedly to get that result (that's why per the RAW you can't disable a lot of traps by taking 20, although you can find traps by taking 20).
As I recall Perception is a much need amalgamation of the skills Search and Spot from 3.0 - Spot is now the "reaction" Perception roll and Search is now the deliberate Perception roll.
I think of it this way: no matter how good your eyesight is, a Perception 20 roll isn't going to automatically spot the trap door under the rug and table in the middle of a room. But making the DC higher than 25 doesn't make a bit of sense mechanically, so time spent is the difference between what you're doing when making that roll.
Rameth the Delver
ok, good to know. I think that means that we will probably be moving through rooms to fight first, cause at 5 minutes per room none of the buffs will ever last
DMummy
We have been playing fast and loose with the buffs and spells just because of the nature of a pbp - I'm fine with that for ease of play( especially in a dungeon crawl which is pretty much just mechanics, mechanics and more mechanics) but if you ask for a ruling I'm going to give one :D
Rameth the Delver
totally fair. Didn't mean for that to sound snarky. Was on a 2 minute break and happened to check my page. DONT MAKE ROCKS FALL ON ME!!!
DMummy
I don't know, that ceiling is looking awfully shaky. MWAHAHAHAHAHA.
And sorry, didn't realize we were waiting on me. Roll damage by the way Azubah! I'm moving you to S9 since you went to attack a living zombie. You also get an AoO on the zombie moving from U9 to T9.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Damage 2: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
The two zombies claw at Azubah and their claws rip into him, tearing gouges into his skin past his skimpy armor.
Their mouths seem to open in anticipation of the feat to come.
Position changes: Azubah at S9, Dwalindor at R8.

I see my last post got swallowed, many apologies for the delay!
Dwalindor's hammer crashes down into the zombie, causing it to collapse in a final death. It also splatters more viscera across Rameth, who is in knife range of the zombie, while Dwalindor remains unmarked from the undead's fluids.
Trip yelps loudly in dismay at the smell of the rotting corpse.
