Winter Snow
Bah! No way! You have to be kidding right? Even with dark skin and pointy ears we'd stick out like priests in cossacks in den of whores.
"A more common sight than I care to question to closely" Winter half jests back before turning to the Elves "It is true though, we understand so little of their culture we could easily misplace our feet and tongues, so I suspect that we will only gain some superficial information before our cover is blown and things get messy. I don't mind such little return if you don't, but know our first priority is about staging a possible rescue above gaining information for others. You accept this as part of the deal"
DM Zyren / Heart of Riddles
Well, no one will question your disguise and even if you act...let's say abit unconventional, the disguise will still be so good that the drow will rather think you've gone mad than think you are disguised surface people...other things are more pressing: Coins...you should trade them for gems, so they aren't minted...and companions and familiars - think about a story how...oh, you don't have any? Fine.

"Our women can talk their tongue, and are sharp enough with them that our cover will not be compromised, how fortunate." Winter looks pleased.
"So how is this disguise going to work? illusions?"

Made me think of about a min and 5 seconds in.
"Aye, I can speak the language and likely handle a whip well enough to impress on first glance... but we'd need a hell of an entry story to even make it past the guards."

Sable's eyes linger on the warrior, thinking that both leaders of the Shin Rakorith are among the most attractive elves he has seen, "I do fly with my Korax, but he can remain with you, if need be. I know a smattering of their birdcalls to get by, but if Korax stays with you, fair one, then my magics will be limited to only what he can teach me the day of our descent."
Sebastian DeGray
The idea of his thin friend without his magics troubles Sebastian, "Is that enough Sable? If we our more than a day, will that leave you defenseless? Perhaps he can rest in this magic bag when the time is likely to interact with any Drow. It would be a shame to loose his sharp eyes and wings on a scouting mission."
Not sure that is possible. It is similar to rope trick which obviously lets people exist within an extradementional. Bags and haversacks might operate the same way. ....ok saw language that someone can survive 10 minutes in a bag of holding before suffocating, would think a bird in the haversack would be similar.
Zyren Zemerys
You would need a good explanation how a surface bird comes into your possession...while I think it is unlikely, I don't think it would be impossible for a drow to have such a bird...speaking of the "illusion" again...umm I think our "specialist should explain how the disguise works exactly...
she seats herself again and as invited by an unseen command an elf enters...he looks old...no, rather withered, like a flower that is well past its bloom.
A rather small hunched figure with greyish hair and jet-black eyes wearing the tattered black robes of a necromancer. Skulls and small bones dangle from his belt and an emerald snake crawls upon his shoulders.
DM Zyren / Heart of Riddles
The necromancer rolls up the sleeves of his robe and rubs his hands
You are going to experience something, no mortal has ever experienced, a spell, so great and powerful I kept it secret for a very long time! I call the spell recorpereal incarnation and it will replace your body with that of one of the drow that died yesterday! he makes a dramatic pause before he goes on - all the while walking through the room and gesturing wildly So this is no cheap disguise - you will be they, hah! And here it does not end, you gain all their physical abilities and - since I'm a genius - I also crafted amultes that will give you access to their spell-like abilities and language! Hah - bow before my genius!
Kaerishiel rolls her eyes...obviously Giseil gets carried away by his own intellect more often than not...
Winter Snow
"I'm rather attached to my own body, I don't understand, is this a disguise or some strange necromantic body swap? What if something happens to you? I don't want to be stuck as one of...them"
Caterine Gabor
"So lets just tally this up... you're sending us on a suicide scouting mission... want to pervert our souls by forcing us into the skins of the black bastards themselves? I've a few choice words for you in a number of languages..." her face clearly incredulous at the bald faced manner in which the elves expect them to acquiesce to being used.
Kabal Breven
Kabal's skin crawled as if there were a thousand bristle worms writhing underneath it and not just from the idea that it seemed like...this crazed old man intends to actually take my skin off... He wasn't much taken with this whole idea at all anymore but... Screw it. Lets get this over with already. Just you make sure you pick a body with some brawn to it for me bub.

Not hearing any of the complaints as worthy concerns compared to what can be gained, "I'm impressed Sir. What an opportunity to get into the minds of the enemy. My only question is, 'Do I get to pick my swapper?' I want to make sure I get one that Kabal didn't punch in the face too much."
Sable Eboncrow
|
Sable sits beside Kaerishiel, smiling sheepishly, his fair skin reddening with blush if she looks his way. He turns to the group, "I approve of this proposal. Never again will I get to fly their winds on their own wings. As for my feathered friend, perhaps something that replenishes winds could allow him to stow away indefinitely." Can I purchase a bottle of air? Then Korax can hide in a haversack or bag of holding
Bree Longfield
"What happens to our bodies while we're... not in them?" Bree asks in elven. Then in common, to her group, "Perhaps someone can stay behind, one of us, and watch over our bodies?" Bree doesn't seem to like the idea of not only allowing someone to presumably rip her soul from her own body and place it into someone else' but especially if that means that her body is left here unattended with people she doesn't know and trust.
Winter Snow
"Leaving bodies in torpor whilst we stroll around? I hope there is no suggestion we would be doing such a thing here, so recently liberated from Drow it could just as easily fall back into their hands. Perhaps if we are to stay in stasis whilst we occupy different vessels then we need to ensure we are safe and secure well away from here"
DM Zyren / Heart of Riddles
Yeah, a ottle of air is purchasable.
Neither nor! No simple disguise, no profane body swap, it is art!
Giseil calls out and snickers madly.
Kaerishiel quickly harrumphes and tries to calm the waves
We will bring your bodies to Crying Leaf and guard them with our lives, I promise that. So please, don't worry about their safety.
Giseil stops and throws his arms in the air
Stupid! It does not work like this! That would be child's play - It will work very differently: You will wear the drows' bodies like cloaks - they will be like a layer that lies upon your skin - it is REAL magic!
Kabal Breven
Yah, yah, yah. Sounds fancy and impressive. Abarracadabarra or whatever. We knocked them punks on their arses and been pussy footing around since. Time to get to stepping. What's got to be done to get the show on the road? We need to chew on a lizards tail? Or paint our faces with ogre blood while doing some sort of hokey pokey and turning around?
A bit of fear about swapping bodies with some spider kissing drow had Kabal on edge much more than usual.
Winter Snow
"I regret we have only knocked a few in the manner Kabal describes, and that we have many many more to add to the pile. Such a delay I must admit has worn upon me and my patience, for whilst we lay idle and roam like a bunch of horses simply agisted in a fallow field , evil goes unchecked."
Caterine Gabor
Caterine takes another step back from the others and shakes her head "You're all fecking mad... Trusting this halfwit with your lives and promising to walk blindly into a place where not much other than death awaits us at the behest of elves who don't even dare risk their own damn skin."
Player knows that railroad AP plot is railroad AP plot... but still...
Bree Longfield
Bree shuffles around nervously, pleased to hear she won't be leaving her body behind after all. She looks over at Cat with her outburst and frowns. "Cat, you don't have to do this. I'm going to do whatever it takes to find Brandon, and I'm grateful to the others who are willing to go to such great lengths to help, but no one could be cross with you for not wanting to go along with this."
Then to the old necromancer, "This IS reversible, right?"

Once you go drow you never go back...
"I'm certain fair Kaerishiel and the other good folk of Crying Leaf wouldn't leave our flight in the talons of a novice magician. I am willing to trust his magics in this if it means we can fly swifter to our ebon enemies."
Bottle of Air purchased
Sebastian DeGray
Sebastian whispers to Cat, "That's why you should pick a good looking one to switch into...... just in case..... Don't want to be stuck Drow and ugly....that is no way to go through life."
Sebastian DeGray
Confused if he angered her or kidded her, Sebastian sought to diffuse that by encouraging her enthusiasm, "That's the spirit...er,.well not senseless. We want to study them, not out do them."
DM Zyren / Heart of Riddles
Do?...nothing - I will do everything necessary, heh. Oh uh...I need to make some last preparations!
With raised index finger Giseil scurries out of Eviana's home to the place where the bodies are kept.
Haerishiel sighs and shrugs
Oh well...we still have to talk about a stroy for you...I mean just in case you meet some inquisitive exemplars of your kin...You tell them that you were part of the forces here in Celwynvian but that the surface elves ambushed you and cut you off the main force...ummm...yeah, then, at night you managed to sneak to the portal again and slip through it only to be followed by the now victorious surfacers. I guess they won't care much about some bloody stragglers when they hear that their attack has failed. To make sure no one will question your story, I and some others will also come through the portal and we will stage a fight...once any drow will come to your help, we flee back through the portal.
Kabal Breven
Kabal grunted and followed the strange elf. He stretched as he walked and hoped fervently that his new body would at least be able to swing his blade properly...properly meaning that parts...like heads and arms...fall to the ground after my steel passes...
Bree Longfield
Bree follows along, staying near to Winter or Kabal at all times, whichever happens to be further away from the creepy old elf. She mumbles at one point, "I can't believe we're actually going through with this."
Her eyes follow Kabal as he moves and stretches. How is someone his size possibly going to pass for a Drow?
