Romon pokes his head out between the vines and looks both ways for witnesses.
Set, I've always believed bless was a great option for a cleric, especially with a big party. No frustration required for me to cast it. On the other hand I've never much thought about Share damage with the fighter , but you're making me change my mind. That's been a pretty primo tactic.
Everyone, more blather in the OOC thread about the possibly leftover loot in Marak's bag.

Round 3
'Butler' A04
'Iesha'A01
Inakai B03
Esteriande A03
Marak - B04
Ali - F03, Lunas E03
Muchorak - A02
Ursas - B02
Naria - C04-05(between the benches)
Romon - upstairs
The 'Butler' aims a mighty blow at Esteriande.Thankfully she is able to twist aside enough to avoid the worst off the blow though it is still a grevious wound
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Possible Critical1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Damage1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
'Iesha' strikes at Muchorak dealing him an almost identical wound however Marak again bears some of the damage..
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Damage1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 (split 6 and 6)
Esteriande d'Litran
Esteriande falters and clutches herself as the blow lands, then recovers with the would already closing (swift action: lay on hands on self). Inspired by the haste-spell she unleashes a blizzard of blows while maintaining her guard (using Combat Expertise for +2 AC and -2 to hit).
Attack #1: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 Damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Attack #2: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22 Damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Attack #3: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19 Damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Lay on Hands: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 3) = 6 damage healed.
Current AC = 26 thanks to haste and Combat Expertise.
Muchorak "Windstriker"
Damage up to 15
Muchorak takes the attacks in stride and unleashes his own assault...
Longsword 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14 to hit and 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 for damage
Longsword 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 to hit and 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 for damage
Shortsword 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25 to hit and 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 for damage
Shortsword 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 to hit and 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 for damage
DM Wellard
You also have another +1 for the haste and the second attack from your short sword should also be at +3 not at +0
Bab=6 +3 from STR +1 from MW -5 for second attack - 2 for TWF( I think you have applied off hand penalties twice there.
and you get an additional attack with your long sword at highest attack bonus. So another attack at +10 please.
Unfortunately the extra +1 doesnt allow you to hit with any off the attacks that missed.
Inikai
Inikai feels the surge of energy from Naria's haste spell but is unaware of its source since the sounds of the fight drowned out her voice as she cast it. It seems as if he is pulled forward as he rushes to attack Iesha.
Smite attack 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
Damage 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Bonus attack from haste 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Damage 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Smite evil/good only applies to the first attack in a round, correct?
Muchorak "Windstriker"
Damn, thought I had it all worked out...i'll re-attack it again today.
And in the meantime...
Longsword 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21 to hit and 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 for damage
Inikai
Inikai might have LoS on 'Iesha but has no way to reach her..she's standing in a 5' doorway with Muchorak blocking the way to her.
Don't you just love fighting in such cramped conditions my children?
I guess Inikai will have to settle for shouting abuse at her.
Romon
Romon perches on the sill and looks again for witnesses. I love what they've done with the garden. He looks for a clear landing spot and jumps to the ground.
Jump1d20 + 19 ⇒ (20) + 19 = 39
If possible he then gets up and starts looking for the back door or a window.
Acrobatics -- jumping :
When you deliberately fall any distance, even as a result of a missed jump, a DC 15 Acrobatics skill check allows you to ignore the first 10 feet fallen, although you still end up prone if you take damage from a fall. See the falling rules for further details.
Alisebett
Hearing the grunts of pain from her allies, Ali tells Lunas to remain guarding the door and runs towards the battle. As she moves she flows to Gnome form and concentrates briefly, singing out a comforting little tune. Suddenly her friends feel a warm healing sensation coursing through their bodies.
Spontaneous Healing: She sacrifices a 3rd level spell slot and for the next 3 rounds all allies within 30' heal 3hp per round.
Muchorak "Windstriker"
Assuming Muchorak is in the radius for Ali's spell his new HP damage total is 12.
The Shoanti tries to focus his rage, to not allow himself to fall into the blind surge of power, and unleashes his attacks again on the creature...
Longsword 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 to hit and 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 for damage
Longsword 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 to hit and 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 for damage
Shortsword 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 to hit and 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 for damage
Shortsword 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13 to hit and 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 for damage
Longsword 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26 to hit and 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 for damage
Romon
Romon lands like a cat on the soft moss of the garden his first look shows that the back door and lower floor windows have planks nailed across them.
Sarenrae's welcoming fire! Can't I catch a break? Romon tries to slip his short sword under a board and pry it up.
Should have bought a crowbar! I guess round 4 will be spent levering enough boards off the door to get at the lock.
DM Wellard
@ Romon:You think you can clear a door with improvised tools in 6 seconds?
Inside
'Iesha' Strikes again at Muchorak for another heavy blow (6 each on Marak and Muchorak)
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 Damage 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Then the Shoanti, in his turn, lays the creature low.
Fight over.
Wow, I don't think I've done that much damage on this party in ages. The dice roller really seemed to favour me this time
Muchorak "Windstriker"
OK, so that would take the damage upto 18, then on the next two rounds Ali's spell brings it back down to 12. :D
Muchorak stands at the mess in front of him and behind him, "What were those things?" Then without really waiting for a response he steps through into the room 'Iesha' was in...
Esteriande d'Litran
"Oui, Mademoiselle Naria, we 'ave laid zem low," Esteriande sinks to one knee to examine the fallen creature and search it's body for any clues as to it's identity, nature etc.
"Verry strange, zey were able to assume ze appearence of 'umans, down to ze clozeeng, but relied upon ordinary weapons. 'Ooever zey were, zey must 'ave been expecting someone 'oo knew ze Foxgloves to visit zem."
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
Esteriande murmurs a prayer for the dead before completing her examination.
Alisebett
With the fight over Ali moves into the room, flowing to wolf form as she does. Sniffing the creatures she tries to get their scent, as well as considering if she has ever seen or heard of their life before
Perception:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Knowledge(nature):1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Marak Quan

Marak speaks up, "I am about to channel energy to heal, please make sure that the creatures will not rise again, and come to me, if you require any healing."
He'll wait for confirmation that the foes are well and truly dead (or bound, whichever), and those who require healing to move to within his sight before channeling positive energy, sending a blast of crackling arcane power forth from his holy symbol, feeling alternately hot and cold, and causing wounds to be outlined with sparkling energy, and seal away.
healing for living targets within 30 ft. and within line of effect 3d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 3) = 7
and again 3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 5) = 15
Romon
No longer hearing the sounds of battle, Romon gives up on the door and climbs back to the second floor.
Hopefully it's an easy climb with the ivy. Taking 10 + 10.
Upon further reflection, I guess I could have acrobatic'ed through the whole crowd to get behind the monsters. With Wellard's description though, I assumed it was too cramped for that maneuver.
Esteriande d'Litran
"I am about to channel energy to heal, please make sure that the creatures will not rise again, and come to me, if you require any healing."
"Save ze channelling, mon ami," Esteriande begins, then sees that Marak himself is injured. "Ah, pardon, I did not realise you used your power to protect Monsieur Muchorak."
DM Wellard
Maps from now on should be of a higher quality as I have moved to Dungeon Designer for CC3 giving me a much wider selection of symbols and textures
Marak having restored the wounded to health you are now free to search the house without interruption(take 20 is now allowed on any skill roll it applies to)
Romon
Romon stays scrupulously away from the fight scene downstairs. Never mess with the bruisers kills if you didn't lend a hand.
He finishes going through the upstairs rooms, simultaneously quite satisfied that for once he isn't rushed, and quite sure that he'll find nothing. It looks like the place was well tossed and whoever searched it probably had weeks to look for whatever they were looking for. He consoles himself that's he's probably better than whoever searched the place before him and digs into his task.
Perception: take 20 + 10 = 30 +3 more v traps

"I can't see any obvious connection between Foxglove and these...things. It seems that they were here to ambush any of his enemies who came looking for him. This suggests that Foxglove's allies have great resources."
"Their armaments are impressive. Esteriende, would you mind if I examine their swords. I think I might want to replace my own blade with one of theirs." It's hard to get souveneirs from shape-changers.
I will be going away tomorrow and returning Tuesday. Please DMPC Inikai as needed, thanks.

From upstairs Romon yells down, "I'm not sure they were friends. Someone, likely your friends down there, tossed this place looking for midden boots. Doesn't sound like friends to me."
Esteriande d'Litran
"But of course, mon ami," Esteriande hands one of the swords to Inikai. "Zese ozzers we can sell and distribute ze money amongst us all."
"I'm not sure they were friends. Someone, likely your friends down there, tossed this place looking for midden boots. Doesn't sound like friends to me."
"Zat sounds like ze kind of 'friends' 'oo would make a man a ghoul and send 'im to spread a plague and die in ze process," Esteriande muses. "Why search 'ere? Because 'e may 'ave left somezing be'ind 'im zat zey wanted, and was well 'idden. Given zey 'ad 'im doing zeir work, it was not somezing zey wanted 'im to know zat zey wanted. What could zat be?" Esteriande snaps her fingers.
"Oui! Zey want to send 'im to 'is demise, but not want 'im to know zis. If 'e dies, 'e leaves be'ind a trail zat can point to zem, zat ees what zey wish to discover! Zat ees what zey cannot ask 'im for wizout revealing to 'im zat 'e is ze suicide puppet. Romon, mon ami, if every room is ransacked, zey did not find what zey were after! Whatever it is, it is sill 'ere, well 'idden and we must find it!"
DM Wellard
Ali recalls stories she has heard of creatures known only as Faceless Stalkers able to assume the form of any humanoid being.
Her keen nose picks up only the scents of the city upon them. They seem to have been here for some time.
With the foes out off the way you are able to search the whole house with impunity.
Ground floor Entrance way, trophy hall, study with ransacked desk, living room with slashed chairs and couch
first floor Landing: Several paintings have fallen here,Guest Room: The bed’s mattress is slash open, and the footlocker upended and emptied of its contents andLibrary: Hundreds of mundane books litter the floor.
second floor Master Bedroom: This large room has been thoroughly ransacked and Master’s Study: The exotic zebraskin rug on the floor here is worth 35 gp. The bed and chair are torn apart, and the desk and footlocker have been looted. The fire mantel is decorated with roaring lions heads in bronze which match the other key in your possession.
Romon manages to locate the key hole in one lion head and satisfies himself that the device is not trapped..he turns the key and there is a click at the other end..then he is able to unhinge the other head to reveal the following.
a bag of 350 pp
a shallow wooden case containing a number of legal papers pertaining to the townhouse, as well as the deed to Foxglove Manor. The deed indicates that the Foxglove family only financed two-thirds of the manor’s construction 80 years ago; the remainder was financed by a group called the “Brothers of the Seven.” The deed also bears an unusual clause near the end that indicates that after one hundred years, ownership of Foxglove Manor and the lands within a mile “around and below” reverts to the brothers.
Under the case is a thin black ledger—the majority of the purchases and payments recorded are mundane, but several near the end of the ledger should catch the PCs’ attention. These are nearly a dozen entries over the past three months labeled as “Iesha’s Trip to Absalom,” each indicating Foxglove was paying someone referred to as “B.7” 200 gp a week for her “trip,” dropping off the payment every Oathday at midnight at a place called “The Seven’s Sawmill.”
Muchorak "Windstriker"
Muchorak will begin searching the house, starting with downstairs, paying close attention to the desk, anything hanging on the walls, the fireplace (if there is one)...trying to locate anything hidden or perhaps overlooked by their assailants...
Perception Taking 20 so 20+10=30

"Midden boots?"
Romon
"Midden boots?"
"The goods, cached cash, swag, hidden loot. Well what have we here?" Romon slides the bag out of the recess with a gentle muffled clinking. Oh, that sounds good. He lays the bag gently aside and pulls out the ledger. Then announces to the party. "Sharp gents your friends. Take a look at this."
Marak Quan

Marak will pick through the hundreds of books, selecting those that seem interesting or old or potentially valuable (and ignoring penny dreadfuls and serial fiction and the like) to stuff into the haversack, bundling them all together in a sheet or curtain or something, for ease of retrieval.
He's particularly interested in seeing if the reading interests are as macabre as the 'how-to-become-a-lich' stained glass mosaics at the manor.
Perception, if necessary, to notice a similar theme as at the Manor, or find anything unusual among the books 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Muchorak "Windstriker"
Doh, apparently I posted while you were still editing that one.
"Sounds like we have a new place to search, this sawmill." Muchorak looks out the window, "We still have light, shall we go once we are completed here?"
Esteriande d'Litran
"I quite agree - we 'ave 'ardly strained our resources, let us investigate while zey are unprepared for our arrival," Esteriande agrees. "I do not disagree zat we must on occasion strike 'ard and 'old nozing back, I would prefer we not resort to violence too early: evil is best redeemed, not slain. One cannot redeem ze dead."
There is just a hint of reproach in her voice.
Inikai
Another sawmill Inikai thinks. Blades everywhere and not enough room for all of us to maneuver. Well, we have been lucky so far. Then he catches Esteriende's comment to Muchorak and thinks She is not necessarily wrong but our enemies would not give us a moment's consideration should they have the advantage.
