Seeing Fearless go after his Evil self. The one that perverted Kast, turning him from his Paladinship as he was torn back to this living world in a forced resurrection.

Well, BB can help his other Watchmen.
I just can't believe you are trying to turn my dear and loyal Watchmen. These are people that I have sided with because they really like me, and because they want to drop kick Lowl's in the ass. Sure, their desire to hunt that piece of shit down might run hotter and stronger than their affinity for me... but ..come-on...who *doesn't*like me?! I'm adorable and likable.
He turns to pan his view of the others.
You guys like me. right?

He steps back and brings a razor into being.
Cast Spiritual weapon.
Alas, this razor is not for Hairy the Sasquatch. This is working as a team!
He directs the war razor to attack Underhill!
War Razor: 1d20 + 6 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 6 = 30 damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

My Blessing of Fervor is +2 to hits, AC and Saves. I'm going to assume a +2 to hit doesn't apply to my spiritual weapon... right? only my physical attacks?

Cats riddles Jasper with arrows. The reflection collapses back into the water and vanishes across the rippling surface. Brother Butterfly feels a sudden sense of loss, like words were on the tip of his tongue but are now gone.

There's no time to think of it now, and so he directs his razor to Fearless' double, slashing it across the cheek.

Fearless turns and almost blasts Brother Butterfly, but realizes it's not Jasper, and that Jasper is now gone. He redirects to the Mariner's bloody double instead, peppering it with magical missiles.

The Mariner adds a sword slash to the growing number of injuries his double is collecting.

Mariner:

More images of memories return. A village on fire.. you chained in the hold of ship.. whippings and beatings.. a pirate strangled in your hands.. a knife bloody in your fist.. a couple names carved into your flesh.. Voyages upon the Sellen.. Strange foreign lands.. Villages burn.. Slaves chained in the hold... the list of names grows...

The more of these memories that you collect, the darker your outlook on life becomes. So many dead.. who cares.. better them than you. Let the gods sort them out.

"Rotting thief!" The dread pirate snarls. "Taking what I earned with salt, blood, and sweat! I'll gut ya!" He slashes with his blade.

Seeing the uber-hairy Jasper disappear into the swamp.
Brother Butterfly gives a dry wretching sound. Part choke and part gag reflex.
Oh, Mad Poet, I was just picturing in my mind --- Have you ever had to clean clumps of hair from a bath drain before?
He makes the gagging sound again.
THAT's going to be one nasty swamp cleaning you are going to have to do.
His body shivers at the mental picture he has in his mind.
He also thinks in the back of his mind that he might recommend capturing the bad-selves. That reclaiming memories might be done easier in they are alive. The fact that he had such a feeling of loss when his doppleganger died-- affirms this theory.
He internally debates, as he's selfish. If he can't get his memories - then the others shouldn't either. But, he also knows that serving Desna means that the world of Dreams needs to be served by a steward of wisdom. That steward needs to show off his wisdom to constantly remind others how damn smart and wise he is. As the old Addage, "What have you done for me lately?"
applies to every religious flock. If you don't remind them, they forget all you've done for them in the past.
Maybe we should try to capture them -that might be the only way you can reclaim your memories!

Cats in no way laughs at all that Brother Catterfly ‘accidentally’ takes a few hits from his own side. He’s sure it was an total accident and not funny at all. Cat would never laugh at something like that.

Ah…this must be what cattenfreude feels like.

Cats turns and shoots Captain Bloodyarm full of arrows, but he's tough as nails and stays on his feet.

Brother Butterfly's spiritual war razor swipes at Mr. Underhill, but a magic shield blocks two slashes from it.

Will vs Hold: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
The big man's spell spell takes full effect, paralyzing Bloodyarm in mid swing!

Fearless sprays the crowd with magic missiles, some into Jasper, some into Brother Butterfly, and some into his own double, though with the last target they impact upon that same magic shield that blocked the spiritual weapon.

Taking up his own sword, the Mariner hacks into his evil double ruthlessly, each blow splattering blood into the pool and onto himself. A look in his eye starts to match the cold-blooded stare of his old self...

Mariner:

Memories flood back into you, merging with, and threatening to overwhelm the more recent memories you've made since awakening at the Asylym.

Captain Bloodyarm falls to Cats' arrows and reverts to water as he rejoins the pool of the Oasis.

Brother Butterfly's razor flies over to slash Mr. Overhill, but it leaves only a minor wound as the double closes on the held Fearless. Raising a knife that looks like it belongs in an evil temple where cultists make sacrifices to horrible beings, Mr. Overhill readies to plunge it into his paranoid twin's heart.

Mariner beats him to the punch, splashing through the water and slashing the evil halfling into two waves that fall back into the pool.

ROLLS:

Meanwhile, the Twin dispatches his own double with the help of his eidolon holding him still as he runs a knife across his neck. The double liquifies and falls like rain into the pool...

For a moment the Oasis is quiet. Then a strange cacophony of sounds wash over you all. Bizarre clicks and high-pitched hoots intermixed with crackling static fills your mind along with the image of a faraway desert city.

"Wake up!" A voice shouts, echoing across the sands, and you suddenly find yourselves back at the Oasis. The Mad Poet and his hut are gone.

As the strange sounds fade a new voice comes to all of you. "You are now free, but to remain so you must release me from Biting Lash." The image of an old Keleshite woman sitting in dark cell comes to your minds.

Mariner:

This encounter leaves a mark on your soul. You have regained some memories, but they are from a life where you were a ruthless and murderous man that cared for little more than gold. You've resisted the darker impulses that come with these memories, but it's hard to see the world the same with them in your mind. You remember so much hate... you hated Kast. You hated Jasper. The Twin was a fool and a liar. Mr Overhill was amusing, because a psychopath recognizes another psychopath. You don't nee to change anything, but feel free to lean into these dark memories of the past.

Fearless:

This encounter leaves a mark on your soul. You have regained some memories, but they are from a life where you were twisted by dark knowledge of cosmos. Lowls betrayed Fearless, sacrificing him and the others to satisfy a ritual of knowledge and understanding.
One chaste...
One corrupt...
One fanatic...
One fraud...
One depraved...
One devoted...

Lowls learned things from your sacrifices, but some of the knowledge has found its way to into your memories now. Lowls was seeking knowledge of what he believed was Hastur, the Yellow King. However, Lowls discovered knowledge of something else that lurks in the depths beneath the Yellow King's realm in Carcosa, an alien city somewhere in the Dark Tapestry. Called the Inmost Blot, or the Star Seed, this Great Old One was so terrible that knowing its true name invites doom. Lowls learned from the Mad Poet that he might be spared if he could present himself to the Inmost Blot and so he set out to collect a version of the Necronomicon that exists in Golarion that could lead the way to an ancient ruined city once connected to Carcosa called Neruzavin.

Thinking about the Necronomicon, you recall that it has come up before in Lowls' research, and that he contacted a man named Miacknian Mun...

Miacknian Mun:

You found an envelope containing a letter signed by Miacknian Mun. In the letter, evidently answering a question posed by Lowls, Mun confirms that “It seems that the Mad Poet you met in your dream journey was right. The book you seek, the Necronomicon, is located in a special collection called the Mysterium in the Qadiran city of Katheer, though it is written in Necril. If you can find a way to retrieve it and bring it to me, I can certainly help you translate and research it. I look forward to seeing you again, my old friend.”

But where do we find Lowls? We think he's headed to some city - that's why we are boating. But you seem to know more about Lowl's plans. Where do we intercept him?
Also, what do you others know about The Necronomicon?

any roll I can make about Biting Lash? Is that a location I'm familiar with? I'm assuming, "no" since I've lost memories. If that's the case, then he says the following.

Let's wake up on the boat and look for maps of Biting Lash? Hey Twins - where is your body in the waking world? Maybe we can meet up with you. We have a boat!

I should know more. I really should, but with our memories taken- there's holes in my knowledge. Stuff I learned about before encountering Lowls.

Okay, the two questions that pop up: #1 Where does this Golarian version of the Anti-Sarenrae exist? #2: Who is the man whose mom really hated the child and gave him a name that'd get him picked on in primary school? Mokmurian? Mock-Man? Mock-Mun?

Are we able to read the Miacknian Man spoiler? Under what circumstances?

”Catcosa? Where the heck is that? Is it far?” Kast asks, really needing a map and not knowing much. ”Is that where we’re going next? Those who know things that I don’t cat?”

You can read the spoilers, and if you search for his name in posts you will find a couple other references.

"Am I remembering something about this Neruzavin story?" the Mariner says as he washes his face of sleep with water from small bucket. "That monolith in Thrushmoore, the Star Fish thing. Didn't that have some kind of teleportation power that links to all other Star Fishes, one being in this Neru place?"

Jasper, starts daydreaming in the dreamlands. Which.... creates a metaphysical puzzle for how THAT actually happens. His daydreams usually involve himself being awesome and amazing. He can see himself being great, and sings to himself.
turn it on. Oh yeah!

I wish I wasn't so dang sweet. So dang sweet, so dang sweet.
and in a lower, thrown voice he sings. You are like Cinnamon.

He gets a bit startled, as he just realizes the others can hear him and he becomes self conscious of his signing voice.

Cats looks at Brother, then a Mariner.

”So what now? What has happened to all you? Why didn’t you listen to cat? I’m C-A-T, and that spells ‘smart], which I am,” Kast asks.

He isn’t sure how to answer Mariner, but does remember the telecatation thing.

Cats looks around, trying to regain a bearing of where he is. Are we in dreamland or real life, and where are we in either? I seem to be very confused.

Fearless shrugs. "I am not sure. I may have to dig through my books to see how we can get there."

Same here but that's probably apropos

"Come on Mr. Awesome and Amazing, you remember the thing with the thing", the Mariner pushes the mental task to a mental person.

I searched for the post but couldn't find. I do remember that though. GM -hint?

As the Watchmen recover from the fight with their doubles and begin to understand what they need to do next, there is one member, recently arrived, who has plans of his own…

”I can’t join you. Yet.” The twin reaches out to stroke the head of his eidolon. ”My body is right here, standing before you. The nightgaunt dragged me away to the dreamlands when it took me from the asylum. I’ve been here ever since, tracking Lowls on my own, though I’ve seen traces of you along the way. I was even able to send my eidolon to bring you a gift once. A deck of many things.”

The Twin climbs up on his strange servant. ”I’ll find my own way forward for now, though I think we will meet again.” The eidolon lifts into the sky and flies off across the sands.

As the Twin vanished in the distance, you think on the words of the Mad Poet. Those, along with the fragmented memories reclaimed by Fearless and the Mariner have given you some leads.

First, Lowls seeks a city called Neruzavin. To learn of its location he sought out the Necronomicon at a university of the occult called the Mysterium in the Qadiran city of Katheer. Lowls’ endgame is unclear, but Fearless recalls a brief memory of he and Lowls perusing a book about the Star Stelae, and that those in Thrushmoor mirror another group rumored to stand in Neruzavin. Fearless theorizes that they could be used to mark Golarion so that it can be brought into Carcosa, and therefore under the power of the King in Yellow.

Second, Lowls was in contact with a man in Cassomir name Miacknian Mun who claimed he could help translate the Necronomicon for Lowls. From information found among Lowls papers you know that Mun’s laboratory is in the southern part of Cassomir in a district called Admiral’s Fen.

Third, the Mariner recognized the name Biting Lash as belonging to a gnoll slaver that operates out of the city of Okeno.

Of these locations, Cassomir is only about 5 days travel down the Sellen.

The Watchmen awaken back in the material world. Ashella and Nestor, along with a few other Stardust Augurs sit nearby, taking watch over your dreamquest.

”Welcome home, dreamers.” Ashella smiles. ”You slept a long time. Did you find what you were looking for?”

Cats smiles at the Twin, barely remembering the man for what he was. Kast remember him as a dream’s fragment from a time long ago. Not a pesky reality, like Brotherfly.

”Maybe? I’m not really cat, but maybe. I think we need to go to Catsomir and find someone named Catackian Mun, according to Catless over there,” Cats looks at Fearless and hope he agrees. ”Apparently, things are weird in dreams.”

Cats will rouse himself and begin to stretch, trying to shake the fog of sleep while others explain.

When everyone is ready, he will be ready to travel down the Sellen to Cassomir.

Fearless awakens with a fog as well. He looks over at Cats. "You have that same dream too?" He splashes some water on his face, resting his hands on eother side of the bowl he watches as drip by drip the droplets fall back into the basin. As the water ripples and rests his own evil reflection glares back at him. "Cassomir's only 5 days away right?"

The Stardust Augers offer the Watchmen a safe place to rest and consider their next move. Only Fearless and the Mariner have managed to recover some of their previous memories, and at a cost yet to be determined. Brother Butterfly still looks at his wife Avari with the eyes of a virtual stranger, though seeing him in the flesh seems to have given her a small amount of peace with her past. No tears are shed as you bid your farewells, only wishes for safe travels and success.

***

About a week later, after a long and harrowing journey down the Sellen River, the watchmen finally arrive in Cassomir, the next location on their list as they try to catch up with Count Haserton Lowls IV. Lowls came south to Cassomir to meet his old colleague and associate Miacknian Mun, and so the first task here is to find Mun’s laboratory. From information found within Lowl's research taken from Iris Hill, Fearless knows that Mun’s laboratory is in the southern part of Cassomir in a district called Admiral’s Fen. The exact location is unknown, so someone is going to need to hit the streets to locate it.

With some of his memories returned, the Mariner now recalls some contacts he has made in the city. The first is the harbormaster, Breren Dalvos. He doesn't necessarily remember him as a friend, but he knows they had a professional relationship since his early days working the river.

A second contact known to the Mariner in Cassomir is the person responsible for designing the Sellen Starling - a strange bleachling gnome named Ethem Baler. Etham is a member of the Esoteric Knights of Evolvement, a group made up of variously well connected master alchemists, engineers, ship-builders, and socialites, all dabbling in the esoteric to make their lives more interesting. The group officially meets once a month at an exclusive inn called the Sceptered House to discuss matters of interest, but many members spend their days relaxing in the establishment’s comfort.

Holy cat, I cat believe we've made it this cat.

"Yo, Catiner?! You think you can help us find Catackian Mun?" Kast asks Mariner.

Sounds like we could sell our loot and buy some gear. Let's do that. Cats is at 27k vs. 68k wealth curve.

Yes. Cassomir is a big city with a lot of resources. Buy, sell, and trade away!

On the way to the big city of Cassomir,  Jasper works on his latest painting. He doesn't get a chance to complete it during the boat ride, as he is missing some important paints. Those special paints he plans on buying in the large city. (Depending on my roll) He finds the exact paints he's looking for, and is generally happy with the quality of work and his improvement in painting.

The rough outline he establishes on the Sullen Starling looks to be very complimentary towards Fearless. BB's muse in all his paintings is finely dressed, as he's at a formal ball. Mr. Underhill has a halfling woman smiling and giggling under each arm. A third lovely and busty 'Ling doting on him with fruits and cheeses. Fearless has nice clothes and a moderate amount of fine jewelry on his person. His harem of three lovelies also reflect his wealth.

The Halfling Watchman fits in well with his surroundings. Others at this ball are equally yoked in station and influence. Fearless seems happy-- like he has found comfort and a home amidst his brethren.

Now in Cassomir, BB finishes the painting. He fills in the details, showing how Fearless has so much.

The painted scene shows an abundance of love and attention (from the women!), enough wealth to be content, he is socially well adjusted, and nothing but friendly faces in the crowd.

AND TO HIGHLIGHT HOW ABSURD AND IMPOSSIBLE THIS SCENE COULD BE IN REAL LIFE.......... Jasper adds a small touch.

There on the dance floor is The Mariner, drawn with a Ulfen Barbarian influence, is dressed in a formal (tuxedo like) attire and furs. He is dancing with a halfling that's a third his height. Mariner looks oh so out of place. For everyone knows: Ulfen Barbarians are never dressed up, and they *never* attend debutante style balls.  skill painting: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Happy with the end result, he signs his work and places a flourished title:
THE ULFEN COTILLION

I really wanted add a hyperlink to a picture of an Ulfen Barbarian in a tuxedo. Oddly enough when I googled "Pathfinder, Ulfen in Tuxedo" nothing appeared in the search results.
I even tried Pathfinder Viking in tuxedo.. Still nothing. I guess there are still things that can't be found on the internet! I guess I have to leave my painting to "the theatre of the mind".

The Mariner pulls out a small chest sets it on the table, heavy and filled with coins pillaged or picked from the deaders in the past months. Ladling a handful of gold into large leather pouch, he feels the weight of metal like a merchant. ”Cassomir – you won’t find a more retched hive of scum and villainy – at least until the next port. Let’s start with the harbormaster, Breren Dalvos.”

”If I can’t bribe him with coin, I’ll beat him with it”, he ties the improvised sap to his belt with a sturdy tug. Head off the Starling, his stomach grumbles, ”Maybe get a Thankful feast afterwards.”

Not wanting to be brained by a money bag sap, Jasper waits a bit to show Mariner the painting where he has him waltzing with a 3 1/2 foot female in a flowery dress.

He'll watch how the interaction with the harbormaster goes. He'll show it to Fearless and the others only after the large leather pouch gets down to about a quarter of it's gold and platinum volume.

Most likely his infamy remains the local lore, the Mariner realizes. He'll use it scare the piss out of the old crowd through his entrance.

After taking stock of The Watchmen's funds, he's actually very worried that the bag Mariner is holding is fairly light. The Watchmen might need to do menial labor just to pay off the dock fees. Obviously not Jasper - but the others might have to scrub pier planks, and scrap barnacles.
This group of fearsome people are cash poor.

Mariner, is that bag full of coppers or silvers? I know my beltpouch has some cool things in it, like paints, and tin soldiers... but looking inside it appears that it's fairly void of coin of the realm. Now, if I were to drop into a deep sleep, I could see the bag fill with pretty shiny sapphires in the Dreamlands.
Hey Fearless--- did those books you spent a large amount of time reading advise how to pull domething from the dreamland without turning you into a Oneirogen. Remember what happened to Dr. Losandro? She was just kneeling there with dream-mist pouring from her mouth.

Cats follows along, hopeful that things are going to be alright. Maybe not, but maybe so.

He had hoped to buy a nice meal someplace, but isn't sure he wants to use any of Mariner's brain bashing coins to get it.

Fearless gazes at the painting, holding it at every angle trying not to laugh at the absurdity. Brother Butterfly was obviously trying to show his own affection by projecting his own image off onto Fearless. "Thanks Brother." The words sounded strange in his mouth as he had only ever referred to the man as Shapeshifter.

"I am afraid the books are too numerous and in varying dead languages that it takes quite a bit to sift through. We are lucky to have uncovered what we have this far."

"Like a harlot who hides tips from her handler, so I had hidden these from you Brother," the Mariner smiles, "Gold, if you must ask. Here - get yourself a shave." He flips one over with a ping.
