Well, the only thing out of this beautiful selection of loot that I'd like for myself is the ring, and I shouldn't have it.
Mithral dagger: I'm more of a sword-slinger, and could only see a use for it if I were to take Two-Weapon Fighting, which doesn't mesh well with the Magus' spell-and-steel style of combat, so no.
+1 Keen longsword: Don't need it. I have a Black Blade that I can give increasing enhancements to as I level up.
Ring of protection +1: I can cast Shield for a +4 shield bonus, so I don't need this little beauty.

Talia Senshir |

Does the ring use a shield enhancement? I thought it was deflection, in which case it would stack with shield and be of use to you. Talia doesn't need such, at least at this stage. The dagger she could use, or it could be sold...

Sour Heck |

Heads up that I'm having a busy spell at work--I'll do my best to keep my oar in, but may be less lively than usual for a couple of weeks.

Peredur ap Erevel |

I think we're on the final stretch of this installment, so there shouldn't be much fighting left before we transition to the next part. While you're gone DM C will just have to stick in a few posts of "Sour Heck makes a trenchant but darkly amusing comment here."
It's not the same as the real thing, but we'll see them and think of you, toiling away in RL.

Eloise Tow |

Red alert! My network is being extra crappy, so I may not be able to get online - reliably - at home for the foreseeable future. o_o Please NPC me if needed…

Sour Heck |

I’d like Heck to have a chance to talk with each character at the party. To keep the conversations straight, I’m bracketing them all with spoiler tags in the gameplay thread. Everyone feel free to read what’s behind the tags if you want; if you like, you could even have your character overhear what’s being said in a conversation he’s having with someone else. The spoilers’ only purpose is to keep straight what’s being said to who.

Peredur ap Erevel |

And they'll call the band The Beat-Alls, right?

Peredur ap Erevel |

Actually, let's name it after the bard and call it the Sour Heck Five. Hmmm..."Catch Us if You Can" works pretty-much unrevised...but is anyone here but me and Spiral Ninja old enough to remember the Dave Clark Five?

Eloise Tow |

Advance warning: I will be going on holiday the 27th, and will remain away until the 5th. I should be able to get online during that time, but there are no guarantees.
The internet at home continues to be worse than spotty...

Sour Heck |

Also, I may be away from computer over the weekend. Author-Buddy Brust is in town. :)
What, Steven Brust? I loved To Reign in Hell, and my wife is a huge fan of the Khaavren Romances--she read a lot of Dumas in her early years.

Peredur ap Erevel |

Sorry for the sporadic posting this week. End of the quarter at work... :)
Also, I may be away from computer over the weekend. Author-Buddy Brust is in town. :)
We might have some friends in common, then--do you know Victor Raymond and Lynn Litterer?

Talia Senshir |

We might have some friends in common, then--do you know Victor Raymond and Lynn Litterer?
The names are familiar, but I couldn't say for certain. I certainly don't know all of Steve's friends. And I'm from the Bay Area, myself.
And yes, Sour, that Brust. Glad to know you and your wife are fans! I had the pleasure of meeting him a decade ago, and became fast friends over the convention weekend where we met. One of those serendipitous moments... He's a fun guy, and if you ever get the chance to meet him at a Con, I'd recommend it. (And tell him ChrisO says hi!) :)
He was in town for a robot fight weekend; a fan of his ran it and flew him out. Just as glad, as it gave an excuse for my GF and I to see him again. Long distance friendships are a pain...)

Sour Heck |

Should we take a little time to liquidate any magic items we don't plan to keep and shop for things we might need before things go crazy in Ravengro again?
Anyone have a count of our gold split so far?

DM Corvus |

just make note of anything you want to sell here and we'll factor it in before we go on to part two.
techincally the party has three+ weeks of downtime before you go on to Lepidstadt, so yknow... anything you want to do / accomplish in that time please let me know.
Also, DING. you're all level four.

Sour Heck |

Nice! Here’s the net change to Sour Heck:
+7 hit points (d8, +2 con), +1 to reflex and will saves, +1 to Charisma, 2 additional rounds of bardic performance/day.
7 skill points: Diplomacy +3, Knowledge (Arcana) +1, Knowledge (Dungeoneering) +1, Perception +1, Sense Motive + 1.
Can now cast 2nd level bard spells, 2/day. New second level spells known: Gallant Inspiration and Rage. New 1st level spell known (human favored class bonus for bard): Moment of Greatness.

Peredur ap Erevel |

DM C, I had a question re HP. Are we getting PFS standard (i.e., 4 for d6 classes, 5 for d8 classes, and 6 for d10 classes)?
Peredur is almost finished leveling. I took the party-buffing Hunter's Bond instead of the animal companion; somehow I think the favored enemy bonuses will help more than another set of eyes, especially at this level. And he also starts being able to cast spells.

Peredur ap Erevel |

I'm good either way; I just wanted the clarification, as I'd been doing it half max + CON.
To no one's surprise, Peredur will put in a request for the +1 keen longsword.

Iesha Shadowstar-Petrosca |

Iesha Level 4:

Eloise Tow |

I'll update when I get back home; I don't have the books with me right now.

Talia Senshir |

Talia has been updated! (Think I got everything correct...)

Peredur ap Erevel |

I had a loot list HERE, including everything up to the vault and not including expenditures.
Peredur would like to get 20 cold iron arrows and two packs of silver weapon blanch, and if the party can get a CLW wand that would be extremely useful. He's also going to brush up on useful information about Lepidstadt, to justify using Knowledge (Local) and maybe making it his first favored community.

Eloise Tow |

I'd suggest purchasing some scrolls, if possible...
I might like to add some to my spellbook. ;)

Sour Heck |

Here’s a loot distribution suggestion. Make whatever alterations you want, folks, just putting it out there as a quick solution.
SELL
(assuming we get half item value at sale, rounded down to nearest gold)
6g -- 1 scroll detect undead
25g -- 2 scrolls hide from undead

600g -- 4 suits mw chain
350g -- 4 suits mw studded leather

2,775 gold total, or 555g each, plus value of ? items.
We also get 100g more each from splitting the gold in the prison safe, and one-fifth of whatever reward the mayor just handed Peredur.

10 +1 crossbow bolts (5 each Iesha, Eloise)

Sour Heck |

I’m pretty sure Heck can buy a masterwork instrument, a masterwork tool for craft (sewing), and a potion of Crafter’s Fortune. Beyond that, can you tell us what kinds of things are available in Ravengro?

Eloise Tow |

I think I'll claim the masterwork mithril dagger. I'm inclined to take Craft Magic Arms and Armour next level, and the dagger could be a worthy first experiment. ;)

Peredur ap Erevel |

Peredur would like to get a masterwork alchemic silver light mace and a masterwork backpack.

Iesha Shadowstar-Petrosca |

I wouldn't mind the ring. The rest of it looks good.
As for shopping...hmmm. I need to think about it.

DM Corvus |

ok, here's whats available:
masterwork instrument or a masterwork alchemic silver light mace would not be feasible out in the sticks, sadly.
Pretty much all equipment can be made, up to masterwork quality in MOST cases, given as the party has three weeks to burn. however, different materials for weapons and armor may be hard to come by. let me know for any special requests like mithral or the like.
Please note: All prices in the pathfinder source books receive a 20% discount in Ravengro due to general good cheer and town-wide thanks

Alendru has a copy of a flesh golem manual but he notes that it says 'property of Montagnie Crowl - Lepidstadt' on the inside cover, and he suspects it to be stolen.

Sour Heck |

Whoops, I left out some treasure, the five prisoner’s stuff.
Spellbook got burnt
+1 hand axe would make a great offhand for Peredur
?gp -- flute
?gp -- hammer
150g -- 12 silver holy symbols
Corvus, if you fill in the ?gps above and in my first post, including how much cash from the town, I’ll recalculate how much gold we have on hand each. How do you folks want to handle magic items we keep? Some folks are definitely ending up with more wealth in items than others. Should I count half the value of non-consumable items as part of people’s shares? Or should we just assign items to whomever would find them most useful and split the gold from selling them when they’re obsolete?

Peredur ap Erevel |

I like the latter idea better. We're a small enough group that it should be clear who can use what, and it won't be hard to make sure that no one gets all the good stuff.
Incidentally, Sour Heck, how is it that you have more HP than Peredur? We both have 14 CON, and Peredur gets d10s; even with favored class bonuses, I don't see how you can get above 32 HP.

Sour Heck |

Heck's HP:
Level 1: 11 HP (Full 8, +2 con, +1 FCB)
Level 2: 19 HP (Half die = +5, +2 con, +1 FCB)
Level 3: 27 HP (Half die = +5, +2 con, +1 FCB)
Level 4: 34 HP (Half die = +5, +2 con)
By my calculations, Peredur should have 36 hp now if you’re putting his FCB into skills. Are you rounding your HP die down instead of up?

Peredur ap Erevel |

That was the clarification I asked about above; DM C is having us take half the maximum (i.e., average rounded down) instead of the PFS standard of half the maximum +1 (i.e., average rounded up).

Sour Heck |

Thanks, Corvus. Could we also get the value of the following:
Shining Crusade war medallion from prison vault
Set of silver hair clips from prison vault
Bag of coin from the mayor

Peredur ap Erevel |

There's also the platinum from Petros for taking care of Kendra and moving books.

Sour Heck |

Assuming Peredur keeps the +1 handaxe, our characters split a total of 5,600 gold, or 1,140 each. If we chip in 640g each to buy that 3200g book, we’re left with 500g each, a remarkably round number.
Peredur, we have to turn the books over in Leipstadt to collect that platinum, according to the will.
