Iesha’s right, though, he’s the brother of the old love goddess as well as the son of the old one.

The Cupid comparison of mine's pretty silly, but on reflection, he had an affinity for darkness in some stories, like the story of Eros and Psyche. Wikipedia tells me that older stories said he was the child of night. And though he’s not the obsessed sadist Zon-Kuthon is, like most of the Greek gods, he could be a real monster.

Your slow work week has contributed greatly to my incredibly busy and long one.

I've noticed other player's text associated with their dice rolls is appearing in green text in the gameplay thread.

is there a specific formatting used to do that that I am apparently not familiar with?

About Eloise and the Magic Weapon-spell: since Magi have to prepare their spells from a book, I'd have nothing but Magic Weapon and some cantrips if it came down to it. I'll do it if necessary, but it feels a wee bit risky. I'd at least like to have one charge of Shield ready in case of troubles we can't immediately subdue.

On another note: have we restored our hp and ability damages yet?

thank you sir!

I appreciate that Heck's gallows humor both enhances and stands in violent contrast to what I'm trying to do here. Especially that last post. My co workers were wondering what I was cackling at.

I've been playing d&d etc for along time and it's always the gothic and horror elements that've hooked me. (Ravenloft was a joy unsurpassed to me for a long time). This campaign path is a natural fit, and I really love it. Glad everyone is too.

Extra Arcana feat: Pool Strike

Black Blade class feature

1 more 1st-level spell/day

2 new spells in the ole spellbook

Quick note: I'm not a fan of the idea that wizards and magusses automatically learn new spells when they level up, part of that character to me has always been finding new spells and transcribing/learning them.

So I propose that Eloise does not automatically gain two new spells in her book. Rather, the next two that she wishes to transcribe (and can cast! no working ahead) succeed automatically.

If this irks you, we do not need to do it this way.

Female CG Human Bladebound Magus 6 | HP: 33/51 | AC: 21 (13 Tch, 20 Fl) | CMB +5, CMD +16 | F: +7, R: +3, W: +5 | Init: +5 | Perc.: +2 | SM: +0 | Speed 30 ft. | Arcane pool 3/6 | Spells: 1st: 3/5, 2nd: 2/4: Active conditions: None

I'm mostly fine with it, really, but will the scribing cost be zero for this, or am I going to find just enough cash to fund the scribing?

Also... what about Wizards, who are supposed to be forever researching magic?

Regardless, Eloise would like to get her hands on Burning Hands and Weapon Wand.

Feat: Extra Hex (Ward) Now to decide who gets it!
Spells: 2nd x2 (+1 Level +1 Int)
Spells Chosen: Burning Gaze, Spectral Hand

Does the "learning new spells" also apply to Witches? If so, I'll keep these two on hold. (Though learning spells for witches is tricky...) :)

Just go ahead and assign new spells Eloise and Talia, we'll just stick with the rules as written

The boards just ate a post, although it may have been my browser. This is a test.

ETA: OK, it worked this time. Peredur is going to increment all his current skills by 1, he picks up Trapfinding and 7 HP, no spells yet, I'm not sure what feat to take (any suggestions?), and he gets his first favored community. DM C, given that he won't get his second one until 8th level, is the party going to be spending enough time in Ravengro over the next five levels to justify taking it?

@Peredur - not really. After Harrowstone you will be on to other parts of Ustalav.

@Eloise - not at all! I just realized it's something I should have laid out at the beginning of the game, rather than far into it. I felt it was unfair to impose it at this point.

Peredur: How about Favored Defense: Undead as your next feat? +1 to your AC and CMD now, scaling upward when you raise your favored enemy bonuses versus undead.

Alternately, how about Improved Shield Bash, if your long-term offhand weapon is going to be a shield?

So you all know, Sour Heck almost never sings. His Inspire Courage, Inspire Competence and Distraction performances will usually be Perform: Comedy. For Countersong and Fascination he uses Perform: Percussion.

Thanks for playing along with my digressions, by the way. I know some of you have played this adventure path before--Talia’s been through it with this character, and I think Iesha GMs it!--but it’s all new to me, so I’m trying to do a little of everthing. Speaking as the other new guy, I don't think Sour Heck is holding anything up. Rather the contrary.

I hope I'm not being a hindrance to the party, either?

I'll throw in my lot with everyone else - Sour Heck is not a hindrance to me, and I hope I'm not being one either. My time is sometimes not my own, and I find I am away from a computer for a couple days... :)

Likewise with Peredur; I don't think we'd even made it to Harrowstone when the campaign he'd started in folded. So far we've managed to avoid that here--it's a testimony to DM C's skill (and our tenacity) that Iesha and I have held on through two sets of new characters.

I'm just stubborn. I'm actually running this twice: once in rl /ftf and once here.

And yes, I do appreciate Corvus keeping this going.

I buy APs I want to play in and no one will run Jade Regent...kinda. The one I'm in here has been running since Nov 2011, been through 2 gms, and we're still in Brinestmp Marsh!

Sigh.

So, I really appreciate this one's survival.

But tenacity sounds classier than stubbornness, which is why I put it that way ;-).

No question, PbP can be slow; I've been running a KM game on the boards since May 2011, and they're still exploring the Stolen Lands. Not long until they go up against the Stag Lord, though. (OTOH, they don't have to be that slow. I'm in a PbP Age of Worms here, and after a little less than a year we're on the third part of Three Faces of Evil, the second module.)

You honest soul, you. :p

this new map system requires that people act in turn in combat. I just want to try it this way.

If it doesn't work, we do not have to use the full functionality, and can just use it as a new fancy visual reference for what we've been doing all along.

meantime, please post and act in Initiative order. You can click and move your character icon on the map, and when done please click the button that says 'PASS TURN AND COPY URL' then post that URL in your action and the next player follow THAT link.

I think this might work...

(and thanks all for the kind words. keep posting and i'll keep running it, I'm having lots of fun.)

If you can't fiddle with the map just state your movement coordinates and I'll do it for you of course!
