I agree, we need to get moving. Kyts on the right, if abit complicated, track. I must admit, questions like this are problem best asked by someone more skilled at words then I.

With a sweep of his hand toward the burly man...

Shall we?

Right now there was nothing more than Kyt wanted other than a mug, a meal, a bath, and a nice warm bed. She wasn’t going to get that right now though. Right now she was with her team still in front of the one in their way. Her words came from the surprisingly collected mind she was able to carry in the situation. It is what sprang forth knowing that this foe was no ordinary man. The surprise by some of her teammates meant the world to her.

Thank you guys for the votes of confidence. Shall we...

She shook her head yet smiled as she walked to stand between her family and their opposition. She holds her hands out as though there was literally an invisible silver platter balanced on her palms. She looks straight towards his eyes.

The time you have is highly appreciated. Our question is...

She states the proferred question to him word for word. Then awaited with baited breath at his answer. If this worked it would be fantastic. If not, well that was why she chose to stand between him and them. Her question. Her responsibility should it not work.

The burly man listened intently to the elf's query.

For what seemed an eternity, he gave no indication as to how he would respond, or if he would. He just stood there, looming over the smaller Kyt, his eyes focused on her, until finally he spoke.

To tell you about Uskroth's Tomb requires a lesson in the history of this region, one that I am more than capable of giving if you have the patience to hear it.

Know then that the border separating the orc hordes of Belkzen and the human crusaders of Lastwall has ever been a contentious one for as long as the two nations have existed. Even after the defeat of Tar-Baphon, the so-called Whispering Tyrant, in 3827 AR, the orcs of Belkzen have continued to grow stronger and more ambitious, repeatedly overrunning the defensive lines Lastwall erected along its borders. The Hold of Belkzen gradually expanded southward — first to the Sunwall, then to Harchist’s Blockade, and finally to the Hordeline.

During Belkzen’s campaign to breach the Sunwall in the forty-third century AR, the Twisted Nail orc tribe counted the hill giants of the Heart Eater tribe among its strongest allies. The alliance was an unusual one in that the hill giants’ self-styled Hero Chieftain Uskroth commanded the obedience of both orcs and giants. The Twisted Hearts, as the combined tribes came to be known, were a force to be reckoned with, and Uskroth led the army to victory after victory against Lastwall, even claiming territory south of the Kestrel River while other Belkzen orcs were halted at the River Esk. Uskroth’s ambitions proved too great, however; without the backing of other orc tribes or giant reinforcements from the north, the Twisted Hearts were unable to hold the territory they had conquered, and they were eventually overwhelmed by Lastwall’s crusaders.

The final battle between the Twisted Hearts and the humans took place on Bloodmarch Hill, saw Hero Chieftain Uskroth finally fall with 23 spears and swords planted firmly in his flesh. The few surviving Twisted Hearts managed to temporarily drive the humans back south, but both the orcs and hill giants knew their campaign was over without their mighty leader. Before the Twisted Hearts retreated north, they laid Uskroth to rest in a tomb beneath Bloodmarch Hill, burying the giant hero with his favorite weapon, a stone warhammer named Agrimmosh, which Uskroth had claimed was the hammer of Minderhal, the smith god of the giants, himself. The subterranean crypt was carefully hidden so that in the future, when Belkzen pushed Lastwall back again, the orcs and giants could reclaim the treasures within and the glory of Hero Chieftain Uskroth.

In the centuries since the Twisted Hearts fell to Lastwall and the Knights of Ozem, the armies of Belkzen have continued to strain against the human territories on all sides. Orc memories are short, and few among the Twisted Nail tribe remembered their ancestors’ alliance with the Heart Eater hill giants or the existence of the tomb of Hero Chieftain Uskroth. And now, the town of Trunau rests atop Bloodmarch Hill, inhabited by the descendants of those who refused to flee when the orcs overwhelmed the Hordeline in 4517 AR. The hardy folk of Trunau have stubbornly resisted the orcs for centuries, unaware that Uskroth’s tomb lay beneath their feet.

Hill giant memories were even shorter than those of orcs, but a recent discovery by a Heart Eater hill giant chieftain named Grenseldek drove her to once again ally her tribe with the orcs of the Twisted Nail. Herself a distant descendant of Uskroth, Grenseldek ostensibly sought to destroy Trunau and reestablish the glory of the legendary Twisted Hearts. But in truth, Grenseldek had little interest in the humans or reuniting the orcs and the hill giants. Her true objective was to find Uskroth’s tomb and obtain the great treasures she believes are hidden there — including Uskroth’s fabled hammer, Agrimmosh, and a family heirloom.

For word had reached Grenseldek that far to the south in the Mindspin Mountains, a storm giant calling himself Volstus the Storm Tyrant had begun gathering an army of giants under his banner. Like Tar-Baphon before him, Volstus planned to dominate the orc hordes of Belkzen, then lead a combined army of giants and orcs against the nations of western Avistan. Grenseldek’s cunning plan was to offer her hand in marriage to the Storm Tyrant, presenting the treasures recovered from the tomb of Uskroth as her dowry. In Grenseldek’s mind, the treasure should be more than sufficient to secure Volstus’s affections. He would make Grenseldek his queen, and she would, in turn, surpass even the legendary deeds of her ancestor Uskroth.

At the mention of the storm giant, the words of the sickly half-orc Katreza came back to the minds of Liesel-Marie, Nyym, and Rohan...

Katrezra wrote:

He regarded the Erutaki for a long moment, concern etched across his features, then nodded his head. In my vision, I saw a bearded man, with eyes and skin the color of amethysts. In his right hand was a broad-bladed and slightly curved sword, while his left bore a shimmering orb of crimson.

As the seer spoke, the sky overhead rumbled and a chill could be felt in the air. Unwilling, or unable, to stop talking, the half-orc continued. Authority was given unto him, and with it, power and glory. The orb burned with an inner fire and at its center sat an unblinking eye, one that seemed to stare at me, its lidless gaze piercing my very soul.... Katrezra gripped the top of his cane tightly, his knuckles turning white. Even in the telling, I tremble as a child would. The eye saw me, as surely as I saw it, and the thought fills me with a fear I have never known. How could I explain to him what it was that I saw when I myself did not know?

The burly man continued. Grenseldek constructed her scheme carefully, knowing that she would likely have only one chance to plunder Uskroth’s tomb beneath the noses of the humans of Trunau. Unwilling to risk the giants of her tribe, Grenseldek sent a team of half-orcs led by the canny and ruthless orc shaman Gorewillow to infiltrate the town and find Uskroth’s tomb, as well as weaken Trunau’s defenses. When these agents located the entrance to the tomb, Grenseldek would then have a band of orcs led by General Kelseph attack Trunau and plunder the crypt. As long as Grenseldek gets the contents of Uskroth’s tomb, the orcs could keep whatever else they pillaged.

This is an update to the previous post. Nyym was not present when seer Katrezra revealed his vision, but Kytynna was. So this should actually read "At the mention of the storm giant, the words of the sickly half-orc Katreza came back to the minds of Kyt, Liesel-Marie, and Rohan..."

The Erutaki listens closely, fascinated by the historical peek into this land. Many of these names mean more now than they had before. But does he aid or oppose the giant queen? I dare not speak.

Nyym also listened intently in the Hope's of garnering any glue as to what might await them inside. As Burly Man gave the history of the area, Nyym could not help but be intrigued. It became more clear also as to the reasoning and brains behind the attack. This was only a small but major part of a much larger plan. It also became more clear as to the danger that not only awaited then not just inside the tomb, but also in the days to come. Nyym continued to listen as the big man spoke, not daring to say a work or interrupt.

And thus this plot thickens. A weapon like what it being described must surely not fall into the hands of the orcs and or giants. A joining of such forces would have dire consequences for the entire region. Not just Trunau. We must not fail.

Kyt places her right fist into her left hand and bows to the big man in front of her.

Your time is appreciated, information is respected, and the knowledge that this needn't have happened at all but only did so because of your will is acknowledged. If you have no other business with us, then I wish not to take up anymore of your time. As you stated before, I understand that we are not allies. Despite the circumstances and the previous trial of my teammates, part of me regrets that it's not the case. As we have not fought yet, and quite possibly will in the near future, however you will not meet any reservation from me when that time comes. Unless your circumstances change between now and then. Should that not come to be. Today will be remembered and the respect will still be there even as we exchange blows.

She finally released her bow after her thanks were given. Standing to look the man in the face one more time.

Though allies we are not, this is not a second question, only for the sake of respect. Is there a name upon which you'd allow to pass through my mouth in calling towards you?

If he offers full name and asks for one in return then she will offer the same. If he offers a shorter name or a call name, then Kyt is what she will reply.

She will wait till he departs before the next part as to not appear like her back is rudely turned towards him.

She turns to look at her teammates.

I feel as though we should make for Uskroth’s Tomb with haste. Although we are weary and battle worn this sounds too urgent to allow much time to lapse before we act. Unless anybody has other suggestions, concerns, or anything else they feel needs done before we finally head in that direction.

The burly man regarded Kytynna for a long moment before reciprocating her bow with one of his own.

I acknowledge both respect and your warrior's spirit with mine own. As for possible future confrontations, know that anything is possible, but the greatest determiner of these things will be the choices you make this night. Should that then place you once again before me as impediments on the path that I've chosen to walk, then know that I also will not show any reservation when the time comes.

As I've stated before, names hold power. And as previously stated, I am under no obligation to answer any other questions you may have. With that said, however, out of respect, I will acquiesce to your wish.

The burly man knelt down beside the elf, bringing his massive hand up as he leaned in and spoke quietly. When he was done, he turned his head to allow her to do the same before standing back up, a sinister grin across his lips and turning to walk away.

What he whispered to her is a nickname.... The Earth Demon.

Everyone gets 535 XP (235 for the challenge with another 200 for awesome roleplay). This brings your current totals to 14,055 (LM, Mesa, Nyym, Kyt, and Rohan) and 21,190 (Nogusta). The cleric is 190 XP over the amount needed for tier 3 of 5th level and only 2,110 XP from tier 4 (6th level) while the rest of Team Ruby is only 945 XP from tier 4 (5th level).

Should you move to the entrance, this is what you'll see...

Gossamer cobwebs hung from the ceiling of this rough tunnel, and the misty spray from the Hopespring’s waterfall outside glimmered faintly on strands of spider silk. Chunks of rubble lay scattered on the floor amid piles of dirt.

Those trained in Survival are able to determine that the entrance burrows south beneath Bloodmarch Hill, while a successful DC 25 Survival check reveals not so much tracks, but scuff marks (due to the hard surface of the tunnel floor) leading deeper into the interior of the hill. Likewise, a successful DC 23 Spellcraft check will reveal that magic was used to form a seal with the existing rock in the hill, one now destroyed thanks to the efforts of the cave giant Ooruk.

Leisel-Marie cannot reach any of those DCs, so she won’t be contributing here.

Liesel-Marie, unsure if they have leave to proceed or if the others are ready to go forward into the hill, hesitates. I never suspected there was a cave here. It was hidden well.

Nyym moved up as soon as he had the opportunity. Although he should have been as hesitant as LM, being the closest thing to a scout the group had. His place was up front where he could fill that roll. He moved trusting his friends and companions to watch his back. Pausing at the entrance but not framing himself in the opening at the same time. Nyym positioned himself to at least have partial cover while still being able to look and listen past the already obvious.

Rohan followed the group slowly but keeping up with them. Surely he will have to find a way to appease the group once again as his actions surely have caused problems in the group. Though he decided to keep his mouth shut unless something relevant came along. Though he did not know much about tracking he knew that there seemed to be signs that magic was used and he wanted to confirm it before he made any decision to say anything. He knelt down next to the cave entrance and examined it.

He spoke up, "Excuse me but I believe that there was magic at play here, though I don't know that exact type. It seemed to be something that sealed the rock in the hill."

He looked back up to the group assuming his words would fall on empty ears but was hopeful. Coming back to a standing positioning and stay quiet unless he had to say something.

"I do hope the group still trust my words after that but we will see"

Doubtful that there would be any real need to stop something from entering but as the story seems to unfold there a reason why, and I believe that may mean there might be an answer to; The actual item of the warhammer Agrimmosh the orc once used."

Beyond the tunnel entrance, Nyym could tell that the air was humid but cool, and a thin sheen of condensation coated the rocky walls. He could make out a cavern as well, thanks to the sound of trickling water that echoed throughout it.

At first, the half-drow didn't notice anything that seemed out of the ordinary. But as he continued looking deeper into the tunnel and beyond, the hair on his arms stood up as a chill run throughout his body. At the farthest edge, just at very limit of his vision, Nyym saw tendrils of yellow mist. Beyond, from the silent swell of fog, emanated the soft murmur of indistinct voices and the sound of footsteps – slow, yet somehow keeping pace with the careening wave. He could also make out shadows of awful, unnatural figures moving through the mist - gangly hunchbacked giants, lurching tumorheaps, and spiders scuttling upon forests of legs. Horrifying noises, some that echoed weirdly, others just loud enough to be uncomfortable, accompanied the shapes.

Nyym was focus on the tunnel as LM and Rohan made their guess as to the magic involved and why. But as he turned out their voices, the why became very obvious. The chill that crawled his spine or hair standing out on his skin had nothing to do with the air. No, something more sinister, more dangerous had caught his attention. Nyyms mind flashed back to the nightmare he and the others had shared. One that he had so brutally fast and gruesomely met his end before waking back in his room. An even that seemed to kick off a whole cascade of events leading up to this moment. Snacked back to this moment. Nyym felt his blood run cold. Before him that only he could currently see was that same yellowish mist.

The Raggedy Man

His voice was barely a whisper as he mouthed the name. Not wanting to believe what he was seeing. But seeing it he was.

Not this time..

Nyym thought this as he heard Rohan say that he believed it was either to keep something out or in. The answer was right in front of him as he heard Rohans words.

Oh it was there to keep something in alright.. I see hulking giant figures, spiders, and tumorheaps. But worst even, I see the same yellow mist from out dreams and hear unintelligible voices. The same that accompanied the Raggedy Man..

At this point Nyym was sure that his friends were gonna thing he had snapped at his mention of the Raggedy Man. But he had saw the proof. It was their and this time it was no dream. It was real and they were gonna have to kill him. Nyym was not looking forward to this fight. Not now when so much rode on them getting to Gorewillow.

Kyt remembered her time in the mist with the one that had greeted her there. The one she so angrily challenged while the fight was going on in the long house. Of course that was before the blow from Bax had broken her out of it.

Well Nyym, let him come. We are here and we are indeed a team. We will face this head on.

She stated as she pulled out her temple sword. Looking around at the group.

Heads up, spirits and guards high everybody. Whatever we do, we do together!

Aodhán unleashed a string of curses at the mention of the Raggedy Man, then sighed heavily. When both Nyym and Kyt were done speaking, the Chelaxian bouncer took his turn, I've been dreading this since waking up from that dream. I don't think I've ever felt more helpless at any time in my life than I did then. I guess it was only a matter of time before we all had to deal with this. He looked to each member of Team Ruby that had previous dealings with nightmarish creature, then brought his caestūs-covered hands up in front of him and cracked his knuckles before clenching them into fists. But I don't intend to let that bloke skate out on his bill. I aim to collect what's due.

Aodhán then threw a series of quick punches before looking at Kyt. Where you lead, knife-ears, I follow. He smiled a grim smile before settling into a crouched stance.

When I'm sure everyone is ready to enter Uskroth's Tomb, I will post the link to the map.

Rohan gripped the wall hard as he looked into the darkness and saw the horror unfolding before him. He didn't know what else to do but prepare for the attack whether we gave it or it did. His guard ready, his mind still very clouded but he pressed on hoping to avenge his previous venture. The ground seem to rubble around him as he stood there starting to focus his energy to bring forth a rock to flail in the direction of the mist but held it for as long as he could wait.

"I'm ready."

The words whispered lightly across his lips.

I can lead the way, and yes light will be an issue. Unfortunately I will not be able to use fiery fire and dancing lights as I can only cast them once a day.

Nyym praised for a moment, then looking to Mesa and Nogusta..

Would either of you have any spells you might could use to light the way. While I can see in the dark. The rest of you will be vulnerable without light till we can find some.

Knowing Liesel-Marie would be right behind him brought him some comfort.
In this he knew he would not be overwhelmed by appointments. And should she miss and hit him??

Well in that case my death will be quick and while a quick pain, it would not last long and I would not suffer. But just the same, I hope she hits what she aims at..

Nyym chucked inwardly at this and gave her a knowing and trusting smile.
With that Nyym turned and headed into the darkness. His eyes watching for any threat and hoping the cave spread out before he reached what was surely waiting for them. As he did so, he could be heard saying...

Come, it's time the Raggedy Man and his minions learned not to mess with our family.

As part of her basic pyrokinesis ability, Liesel-Marie can, in fact, produce an effect similar to the light spell, only it produces heat (whereas the actual spell does not).

As the members of Team Ruby began making preparations to enter the tunnel, the passage suddenly became awash in a brilliant light, a light that was accompanied by a sound reminiscent of many birds chirping.

Aodhán's Fort save: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22 Aodhán is not affected by the attack's thundering infusion, though he does take 11 points of damage.

Aodhán gritted his teeth as he took the electrical blast to the chest, even as the air around him reeked from the smell of burnt flesh and ozone. Once the light from the attack faded, Nyym (whose eyes were the least affected by the sudden brilliance) caught a glimpse of the attacker before it faded from view, confirming what he already knew to be the case.

That the perpetrator was somehow... himself.

I think it's safe to say that combat has begun. Initiative has been rolled. The link for the map of Uskroth's Tomb is at the top of the page. Due to the way the map is set up, I had to group you all inside the tunnel, even though you're technically outside. The squares represent 5 feet of movement.

Update to my previous post. 2 things:

First, I need to reroll the sneak attack damage done to Aodhán, as I used the wrong die. So let's get that out of the way now...

Sneak Attack damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1

So Aodhán only received 8 points of damage, rather than the 11 from the previous post.

Second, the Uskroth's Tomb map has been altered with regard to the placement of the tokens. Nyym is the only PC that has entered the tunnel. As players post their actions, I will update the map as necessary to reflect where they are on it.

Totally metagaming, but I'm a little nervous that there are names on the initiative list that are not represented on the map. I presume they are merely not visible yet. More pertinent to the battle at hand: Am I correct in thinking that "Nightmare Liesel-Marie" is a duplicate, at least in appearance, of my character? And this nightmare character is visible on the map? If so, which one would she be?

PS Go, big fella! Get this party started off right!

I'm not one to say that you should be nervous... but, that's a good feeling to have at this point in time. As for your presumption, that works about as good as any you could've come up with. And as to whether this possible duplicate is visible on the field... well, we'll just have to wait and see. ;)

Rohan tried to step to the side to allow others to enter. Getting an idea of what was happening in front of him. Until next round...

Action: Strike up Sunrod

Given the context of his stated actions, the map has been updated to reflect that. Normal light sheds in a 30-foot radius (6 squares) from the sunrod while increasing the light level from darkness to dim light another 30 feet (6 squares) beyond that. Given that the half-drow has low-light vision, he's able to see 60 feet (12 squares) in normal light and 60 feet (12 squares) in dim light. As a result, both Nyym and Rohan are now granted the opportunity to make Perception checks. Each needs to make two: The first check has a 36 DC while the second is a DC 17. If either of you should succeed on the first one, then you'll notice that someone is hiding a short distance ahead (15 feet for Rohan, 20 feet for Nyym). Succeeding on the second check allows them to notice there are at least two others further up ahead another 35 feet.

Next up is Liesel-Marie...

Nyym blinked in surprise as the lightning blade he knew so well zipped by him to strike a member of team Ruby. Knowing that the Raggedy Man lay ahead did not bother him as much as he knew what he would face. Or so he thought..

What the... no, that couldn't have been..

While his eyes had clearly seen himself throw the Kinetic Kuni, his mind would still fighting with what his eyes was seeing. As he mind and eyes struggled with each other. He.. the alternate Nyym faded from view.

Well that's gonna complicate things abit.

Nyym quickly realized another of his friends had entered behind him as the glow of light appeared from behind him. Not turning to see who it was, he still voiced a warning.

Be on ur guard. There is another "me" in here and he is well hidden.

Nyym knew how crazy it sounded as soon as he said it. But there was no other way to put it. With that realization, Nyym scanned the area ahead. Both eager to get this over with and afraid of what he would see.

Stupid question, but I just gained the ability to cast spells, so I haven't considered this before - do I have to be in a bloodrage to cast my spells? Or is the special thing about my spells that I can cast them while in a bloodrage? If I can cast while not raging, my standard action this turn - before moving - would be to conjure a shield of force emblazoned with a massive bear paw that floats before her. (Just a shield spell, with a tiny bit of flavor)

Liesel-Marie is able to cast spells without being in a bloodrage, but thanks to the blood casting ability, she can do so while bloodraging:

The bloodrager gains the ability to cast spells even while bloodraging. She can also cast these spells defensively and can make concentration checks for these spells while bloodraging. While bloodraging, she can cast and concentrate on only her bloodrager spells (see below); spells from other classes cannot be cast during this state.

Then I would like to amend my actions for this turn as described since I only took a move action originally.

Kyt

The elf moved up behind Nyym, sword at the ready.

Whatever this is, we'll face it as a family, was her defiant response to the half-drow's warning, even as she scanned the area ahead of him.

Thanks to Rohan's sunrod, she was able to make out that the floor dropped away some thirty-five inside of the cavern before them. However, just ten feet before that stood a group of people, four in total, the sight of which sent an involuntary shiver up her spine. Because the four people that she now saw looked exactly like herself, Rohan, and Liesel-Marie, with a duplicate of Aodhán standing just behind the taller man.

Because of where she chose to stand, I can't officially place Kyt on the board. So, for now, the map remains unchanged. With regard to the group that she spotted, going from left to right is Liesel-Marie, Rohan, and Kyt. Aodhán is behind Rohan, and Nyym is nowhere to be seen.

The cleric of Sarenrae needs to make that DC 17 Perception check first, as Kyt hasn't relayed anything as to what she has seen to the rest of her Team Ruby yet. Depending on what is rolled for that check, Nogusta may end up receiving more information than is already had currently. Perhaps even expanding on the left out information from Kyt's Perception check. As he's already made skill checks with regard to Religion and Spellcraft, those rolls will be kept as they are and expanded upon as needed based on his Perception check.

The cleric immediately thinks this must be some kind of trick, some phantom that takes the form of another, or some powerful illusion.

Due to the player's work schedule and their wish to not slow things down, I will bot Nogusta's actions for the round. So lets kick this off with that Perception check.

Perception check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Oof... no help there. Likewise with his Spellcraft check. However, Nogusta's Religion check may be more useful:

The Mwangi cleric of Sarenrae's mind raced as he tried to determine whether there were any undead capable of shifting their physical forms. He could only think of one. Called a totenmaske, this particular type of undead was created from the souls of lustful sinners, feeding on the hopes and dreams of those bitten by it and draining the flesh of those unfortunate enough to be hurt by the creature's claws. It was through the use of the latter ability that this undead creature was able to assume the appearance of others, often keeping its victims alive for as long as possible continue renewing their stolen identities regularly in order to keep indulging in pleasures of the flesh.

Not wishing to see any of his companions befall such a fate, Nogusta strode boldly forward, moving past the others with a purpose even as his hand went to the angelic ankh pendant that served as the symbol of his faith hanging from the long chain around his neck.

Stopping only when he stood just in front of Liesel-Marie, Nogusta presented the holy symbol before him. The Dawn brings new Light. I will let my inner light be a guide for others, and a searing flame against unrepentant evil.

And with those words uttered, a wave of golden electrically-charged fiery energy emanated from Nogusta in a burst that quickly made its way throughout the cavern to the limit of its range.

Channel Energy damage: 3d6 + 5 ⇒ (3, 2, 4) + 5 = 14
Will save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

The light did little to the members of Team Ruby as it washed over them, save to send a tingle across the surface of their skin.

The others in the cavern recoiled in the presence of the holy radiance, but when it had continued past them, they appeared to be unaffected by the burst of divine energy.

Other than to seem slightly annoyed.

While Nogusta's channel has not affected the duplicates like he wanted, he does reveal the presence of the group in the cavern as well as the hidden "Nyym" dupe to those currently in the tunnel.

The map has been updated. Next up is Nyym...

Nyym heard the chant of the Cleric and watched the wave of energy and light pass through the cavern. While it seemed to annoy more then horn the dupes as the light showed where they were, Nyym scanned for any signs of his own alternate. Suddenly to his right, a shadow that did not look quit right.. His dark elf senses kicked in. It had to be..

THERE!!!

Kinetic kunai (ranged): 1d20 + 4 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 3 + 1 = 16

damage: 2d4 + 1d4 ⇒ (4, 3) + (2) = 9

Nyym right hand moved with a quickness that surprised even himself as he sidearmed the shat aimed at the Nyym dupe that was hidden only moments before. While Nyym knew that he could end up in a fight with any off the dipes. This way he would expose the fake Nyyms position.

in my post, I forgot to look at the map. If I had and not misinterpreted earlier posts, I would have known that i would have needed to move up to make the attack even though it is a ranged attack. For this oversight, i do apologize. So for Nyyms move, he will move up and to Nogusta's left. That will be a 15ft move up for Nyym and places him on the opposite side of Nogusta then the dupe.

Two things: Mesa's player is holding their action this round. Also, after having it pointed out to me that Mesa's initiative modifier was incorrect, I went back and checked the rest of the initiatives and discovered more mistakes that were made. They have been corrected and this will be the initiative order going forward:

Antagonist: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Nightmare Rohan: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Rohan: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Nightmare Liesel-Marie: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Liesel-Marie: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
The Raggedy Man: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Kyt: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Nightmare Kyt: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Mesa: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Nightmare Aodhán: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Nogusta: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (12) + 0 = 12
Nightmare Nyym: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Nyym: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Antagonist: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Aodhán: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Antagonist: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Nyym

Nyym heard the chant of the Cleric and watched the wave of energy and light pass through the cavern. While it seemed to annoy more then hurt the dupes, the light showed where they were. Nyym moved further down the tunnel, scanning for any signs of his own alternate. Suddenly to his right, a shadow that did not look quite right. His dark elf senses kicked in. It had to be...

THERE!!!

Nyym right hand moved with a quickness that surprised even himself as he sidearmed the shot aimed at the Nyym dupe that was hidden only moments before. While Nyym knew that he could end up in a fight with any of the dupes, that didn't matter to him. Because in this way, he could expose the fake Nyym's position.

Aodhán

Having witnessed most of Team Ruby enter the opening, Aodhán did likewise, making his way past Rohan, Liesel-Marie, and finally Nogusta to venture further into the cavern.

The stench of ozone and burnt flesh that clung to him, combined with his desire to reach the group duplicates now before Aodhán, nearly prevented the Chelaxian bouncer from noticing the presence of the Nyym duplicate as it attacked him.

Aodhán's movement through the Nyym dupe's threatened square has provoked an attack of opportunity from it.

AoO: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
AoO damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Senses honed from dealing with drunk and cowardly tavern-goers' attacks from behind caused the bouncer's reflexes to kick in ducking under the duplicate Nyym's attempted attack against him before following up with one of his own as the strange triskelion-like mark on Aodhán's forehead began to glow with an eerie light.

Aodhán's attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Critical confirmation: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
caestūs damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

A caestūs-clad hand, limned with a flickering flame, reached toward the Nyym dupe and caught it in the face. The fiery radiance seared the dupe's skin, marking it in the very way that Aodhán was.

You all deal with the others, called out the bouncer. I've got this one.

And that ends Round 1. Round 2 begins now... The map has been updated. Rohan, you're next up!

Rohan took advantage of the fact the the Nymm duplicate was attacked by both nymm and Aodhans attack. This gave him the insight to do the same and the cavern was the perfect place for him. He mustered up his strength and shook the top of the cavern walls with his immense power and a large spike from the ceiling dropped down at Nymm dupe. The power of his onslaught ability kicking in forming the rock spike that came rushing down from the ceiling. In hind sight he actually fired the spike from his position into the air just right to aim at Nymm dupe. It just appeared to becoming from the ceiling.

Onslaught attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15 +1 included for close range within 30ft.

While I like the description of the attack and all, Rohan can't see the Nyym dupe to launch an attack unless he moves from where he currently stands. This is because the dupe has total cover (because of the token, you can't see that there is a protrusion of stone that the Nyym dupe is behind, serving as a solid barrier that prevents Rohan from having a line of effect). Unless he moves, then Rohan can't make the attack, even if he does launch it so that it appears to come down from the ceiling.

Mesa had remained moderately silent during most of the exchange. In truth it was a fine balance of not caring, annoyance, and cluelessness.

Despite her fate being tied to this group some how it seemed, she didn't care for some of them, she didn't know some of the others, but she still liked enough of them to give her assistance for the time being, so when they moved forward she did as well.

Of course at this point both she and Boo were totally expecting an attack.

One of these days she'd be happily disappointed.

Rohan

Rohan took advantage of the fact the Nymm duplicate was attacked by both Nymm and Aodhán. This gave him the insight to do the same and the cavern was the perfect place for him. He mustered up his strength, shaking the top of the cavern walls with his immense power as a large spike came rushing down from the ceiling at the Nymm dupe.

Despite the description used by the player, the Nyym dupe has soft cover (provided by Aodhán) from Rohan's onslaught blast. This gives it a +4 bonus to AC, making it harder to hit. In addition, Aodhán and the dupe are engaged in melee with one another, meaning that Rohan takes a -4 penalty to his attack roll. This reduces the 16 from Rohan's attack roll to a 12.

The Nyym dupe, despite having the majority of its attention focused on the Chelaxian bouncer, caught a glimpse the now glowing Rohan moments before the immediate area around it became became somewhat darker. The dupe threw itself backwards against the cavern wall, just in time to avoid being hit by a large stalactite-like spike.

Next up is Liesel-Marie...
