A foul omen looms in the sky over the scoundrel city of Riddleport, an ominous shadow that defies the light. Is it a curse laid millennia ago by forgotten mages? Does it forewarn against the return of some terrible foe? Or does it portend a terrible

The glyph ignored Kelendra's lies and continued to pour out wave after wave of sonic screams protesting its abuse. Calla's and Bruendor's piercing weapons seemed to have little effect on the glyph, but Lefrik's sweeping slashes with his sword were making huge gashes in the thing.

The glyph continued to shriek, despite Calla's spell, though the effects weren't quite as harsh. Anklebiter's magic chipped away at the glyph, but it was the deva's flaming sword that did the most damage. Great slices were left in the fungid magical glyph, and finally, with Lefrik's last stroke the screaming stopped.

Then, a few seconds after the screaming stopped, one last blast of noise and mental energy exploded from the glyph, even as the now-familiar band of light rushed out to show the next glyph.

Looks like everyone passed the final save...except the deva and Kelendra. Poor Kelendra!

The final wave of mental energy washed over you like a wave over the reefs at high tide. Most of you managed to weather it, steeling your minds or letting them flex in the flow until it passed. Two of you did not.

The deva looked pained and coughed out "I have failed..." before winking out of existence. Kelendra, her mind broken by the mental surge, simply drooled a bit and babbled out a few nonsensical syllables.

Thanks to Anklebiter's spells, you have a safe, dry place to spend the night. It seemed odd to have a cottage made of fungus inside a giant fungus, but as long as the walls and roof held, and the creatures of the night stayed outside, you managed to deal with it.
