Game Master Isaac Duplechain

In the mists of the haunted nation of Ustalav, a dark conspiracy stirs. The death of a trusted mentor is the first clue that will lead to the gates of death, and beyond.

Melk took a sunrod (he had one from the start of the game, in spite of his lack of familiarity). I don't remember if we drank any of the potions already.

Male

So that gives us-

2x Silver Arrow
5x Sun Rod
6x Flask of Holy Water
10x +1 Arrows
5x +1 Ghost Touch Arrows
2x +1 Undead Bane Arrows
5x Potion of Cure Light Wounds
2x Potion of Lesser Restoration
1x Scroll of Detect Undead
2x Scroll of Hide from Undead
1x Scroll of Protection from Evil
1x Darkwood Case

-to divy up. Who wants what?

Melk will take a potion of cure light wounds (along with the sunrod he already has).

I'm in the process of creating a GoogleDocs version of the entirety of Harrowstone Prison. Once I put it up, can I trust you guys not to metagame?

Male

Simply put. Yes.

First Floor

Zoomed Out View

That's some impressive GoogleDoc mapping! And definitely whatever makes your job easier is fine by me.

One thing, I was locked out of the zoomed out view.

Female Elf Alchemist 2

Holy crap, that's amazing.

Maybe I'll get around to adding some doodads and furniture to spice the place up.

Male Human Barbarian 1

Awesome stuff!!! Our first dungeon together!

I assume we're not actually there yet, if we're going to the hut first?

Very nice. Looking forward to dungeon delving :P

Male

Since we're on a map now, will we be doing this round-by-round?

Only when enemies are around, but we will go room-by-room.

Could you maybe color the tiles in some way to indicate that we have/not explored particular areas and what we can see/know? That way it'll be easier not to accidentally know more than we should.

Okay. I colored the unexplored squares black. The area on the right side is visible from the outside, as the wall is collapsed into the sinkhole pond.

ok...there was an initiative, but no response. A few of us were playing catch up to the dread of entering the prison...and I think the Initiative roll was lost in the shuffle...or are we awaiting more dread.

Nevermind, the Dread has arrived :-)

Just the way I like it, my PCs on fire and terrified!

Male (he/him) Irish Physicist (Programmer Dedication) 5

Gah! locked in! I'm terrified in real life too!

Male Human Barbarian 1

That flame just killed the shit out of us, both Tanner and Run dropped to 0 hp. Meep. Maybe we got ahead of ourselves coming here!

I am having a bad day on the boards. I rolled a 20 to resist a dominate person, but since have had about 7 rolls all 5 or less, including a '3' to resist a charm person for the character that avoided the dominate. Funnily he started the bad streak by trying to bluff that he was in fact mind controlled and rolled a '1' with a zero bonus. Now he doesn't have to pretend.

Female Elf Alchemist 2

Don't forget we still have five potions of CLW, so we're alright for now. I used my extract since AFAIK those only help me and can't be used on others until I get the discovery that allows me to use them that way, and I wanted the potions around.

Melk got a double-fail. Bam! (This might be in retaliation for how bad you spanked the bandits in Kingmaker.)

Seems the success of the Kingmaker party rides on the bones of the Carrion party :)

Male Human Barbarian 1

I think we're going to need those potions!

As most of you saw in Kingmaker OOC, I'm going to be out of town for a few weeks starting on the 10th. I'll try to update when I can, but don't expect much.

Thanks for that. I follow the Kingmaker game, but not religiously.

I find I am unable to move my marker on the Harrowstone map. If I try to drag it, I get a forbidden symbol. Should I be cutting and pasting? Not sure. Any help is as appreciated as those healing potions were.

@Tanner: maybe you're not logged in? Only logged-in users can edit/move stuff on that document (provided the logged-in user has rights to do so).

I am logged in as I can see it has my gmail address at the top of the page.

It might be a permission thing maybe. But everyone else just drags their icon around on the map? That is how it should work?

Does the little hand symbol appear? Try changing the color of a square. I may not have given you editing privileges.

Thanks for that. The hand appears on the little strip above the icon symbol. And if I click on that strip I can move it. And I can change colors to the map, so I must have editing privileges. Just didn't know where or how to get that move 'hand' icon to appear.

Good to go now.

heh - I was about to mention that you cannot try by using the convenient middle of the icon - - no no, you have to use hidden secret tech-fu edge-riding techniques ;)

DC 30 Disable Device unlocks the chest.

You do realize we're level 1, right? ;p

Straight from the book, I promise!

You guys need me to move you along to the next room?

This is a difficult time for me to go away on vacation. I'll be back on the 22nd, though. I guess CC has to go on hiatus for the meantime, as we're smack-dab in the middle of searching Harrowstone.

Male Human Barbarian 1

We'll deal. Have fun in your vacation!!!

I am in Stockholm at the moment. I fly tomorrow to Newark, have a layover for a few hours, then finish my flight to Houston. I'll be wrecked by the flight and have to take care of coming home, so I won't be able to post on the 22nd. I have work on the 23rd, but will try to post by phone that night. My first opportunity to really get moving again will be the evening of the 24th. I really look forward to making progress on the TPK!

Trophy hunter and warden might be worth a look. I'll see if I can find a pfr.

Male

I'm going out of town for the next four days, taking the wife and kids to a family get-together, there will be internet but I'm unsure about how much time I'll have to post.

I'll be back on monday.

Azuk'ai is a spider squashing machine! We went quite a while without any combat. This one is turning out to be right on target: slightly dangerous, but not enough to threaten killing anyone. The fact that you're locked in, though...

FYI, once you get out of the Harrowstone and get a rest, all of you except Tanner will be advancing to level 2. (He didn't fight the zombies the first night, so he's a little bit behind. Only 200 points to go, so he may still make it.)

Did anyone want to make any changes to their characters for Ultimate Magic/Combat?

Male Human Barbarian 1

I've been considering Urban barbarian. It would have suited the original Aydan. But now it doesn't rage the same way, and losing himself is part of his story. But maybe he could become an urban barbarian at some point to represent gaining control?

Sounds good.

Good thing Runyon wasn't flat-footed. That could've been pretty ugly.

Female Elf Alchemist 2

No foolin'. I woulda been within two points of death if both those attacks had landed! Owie!

So where are we in initiative? We're waiting on Tanner to go, the the haunt and then I get to go, right?

I have been waiting on Aydan. I will post an action that can be used or not.

This part of the Harrowstone has turned into kind of a meat grinder in terms of traps and combats. You'll be back in Ravengro soon, unless the axe kills you all.

Hey (again;) ppl. Sorry for dropping off the radar but I've been having issues with my internet connection, the wife accidentally pulled the power plug, twice, and I can't connect. I'm posting this from my mothers. Hopefully I'll have this resolved before long.
