Very carefully try to get the coin... of course :P
Yelek moves near the skeleton and slowly and steadily tries to get the coin without disturbing the bones...
Esmeralda Villasani
|
Noting that Yelek is going for the coin, and knowing that the Pharasmin priestess will be a problem if she spots that, Esmeralda goes to talk with her, in hopes of distracting her away from Yelek's actions.
Not sure what you'd want me to roll for that.

Esmeralda finishes 'chatting' with the Phrasmin, and with a glance at the others, she adds loud enough for the others to get the hint, "I think we're done here, Priestess. Would you like for us to assist in sealing this up again before we leave?"
| GM V |
Working together you manage to replace the cover and she closes the tomb with a touch. When you place the coin in the wayfinder the message reads, The path and chamber are complete, hidden behind the nameplate of the requested aspirant and guarded by the word you requested. Fimbrik will add more.
The only thing that makes any sort of sense is the word, "aspirant". An uncommon word, in Absalom it most often refers to those who aspire to the Test of the Starstone - in other words, people who wish to become gods. Only three aspirants have ever succeeded (Iomedae, Norberger, and Cayden Caillean), but there are hundreds of failed aspirants, who are memorialized in the Shrine of the Failed, a temple near the Starstone Cathedral.
Where too now?
Yelek Hssar
|
"Assspirant? Who might this be? Maybe we ssshould go to the cathedral of the ssstarstone... They might have sssome information there" hisses Yelek
Brother Max
|
"Yelek, I think you could be on to something there. But we did say we wanted to talk with this Fimbrik character, and perhaps he can shed some light for us?"
Ellie Doubledown
|
"Unless he's an elf, talking to this Fimbrik will likely be similar to talking to Arkath. Is he also interred here?" Ellie shrugs.
Ellie Doubledown
|
"Dead end." Ellie shrugs. "Uh, no pun intended," she tacks on with a smirk. She glances at Nuo, Esme, Yelek, Terros, and Max in turn, seeing if anyone reacts. "Hall of the Aspirants, then?"
Esmeralda Villasani
|
As she leads the group away from the cemetery, Esmeralda shakes her head. "No, if the message is accurate, we need to know which aspirant in the Shrine of the Failed to search around, as well as a password. Though, I'm betting that Fimbrik had the password, since the message said he'd add more. Maybe if we search the mad gnome's place, we'll find out more from his papers or something. And our mysterious Eylysia also left some sort of clue at the Wall of Names at the Lodge. We should check that out too. "
| GM V |
You head to the home. As you ask around you find out that the gnome is in fact still alive and the Arcanamirium allows the gnome a sizable residence on its campus in Absalom’s Wise Quarter. When you get to his house you notice stacks of newspapers—roughly 2 years’ worth of monthly copies—are piled around the door and crammed into a thin slot at its base. Each rounded corner of the building has a large window, allowing creatures to look into the structure without difficulty. Also the door is locked.
What do you do?
Nuo Fukui
|
Nuo waits patiently. It's not polite to start casting spells at someone's doorstep.
That's sure a lot of newspapers.
Ellie Doubledown
|
"Let's see if there's a key," Ellie remarks, looking for a brick or a large rock or anything else she can break a window with. Or, maybe even a key.

I could unlock it from the inside if there's a latch there.
He'll go through the door and check real quick. If so, he'll unlock it and open it. Otherwise, he'll come back.
Oh, spiritualist's phantoms...
Esmeralda Villasani
|
Esmeralda watchs at Qiang lets himself in, and whistles. "Well, that's one way to ignore locks. Qiang, can you look around for papers or problems? "
| GM V |
It doesnt say theres a latch but we will assume there is because logic and rule of cool.
A large sofa sits awkwardly near the entrance, facing toward the center of the room. Sets of chairs and tables are arranged throughout, and statues of grandiose gnomes occupy the corners of the room. A set of stairs at the northern edge of the chamber leads to an unused basement filled with stacked newspapers. A second set of stairs leads up to an unfinished second floor.
Perception or survival checks please.

"Doesn't have much of a 'lived in' look to it, huh?" Ellie quips. "Well, either way, there's a message here, we think. Let's see if we can't uncover it."
Ellie begins searching for clues. (Will take 20 if there's no rush.)
"You guys see anything out of order?"

"Well, this guy's a wizard of some sort, right?" Esmeralda finally adds. "It wouldn't surprise me if he has some cleaning cantrips set up. Let's just find the paperwork that has the password on it, and just bugger out." And with that, she goes to look in the first door on the right.
Nuo Fukui
|
Agreed, Esmeralda. I don't really like breaking and entering, even if the person is long gone.
Nuo follows Esmeralda to the door.
| GM V |
I hope everyone had a great fourth and now back to the action!
You enter the room and spread out. Around the room, small black globes appear hanging in mid-air about a foot off the ground and expand to about two feet in diameter. The interior of the globe appears black, but is dotted with stars in unfamiliar patterns. From within each globe a multi-legged insect with glowing red eyes pulls itself free of the globe and lands on the floor, mandibles clacking!
