"Of course. Of course." He replies as he begins knotting the rope after the piton is secure. Once he is finished he takes a dagger and cuts the old rope off it's base. He hoists it up and tests it strength. If it seems reliable he will roll it up and strap it to his pack. If the coast is clear he will begin his descent second after someone else goes first. Picking up his sunrod once he gets to the bottom. "It would be wise to pull out any light source we have down here."

Teos grabs the rope and readies to climb down. He waits until he gets an ok before he actually descends.

When Gabs throws down a light you can see that the Rope on the piton ends about three feet from the top. as the light falls the rest of the way down it fall next to a skeleton at the bottom of the pit. (not moving. dead person skeleton, I wanted to be clear lol.)

At Boaz's comment, Badhru shrugs. "I didn't say never. Whatever those are, are they common to tombs?"

As the group gets a good look at the bottom of the shaft, Badhru frowns again. "Yeah, I don't like this. Whoever went down there bought it as soon as they hit bottom? Rani, keep those tools ready, 'kay?"

Dhru leans over the edge and examine the sides of the shaft, specifically around the height of where the rope got broken.

@rani- you see that the skeleton has both its legs broken, as if falling from a great height. you see that he probably died from a falling injury. it would be harder to see if this was a fresh body. however it has been picked clean or rotted enough to see straight to the bone. the room is a deathtrap in the sense that there is no way to get up the shaft without a rope at the top. mirrored images of a warrior are all over the walls in this room. wearing padded armor and a scarab shaped shield.

the shaft is 50 ft down. the climb Dc is 5 I believe with rope.

Boaz says, "Sandlings appear to be sand dunes like the one we moved outside. typically they are not found in tombs however due to lack of a body. they are of the earth elemental type I believe."

Boaz looks at the body and to the rest of the group. "I don't mean to be a party pooper friends, but that wouldn't be a fate I would enjoy. Should someone stay up here to keep a watch on the Line? Would someone be bastard enough to do that?"

Rani looks at Gabs rash descent. "Gabs, that room seems to be a deathtrap from what I can see. There is no visible way out except by this hole. The skeleton's legs are broken as if he fell a long way. We should make sure there is no trap that cuts the rope as someone climbs down. And yes there are people dastardly enough to cut a rope and enjoy the sound of someone screaming to their death. Oh Sorry Gabs, didn't mean to be so graphic."

Rani continues as a side note. "The room has various images of a warrior in leather with a scarab shield. Our late host I presume."

With a sense of urgency Rani adds his efforts to detecting any trap on or in the lengthy hole.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 Now looking for traps in the hole, especially something that might cut a rope.

DC of this climb may be as low as 0 if Gab can brace against the walls of the opening with the rope he just knotted.

After everyone decides who goes everyone give me climb checks as you go down the pit. the description of the room is the same as I told Rani.

after searching the body you find a hammer, and two alchemist fires. the door to the room is closed.

Although unused to climbing ropes, Neve makes the descent without too much difficulty. She looks around, and mutters a brief prayer over the long-dead skeleton before standing up again, smoothing down the folds of her skirt (if she'd thought about it, she'd have opted for leggings, but she didn't so there you are).

@everyone- the walls of this room are rectangular shape it depicts the same man in the front in numerous battles. armies with spears and shields cross the room. while a leader in a chariot directs them. engraved stone double doors. are at both ends. as yall enter the corridor you hear from the sharft. "Your not dead yet right? Hahahah. " as Boaz pokes fun at the party.

"Sefanit, take what time you need. When you're done, we'll work on these doors." Badhru goes over and checks the doors in addition to Rani's efforts.

@rani- You are able to see a vicious slicing blade trap near the doors. on the other side of the hallway.

@badhu you don't see anything.

@sefanit. there are not that many inscriptions on the walls. it is mainly pictographs. however after looking closer at the engravings you see that there is actual gold film imprinted on the walls, if you somehow can scrap it off you might get some gold.

Rani is looking over the doors and hallways. He seems almost diappointed at not finding any on the doors but stops and stares at a point in the halls near the doors down the hall.

"Master Badhru, I don't see any trap on the doors, not sure if that is true or just it's well concealed, but I do see some sort of blade trap past the doors in the hallway right there." Rani points at the place where the trap's almost invisible crack in the wall where the blade would pass through.

"From it's size and slenderness I believe it would deliver a vicious slice to any that attempted passage. Best we take extreme care. If you would assist that would be most helpful."

Rani extracts his lockpicks and with some trepidation moves slowly forward to a point where the trap won't trigger and starts to render it harmless.

Using disable device, according to RAW this is a secret DM roll. My Disable Device roll mod is +6, and I have lockpicks. Hopefully I get some assistance. :)

Neve watches in silence. Whatever her skills, they do not include trap-finding (That's what minions are for, to take the risks, she hears her father's voice saying from distant - and unwelcome - memory).

She utters a brief, if heartfelt, prayer to Shelyn: don't let the beauty of this day be marred by injury.

"Sounds good. Lets get at least a little of this tomb searched before we need to retreat for the evening. The magic lights should be good for now Dhru, but stay close."

Sefanit finishes her copying while the others are still messing around with the trap. She neglects to mention to the others that the gold coloration on some of the wall paintings is actual gold leaf. It seems petty to her to try to scrape it off. It is far more valuable in place, the ancient dignity of the tomb preserved.

She stands well out of the way of the trapped area until the thing is resolved. That sort of devices are not her business to muck about with.


As rani steps up to the "destroyed trap." the stick breaks as the blade shoots out attacking Rani. Rani dives out of the way but is not quick enough as the blade buries itself into his shoulder. After the trap goes off it does not reset.

Neve winces as the trap proves to still be active. Hurrying over to Rani, she mutters a prayer to Shelyn; her hand glows with a warm light, which quickly heals the damage the trap caused.

Rani chokes back a scream as the trap slices into him. "Arrgh, false trigger."

As the healing energies surge through him, Rani relaxes, "Thank you G'verne- Neve." Rani's accent starts at a gutter level then jumps up to polished."And to your Patron Shelyn." Rani turns, "This is going to be tricky, the traps here, in spite of their antiquity, are of high quality, more than I've ... studied."

Rani stares furiously at the next door, trying to not die on it.
