Chronicles of the Silver Rose Company

Game Master Patrick Curtin

This campaign is my attempt to play a canonical Planescape campaign using the updated Pathfinder ruleset. The game actually predates the release of Pathfinder, but we have managed to update as we have needed.

Isaac curses a blue streak as the mage disappears and his monkey slams him.

"Leatherhead wizard and his organ grinder monkey! Under control, I got it all under control!"

The half-elf thinks for a second, then sticks his spear back into the quiver and pulls out his silver short sword, jabbing it at the planetouched ape.

Silver short sword, with inspire courage: 1d20+6=15, 1d6+3=7

Drazek clambers up a large tent. The cloth merchant owning the tent yells and gesticulates at the warlock. Drazek spies the bolting thug and spears him with his red-laced black energy bolt. The blast flies true, blowing the fleeing Hiver off his feet and landing him in a crumpled heap. The tent's sides sag alarmingly, but Drazek manages to clamber down before he collapses it.

Nice job

Issac scores the ape's hide, but the wound is slight

Drazek quickly searches the corpse before heading back at a full run.

Thanks

Justin nods grimly, turns and bolts up the street towards Isaac, leather coat flapping. He gets just close enough to get a clear picture of what's happening, when the cloaked figure steps back and vanishes, and the ape takes a chunk out of Isaac.

Justin curses in almost perfect tempo with Isaac. He pulls another bit of mystic flotsam from his vest and points it at the snarling planestouched ape.

"Big d@mn monkey!" He mutters, then cries "Isaac, duck! Fuego! Venitas Fuego!" Again the flaming, floating mystic rune appears. Justin sticks his hand in it and turns it into another flaming ray that races towards the big monkey.

Scorching Ray (2nd lvl touch attack) even with my boosts I only get one ray (so far) extra +1 to hit/dmg from Beth, and +1 pt dmg from my wiz Evocationists ability. PLUS Amulet (Yes, its also a Empowered spellshard: Scorching Ray) :)

1d20+6=20, 4d6+2=16

Add 50% from spellshard, (+8 pts) for total of 24 pts fire dmg (Now watch the big @$$ monkey be fire resistant!) ;P

EDIT- And nice chase Drazek! I could see you running up the sides of tents and stalls! :)

Well, there's fire resistant, and then there's fire resistant, LOL!

Justin's scorching ray flies true and singes the large fiendish monkey's hide. The devil ape howls, black fur crisping from the heat of the arcane blast. The smell of burning hair mixes with the ordure, ripe garbage and burnt bacon smells already fragrancing Lot's Lane.

Bah, check away... we got this covered. :)

She says as she rolls a 1 for her next hit. You watch.

OK, one thug and one ugly ape to go ..

The bleeding thug tries to drag Bethany down to Hell with him. He swings his notched short sword with a desparate strength ...

Same deal, Power Attack for -4 ATK +8 DAM

ATK: 1d20=19, DAM: 1d6+10=12

... and scores a telling blow to the harpy bard. The blade sinks in deeply, Bethany's blood soaking her shift as the wound gushes. The ferret-faced basher snarls at her as he feels the strike go true.

"See you in Baator, b!tch!"

FYI, the previous Power Attack I forgot to add +2 Dam per normal, but it really doesn't matter as those two attacks didn't hit ..

The Ape has set himself fully engaged with Issac, and brings his claws and bite to bear.

Full attack .. C/C/B ...

1d20+7=23, 1d20+7=8, 1d20+2=5, 1d6+5=8, 1d6+5=8, 1d6+2=5

Hmm ...mixed bag..

One claw rakes Issac 8 DAM , but another paw accidentaly hits a nearby stone wall, snapping a talon off. The pain throws the devil ape's gnashing fanged mouth off, the fetid breath and slavering jaws just missing Issac's neck. The monkey howls in frustration.

NEW ROUND!!

With that, she spins, opening up a terrible wound across the thug's throat, his lifeblood gushing out to hiss on the rain slick street.
Attack with Masterwork Sawtooth Sabre (Inspire Courage). (1d20+7+1=22)

No lie! Good job

Bethany slices the thug's throat cleanly with her sabre as he finishes his curse. His squinty eyes widen momentarily, then glaze over. He drops his sword and falls to the mire-slicked cobbles, gobbling obscenely as his carotid empties.

Thanks, but I can tell I'm gonna pay for it with a horrendous run of 1's and 2's soon enough. Mark my words... :(

Letting out a screech of triumph that echoes across the stalls, Bethany turns and takes to the air, soaring down the alley to land behind Isaac.

Move action for the turn, wasn't 100% sure if that blow would kill him (hence I just gave a wound description, not a kill) so I didn't want to post a move in case he was still kickin'

As you wish ..

Drazek vaults from his canvas perch, ignoring the curses being hurled at him by the merchant beneath the tent's awning. He sprints to where the crumpled body lies, observing a few young preteen boys sidling up to the corpse as well. They quickly dart off like jackals when the lion approaches.

Drazek slits the thug's leather beltpouch (he has but one) and sprints back to the scene of the attack.

OK 3 rounds got you there, got you the beltpouch and back to the fight. You can move and strike if there is anything left at that point.

M Human Witchblade 6{Hexblade 1/Warlock 5(favored)

So 3 count starting this round?

The ape's attacking from the alley, right? So there's no way I could flank him? This is assuming I can't tumble around him or anything....

Ignoring his wounds for the time being, Isaac switches his weapons yet again, sheathing the short sword in favor of the cold iron mace in the small of his back.
"I hope you come back as a damn butterfly in your next bloody life, monkey. Silver wasn't it, so..."
Cold iron heavy mace: 1d20+6=8, 1d8+3=4

Yeah he is pretty much framed by the alleyway. Tumbling on these streets would be a last resort too ...ewwww...

The large fiendish ape hoots and prepares to strike again.

We'll have to see how Justin fares ...

Naught points to a line of folks entering the tower.

" Ask for her assistant Grendyll and tell her that Naught sent you over."

"We'll do that," Karrin says, "we got to get to the bottom of this. Thanks for the help. We're still trying to find out who to ask and who to trust here. Speaking of that, do you know a ganger by the name of Mordrigaarz? He's hunting this . . . thing as well."

IC & I have a love/hate relationship going. I love online dice-rollers! But they hate to give me too good of rolls, or too often,... ;P

Justin gives Bethany a one-sided grin as she lands behind Isaac. Then frowns as he reviews his options. He raise his right hand, concentrates, and a thin line of crackling electrical energy arcs thru the air to touch the rain-soaked Ape on the chest, scorching the already burnt hair on the massive pectorals.

Use Energy Ray Wiz ability, electricity. All bonuses from Inspire Courage added in,

To Hit (Touch Attack)1d20+6=18, Electrical Dmg: 1d6+3=7

"Hey! Little Joe Punk! Where's yer' organ, monkey? Let's dance!" Justin cries, hoping to distract and possibly anger the ape enough to charge him, and give Isaac and Bethany a free shot at it.

And hoping deep down that it doesn't work,...

The electrical charge strikes the devil ape. His skeleton is visible briefly as the power courses through him. Bethany and Issac feel a bit of a jolt as well as the electricty spreads through the ape's feet to the puddles below

No damage, just atmosphere ..LOL

The fiendish monkey roars, but seems intent on making Issac his Koko b!tch

1d20+7=9, 1d20+7=8, 1d20+2=17, 1d6+5=6, 1d6+5=6, 1d6+2=6

The electrical jolt has slowed up the devil ape's reflexes, and he howls as another talon on his bad paw is ripped off as he attempts to swipe Issac's bonebox off his neck. His huge jaws snap not six inches from Issac's face. He is looking distinctly punchy at this point.

NEW ROUND! Drazek, you are cutting the downed thug's beltpouch this round ..

More than a little punchy himself, Isaac's attack misses again.

Seeing Justin's & Isaac's attacks do nothing but enrage the creature, Bethany takes to the air once more and comes down behind it, directly opposite the harried Godsman. She spins and brings her Sabre around, slashing across the creature's chest, but unsure if it penetrated the flesh.
Attack with Masterwork Sawtooth Sabre (Inspire Courage, Flanking). (1d20+7+1+2=17)
Damage (Inspire Courage). (1d8+1=8)

Issac's attack swipes close, but fails to connect with the evil monkey. Bethany's sabre gashes the ape, but it remains standing, swaying slightly.

Justin then the ape ..

I'm a true adventurer, now! With a year out of the game, I grew to miss this. Tumble to that? Anyhow, let's get a move on. Hive ain't getting any safer."
