OK, Taenweth, I need a DC 8 strength check from you. To move the cart. Actually, to see if you can move it fast enough.

Direction of miss: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Regina flings her glass bottle containing its flammable mix. She is too hurried and excited, the bottle slips from her fingers and goes flying wild, bursting on the ground at the base of the palisade.
You missed by 1.

Pyros: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Regina: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Round 1
The bandits seem stunned at the sudden resistance. They certainly weren't expecting this sort of welcome.

Players go in order of posting. Bandits follow. You can use your readied attack roll if you like, Autumn.

Yeah I'll keep that roll!

Seeing Regina fling her bottle, Autumn released her arrow. Letting it fly through the air to it's target.

Frostbite whined and looked up to Herger, awaiting orders.
Remember, Autumn lent you Frostbite. So you're who she needs orders from.

Surprise Round check

STR check to move the cart (DC 8): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Oleg's horsecart seems like it might have settled into the earth, but then the wheels roll up out of their ruts. Taenweth succeeds in moving the cart. It will provide an obstacle, but one that's not terribly hard to climb over, or simply go around.

Herger chanted his prater to Erastil and cast Bless on his new friends, hoping ol' deadeye aided their strikes to ring true. Then he whistled for Frostbite hoping to see how the chaos began to react before he tried to calm it, with the valiant wolf's, and the others help.

I believe it would be a standard action for me to order Frostbite to do something so i will get to that next round, +1 to hit, =1 saves versus fear. Only person whom it doesnt hit would be Oleg it has a 50 foot burst

"Oleg's found himself some sell-swords. Ain't that cute." The bandit draws his dagger and begins to dismount. Pyros unleashes his fiery attack in response.
The bandit leader and his horse manage to avoid the flames jetting from Pyros' hand, but the two bandits behind him are not so lucky. The men curse, and the horses squeal in pain as the fire washes over them.
Regina flings another bomb, this time she scores a hit. The fiery liquid burns the bandit, while the splash burns the horse.

Autumn looses an arrow, which strikes into the same bandit that Regina hit, with a meaty thunk. The man does not go down.

Taenweth, and her cart push the flaming, arrow struck, bandit back, the man and horse moving together.

The bandit leader finishes his dismount, and makes a vicious hooking stab at Pyros' neck, with his dagger. The ifrit fends the attack off with his sword hilt.

Two of the bandits struggle to control their panicked horses, the third keeps his in check, but his attempt to leap gracefully from the saddle turns into an awkward clamber, as his foot sticks in the stirrup momentarily. A move action to dismount.

Herger's spell kicks in, the blessing of Erastil will help in the ongoing battle.

Oleg disappears inside the main hall, his crossbow is within.

Round 2

Although annoyed that the bandit she rammed had not come off his mount when she hit his horse with the cart, the Elf noted that Regina, Autumn, Herger and Frostbite could handle him well enough and had him well covered.

Spying the newly dismounted bandit (red), Taenweth, with rapier in hand, moved steadily toward the brigand. Pyros, even with his clever fire trick, was more than a little outnumbered, and, as she moved closer, she saw that Oleg now held a crossbow and was pointing it at the bandits in front. Well, now, the trading post proprietor has a little fire in his belly, afterall.

Round 3

"Good wolf," she praised Frostbite on bringing down the bandit she had struck with her rapier only moment's before.

Putting her foot into the stirrup and rising swiftly up onto the saddle, Taenweth settled the horse promptly to make it move closer (side by side) with the (pink) bandit's horse. Holding the reins in one hand, she thrust her rapier toward the brigand.

Unfortunately, with all the effort to settle and then move the horse, Taenweth's mind was otherwise occupied with keeping the unfamiliar and skittish horse calm that her thrust went awry and she missed her intended target. Taenweth growled her displeasure and then called to the priest, "Herger, get on a horse and let us sandwich this brigand between us!"

Taenweth smiled as the brigand gave up the fight and threw his weapons to the ground. Least he isn't completely foolish, she mused of the bandit as she sat atop the horse who now seemed to be better behaved.

Her eyes took in her companions - they had talents and in time they would work together seamlessly. As Autumn asked the priest to check the man for hidden weapons, Taenweth dismounted and looked up to Regina on the walk, "Little One, come down and help me gather the horses."

Pyros' words filtered in as he began to ask questions of the brigand. The man of fire didn't possess her family's subtlety with a last survivour/prisoner, but she suspected he was more a man of prompt action, so she would leave the interrogation to him, for now, except to add, "Begin by telling us your name and your rank among your people. If you fail to answer any of my companion's questions, I shall tie you up, among other things." There was a subtle threat underlying her words but she smiled her strange, bright smile again and began to move among the bodies, collecting the bandits' horses.

Nodding and slowing wondering down with a little more grace than she had the night before, though her hands are clinched tight. "Do you think we could get the priest, Herger, to heal that horses?" waving a shaky hand at the horse with the burns.

Keeping out of the interrogation, since those can get bloody and the others seem to have asked the question she would be curious about. Sidestepping the bodies and not looking down at them while dealing with the horses.

Taking a 10 with handle animal give me a 17 which should be enough to get the horses inside the barn.

In a sullen tone, the bandit answers: "Boss is the Staglord. His keep is down on the Tuskwater. At the mouth of the Sellen."
He smirks. "Our numbers are like the blades of grass. Staglord's gonna rule the River Kingdoms one day."
He eyes Taenweth. "Name's Happs Brydon." He shrugs. "Never really thought about it. General maybe."

Herger finds a flask of alchemist's fire hanging from Happs' belt in a small net bag. Also tied to his belt with string are 3 caltrops.
Happs is wearing leather armor, and wool clothing (cold weather outfit.) His green, hooded cape is clasped with a silver stag skull brooch.
Happs' belt pouch contains a flint and steel, 4 fishhooks, and a ball of fishing line. Also there are 13 tindertwigs, 15gp, 6sp, and 9cp.
He has a quiver of 20 arrows, a sack containing 2 days worth of trail rations, and a small iron pot.
The bow is a composite longbow. Also 1 dagger.

Taenweth made an annoyed sound at mention of the bandit leader's title. "Your leader is no Stag Lord. Nay, no common brigand may use the title of the god of my people." The Elf's eyes were now a blazing green. Taenweth had noticed the smirk and the bluster upon the remark that this mere bandit leader would some day rule over the River Kingdoms. "Lofty ambitions can mean a swifter downfall. We shall see who will rule over the River Kingdoms." This time the Elf smirked...and her eyes held Happs in their fixed sight.

Breaking the gaze with a surprising ease, Taenweth looked over to Pyros; the horses' reins in her hands, and added, "Tie him up or kill him - I leave the decision to you for he has given us very little detail or reason to keep him alive. It matters not to me if he dies for this false Stag Lord. If they're numbers are like the blades of grass, then we shall be the scythes to cut them down." There was no mirth or jest in her voice or meaning.

"I've never met him." Happs tells the elf woman. "But from what I hear, there's nothing ordinary about him."
Happs takes on a shrewd expression. "What do you owe these traders, these coin grubbers." Oleg's expression grows stormy at this.

The bandit continues. "Come work for the Staglord. Have what you hold. Fight on the winning side. I can get you in."

"No, we're people who have been hurt by your kind before." Autumn said as she grabbed him by the front of his shirt and pulled him closer to her. "A wolf doesn't work for a stag." She said, giving him a wolfish grin once more, her steel grey eyes as cold a forged steel. "We hunt them down." She told him before she pushed him back to the ground. "I say we strip him to his small clothes and send him in for being a bandit." Autumn told her group without taking her eyes off of Happs. Frostbite giving a small growl at the bandit as her stance shifted.

"Though I'll go with what the majority of you wish to do." Autumn told them as she ran her hand down Frostbite's back, but didn't stop her from growling at Happs.

There was only one true Stag Lord and she would not work for the falsely proclaimed bandit leader.

Just as she was about to address the bandit's slur of the Levetons when he himself and his band of thieves made a livelihood of taking coin and goods from hardworking people, Autumn had stepped up and browbeaten the man. Taenweth smirked; impressed by the wolf woman's mettle, and, held her tongue until Autumn was through with the brigand.

Focusing on Autumn and her growling wolf, "I'm in agreement with your plan. He will need to be sent back to Brevoy." Turning to Oleg, "Do you have some place where we can secure and hold him properly until he can be transported?"

"I have a noose for his neck." Oleg growls. "I'm going to string those others up as a warning against banditry. I'll do the same for him."
Oleg spits at the ground.
"Penalty for banditry is hangin'. He's a bandit, he should hang. They'll do the same for him in Brevoy."

Your charter can be referenced in the campaign information tab. It's pretty specific about bandits.

Herger had already moved again to close with the man. He was of the same mind as their host.

Master Oleg is correct. There is no need to waste space or time transporting this one to the gallows in Brevoy... from his bluster and their earlier... threats he would have done much worse to us had situtions been different.

He began to try and tie up the bandits hands behind his back.

If truth be told, the Elf was somewhat surprised when she heard them say he would promptly hang rather than be transported to the authorities in Brevoy. They didn't seem like the types to seek punishment as a first resort. Yet, she did not not know them.

Taenweth had no qualms in killing the bandit, but she paused a moment to think. She then looked to the owner of the trading post and her companions and then settled her gaze on Happs Brydon, curious to hear his answer.

"Under the Charter, the Swordlords of Restov have decreed that the punishment for unrepentant banditry is execution by sword or rope. Happs, would you remain unrepentant this day and die or would you repent, change your ways from this day forth and swear allegiance to the Levetons and our party? We would require that you tell us all you know and if you lie or hold anything back, we will know and you will die. If you join us, then you will do so wholeheartedly or you will die. If you attempt to double-cross us, you will die. If you are a reasonable man, you will see this deal would serve you well and you will not end up like your friends, there. What say so? Will you give up banditry for good, join our cause and serve us well or will you hang until your last breath this day?"

Taenweth's voice was steady as she spoke and set the deal before the bandit. She had not conferred with her companions and so she did not know how they would take the offer she had made. Still, she was not too concerned with that at the moment, for more detailed and accurate information would certainly come in handy in these wildlands and an ex-General of the false Staglord would know much of the goings on in the area. And if he resolutely refused to change his ways, then the priest and the proprietor could string him up right alongside the others and she would not stop them.

Listening to the bandit talk with a look of agitation that turns into a smirk when Autumn offers her counter argument. Stupid man.

Then that smug feeling vanishes and her stomach drops when Oleg speak up. That was in the charter and the deserve it.. they do. Keeping her place and nodding along with Taenweth. The nodding stops when Taenweth continues past hanging the man. Regina stares at the bandit. Please do not be dumb. Enough have died today. Though I am not sure we could trust him.

Such justice would be well within our authority under the charter. Pyros thinks at Taenweth's words. Sheatheing his sword, he crosses his arms an stares Happs down, quite willing to see the man hang.

"Seems an easy choice actually. I'd rather not dance at the end of a rope. Says Happs with downcast eyes.

"He certainly does not want to swing, by his neck, from a tree, but I see the malice in his eyes and smirk upon his lip. Best he die with the others this day for he cannot be trusted," she said to her companions and the Levetons.

Turning her deep green eyes on the bandit, she shook her head, "I warned you to be straight with us, but you were too foolish and arrogant to heed my words. So be it."

Looking to Herger and Oleg Leveton, she added, "You may hang him, now."

He frowned and glared at the man after Taenweth's words. He had sounded sincere to Herger, but elve's senses were greater than mans.... at least that was how he understood it.

Keep watch on him.

He began simply pushing them man torwards Pyros and Taenweth turning to head up the stairs torwards the walls to find the sight of Regina's discomfort. He frowned as he moved closer to her leaning down to whisper some comfort into well near her ears she was so tiny.

You ... dont have to watch little one, I would consider it a kindness if you checked on the horses, especially the hurt ones. When this grim business is done I will be in to tend to them.

He simply moved past her running hands through his long hair almost wildly trying to compose himself as he head for the stairs that led up to the walls to find... the best spot to set the rope. Once he found a good spot he started to make the noose and set it properly into the wall.

Once he was prepared on the wall he waved torwards the others to bring the condemned along his mind already running along the proper words and prayer to give the condemned... if he chose to take it of course.

Glancing up at the taller man and shaking her head. "We have passed judgement on him and sentenced him to ha.. to hang. I was taught that if I am to pass judgment then I must see the sentencing out."

Turning her eyes back to the bandit, "I promise I will check on the horses again when this is done. They are in the stalls right now though."

Taenweth looked to Pyros and Autumn as Herger waited for the condemned bandit to be brought up to him.

"Let us finish this," she uttered to her companions and waited for Pyros to lead them up the stairs to the wall walk. She made certain that Happs' hands were bound securely and he would not try anything reckless to gain his freedom. She gave him a certain push to get him moving.

Taenweth allowed her gaze to move to Regina and she simply nodded her head at the girl's determination to see the sentencing through. She'd have a quiet word to Regina after the hanging.

Nodding in agreement, Pyros takes a deep breath, then takes Happs by the arm and frog-marches him up the stairs to where Herger stands ready.

Looking out over those standing below (Olegand Regina at least, perhaps others? Not sure if Taenweth came up the stairs as well, and if Svetlana has come out of hiding)

Pyros pauses, then says a few words. "Happs Brydon, you have been caught in the very act of banditry. In Brevoy, who claims these lands, the sentence is death. Oleg Leveton, master of this outpost, has likewise sentenced you to hang. As agents of Brevoy, and with the permission of master Leveton, we hereby condemn you to hang by the neck until dead."

Pyros nods to Herger, who slips the noose over Brydon's head. Without further ceremony, Pyros shoves the bandit roughly off the wall walk.

Autumn shook her head as Pyros pushed Happs off the wall walk.

"It is one thing to have to turn to stealing to live... it's another thing to enjoy ruining everyone else's lives and murdering." Autumn hissed as she knelt next to Frostbite, running her hand through the wolf's fur.

When Happs was dead Autumn went about gathering the tools she'd need to make graves for him and the other bandits. She may have hated what they where, but she wasn't heartless. Even they should have a proper burial.
