In my defense, I was lurking and watching the gang's exploits since back in the early days.

...and I'm back online. My internet co. showed up right as I was moving in. Now THAT's service!

Between the nekkid elves, lusty pirates, idiotic chase, and these terrible dice rolls, I'm surprised no one's suggested playing this until now.

Honestly, with a crew like this, the ship ought to be named the Benny Hill.

Not that I'm trying to influence my scarred and erudite companion... but bullrushing the nekkid bloke off the side of the cliff seems like a decent option :P

Wee heads up shipmates - me and the missus are heading off to Dubai for our annual festive break with my brother-in-law and family from tomorrow.

I'm not back until the PM of 30th of Dec, and while I hope to post if/when I can, we may be pretty busy so presume it'll be sporadic at best.

I'll get some posting done throughout today, but likely tomorrow will be too busy and wanted to give everyone the heads up now.

All, I may be a bit distracted for a while...my mom is in hospital with a fractured vertebra (T-12) and an infection that needs to be cleared up before the docs can glue her vertebra back together. Hoping she gets sprung before Christmas.

I guess I won't have easy internet access this week so not sure what's up with the map, but you've got 3 hostiles left and 3 hostiles right of Kaul and Jim.

As an aside I'll be starting the great familial migration tomorrow through to 6 January 2019. We will be driving somewhere in the region of 2,000 km over the time and flying about 8,000 km... so shall be intermittently unable to post or otherwise.

Between the contagion Whitecoat spread on the ship and hawanatitis on the island, I've been working under the assumption that all of Corliss's 3rd-level spells have been used for remove disease spells and all his 2nd-level ones for lesser restoration spells to undo ability damage on crew members.

I don't want Corliss to actually say this in front of the qlippoth and give away that he's no real threat at this point, but I figure Jim likely would've known this from seeing Corliss treating the crew for the two maladies.

Corliss- Don't believe that you ever gave me an updated spell list as you mentioned here.

I certainly don't think that you would have blown all your upper level spells. I didn't catch that that was what you were thinking. All you mentioned was creating some water. I had noted that all the sailors were recovering except the 3 crazy ones. At most, you may have blown one or two remove disease and restoration spells to see if they worked.

OK. I'll assume I used up 2 3rd- and 2nd-level slots and update the spells prepared list on my character sheet.

Just a short note from the short party member. I'll be off on a bus to Sydney soon for a 3 day Magic the Gathering extravaganza where I'll be furrowing my brow and shuffling small pieces of cardboard before hopefully turning many blue and red coloured things to the right and slamming down a spell with X in it's cost.

As such, I shall be out of internettyness and given that my modicum of gray matter shall be expended on the vagaries of the draw-go format... I shall be relatively silent for a period.

Hopefully I shall be vociferous once more on the 4th of February.

So to clarify perhaps, Corliss doesn't know much about demon binding though I believe Dibbets very recently picked up a book about it. However, the big Hawana just implied that it is trapped by a magic circle of protection from law which Corliss' dissipated spell attack upholds.

So no easy answers here. You could just walk away, but as Jim surmises, the red whale is still out there and under the Clippy's sway. You could try and cave-in the place which might be dangerous, and whale. Fixing the cage is way past your arcane know how, and whale.

From what you've seen in your first round against the Qlipper, the thing doesn't have spell resistance and Corliss' holy laser was the most effective attack. It isn't totally electricity proof so a full on lightning bolt from Dingus would likely do some damage. and the bane arrows would get past the DR so you've got a better chance this time.

of course, there's the small matter of a sacrifice to get at the big Hawana...

This is actually a really nice selection. We've already been through Salvage Op and Tammeraut's Fate. I've also looted a fair bit of U1. Too bad Pett didn't retain his rights to The Styes though.

Sorry, Dibbs. It's hard to play smart when you're dealing with idiotic NPCs. Jim's diplomacy moved them from hostile to unfriendly, but they won't be further swayed without some compliance.
