And this gets us to exploration of the Greenbelt. Is the group traveling straight through the area, or taking the time to explore as well? For simplicity I will be labeling each area as a 'hex'. Oleg's Trading Post sits at the apex of one of these hexes. The party will be traveling through the hex. Minimum travel time is 4 hours. You have 3 hours until dusk. Exploring the hex takes a minimum of one day.
I will need survival(track) rolls from those attempting to follow the bandit's trail.
I will also need to know if the party is just traveling straight through, or taking time to explore. If traveling straight through, are you traveling after dusk? If so, at what speed? (Normal, slow, very slow)
And then I will also take perception rolls from everyone as well.

Aedon Tellefleur |

It looks like:
Mounted: Aedon, Rufus, Kari, Giz, Salvator
TBD: Lyster
Aedon is not leading a mount, and recommends against taking any extras if the discussion comes up.
As for exploration, Aedon's priority is to find the bandit camp as quickly as possible and deal with them. If circumstances are favorable, he would be in favor of exploring hexes on the trip back to Oleg's.
He also wants to press on during dusk, but is in favor of traveling at a "slow" rate of speed.
Perception rolls in Gameplay thread.

Gizsmith Glitterbyte |

Gizsmith would be in favour of surveying the hexes, but one would imagine he would be outvoted on this account as well.
As for perception, I'm fine with you just using my passive perception (13) for things unless I'm specifically looking for something.

Rufus Fitzroi |

Rufus is also in favor of making all reasonable haste to the bandit camp & exploring on the return trip. As to traveling after dark, as long as we are still on plains, yes but at slow speed.
Go ahead & use some of Rufus' blind rolls for Perception. His modifier is +1.

Rufus Fitzroi |

Hey DM Fnord? It is a DC 20 Sense Motive check to 'get a hunch'. Would it be allowable to make such to determine if the feeling of being watched is because we really are, or because we are just having a case of nerves.
Or would that be a superfluous roll?

Kari of the Wylds |

Okay guys, been feeling like crap of late, I'll read up and try to get a post in about what I've been up to while ya'll have been roaming. Just assume she's been scouting and that's why you haven't see her :P

Rufus Fitzroi |

I am hopefully being over sensitive here, but I just want to make certain I am not stepping on anyone's toes. Rufus gets fidgety before a fight, especially when he doesn't know what his comrades are capable of or how they are likely to act if/when things go wonky. His response to this is to do everything he can, reasonable or not, to make certain the team is in the best shape it can be for the fight.
He will probably get better about it as we go along, as long as we don't start racking up PC deaths.
Of course if one of those deaths is his, the issue becomes self-correcting. :)

Kari of the Wylds |

It's all in the dice for Kari. 4 is a respectable attack modifier for her build, but this dice roller hates her.
Rufus seems to be written for taking over the leadership role while everyone else just seems to work around him within the perimeters he sets. Like any good mostly chaotic group. :P

Gizsmith Glitterbyte |

Ya, don't worry about it Rufus. We just have a lot of strong individualists in the party, so friction is bound to arise. I'm not taking personally, Gizsmith might, but he'll get over it.

Kari of the Wylds |

hey guys. husband was sick, then went to a cabin in southern norway to stare at each other with limited internet capabilities. not something we get to do often since i'm leaving in another month.
Third round should be fun.

DM Fnord |
Hi all, work has gotten a bit busier, and will be for the next few weeks, so I am officially slowing down posting to twice a week from me for significant events, I'll still be checking in daily and can move things along a bit, but full turns will need to slow down just a little.
I am enjoying the game, I know that pbp can be slow paced and I enjoy having all of you involved.
Regards,

Gizsmith Glitterbyte |

Hey All,
As dealing with defeated non-monster enemies is going to be a running theme in this campaign, I think we should come to a general consensus on how we want to deal with them. Now, I generally put myself in the coup de grace, loot, repeat camp of adventuring, but as we will be trying to build a kingdom, I can see the value of not just depopulating the countryside.
So, I'm thinking that we could try to convert them to the cause via diplomacy and dump them off at Olaf's for the moment.
Anyways, whatever we decide, we should find a way to streamline the post combat prisoner discussion. If we RP every time, this AP is going to take forever.
What do you guys think?

Rufus Fitzroi |

I agree that it would be a good idea to 'standardize' our means of dealing with the aftermath of such encounters. I also think that streamlining 'those' interactions might be helpful in the long run. However as I feel we are still establishing our character interactions, I don't believe we should streamline these interactions too much just yet.

Haldhin |

I'm with Gizsmith on finding a quicker way to resolve incidental rp encounters.
We're not moving that fast as it is, and now we're going to be slowing down even more. That's not necessarily a problem for me, but spending a bunch of time and effort writing posts about throw-away encounters just doesn't seem like a good investment to me.
If it's somebody important, then sure, let's hash it out, but I don't think it's a problem if we set some basic guidelines about how to treat "thugs" that don't really have an important role to play in the AP.

Kari of the Wylds |

If she's the one that touched that little boy, you're going to have a flanking pardner there, buddy.
'Course, if he raped Celeste, Kari's going to hunt him down and bleed him slowly. And take joy in it, too.
CHAOTIC neutral.

Gizsmith Glitterbyte |

I'm here.

Rufus Fitzroi |

Aedon, you have a fairly solid Perception & Stealth, how about you make the rolls & we proceed from there? You were working point with Kari in the first place.

Rufus Fitzroi |

Dude, if I'd been drinking when I read that, I would have ruined my monitor.
Glad you're back. Hopefully we will hear from Kari soon & we can get back in motion.

Rufus Fitzroi |

My posting for the next week or so is going to be curtailed I fear. I should still be able to post at least once or twice a day, but not likely to be much more than that.

Lyster Valdis |

It is with great sorrow that I have to announce my temporary departure from the paizo forums.
I've had a great time playing in all the games on the forums but university and my new job has axed my free time enough that I've had to consider just how much time I can realistically spend on the forums gaming.
Rather than continue playing with very subpar posting, that I feel could be so much better if I had the time to make the posts I wish I could make, I'd rather put my own PbP games on pause and bow out of this one than continue playing at a horrible level.
I wish you all the best on your journey through the Stolen Lands and may the gods be with you.

Rufus Fitzroi |

I am certainly amenable. I definitely will miss Kari & Lyster, but I have also been enjoying the game so far very much & would prefer it continued. Considering we have lost half our arcane & all our divine that becomes problematic, though not impossible.

Gizsmith Glitterbyte |

Honestly, with fewer people the game will go quicker. Gizsmith can heal and really once we can get our hands on some wands of CLWs we'll be fine. In combat healing isn't really all that great anyways.
I was thinking about switching to a pure wizard, but with Kari MIA, I guess I'll just stay a bard (Though I wouldn't mind being able to switch a couple of skill points around and maybe change my feat *hint, hint*)
I'm going to end up with a pretty ridiculous UMD modifier and that can give us access to pretty much every spell ever.
That being said, I would be fine with filling in the gaps.

Aedon Tellefleur |

Aedon is quickly becoming more and more of a scout/spy/warden/person-who-does-things-outdoors kind of character. Definitely not my intention when creating him, but I like the fact that he's growing in a different direction than what I originally intended, so I'll probably head that way with him. He'll still be a "rogue" for class purposes.
Mark me down as ambivalent for new people - I'm fine with our current core, but I wouldn't be opposed to new people if the DM thinks we need them.
