Sun Xiao
Snake Style: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (11) + 26 = 37
Sun deflects the claw, and whacks the giant monster for his insolence.
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (20) + 16 = 36
HOLY SHIT
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (20) + 16 = 36
WHAT
Damage: 2d8 + 24 ⇒ (1, 7) + 24 = 32
Remove 6 hit/damage from my previous attacks, each. I thought the AMF was something he had to activate.
Erd
I as well. What's the radius on the antimagic?
Erd vs. frightful presence (excluding magic item stuff): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Bili's save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Sun Xiao
Garren Turn. meantime there is a frightful precense, DC 23 or be shaken. for anyone at 200 ft or less.
Missed this yesterday.
1d20 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 13 + 2 = 24
Balls. Missed it by 1.
Edit: Man that banner is neato.
I as well. What's the radius on the antimagic?
[dice=Erd vs. frightful presence (excluding magic item stuff)]1d20+11
[dice=Bili's save]1d20+6
Somehow I doubt the AMF radius is 200 feet, so I'd go ahead and include your magic item stuff.
Rynjin
You do that weird thing where you put the damage roll right after the attack roll, so I always think it's the attack result.
Ah well. Being Grappled doesn't hurt me a whole ton anyway. It hits me, Grapples me (barely), and moves me adjacent to itself, at which point the attacks complete as usual, I would think.
If not, the first attack hits (it was a 20), and it needs to make those Fort saves vs Daze and Stun.
Erd
Ah . . . then in the interest of not having to figure out what happens to a resizing magic armor when you change size in a place that prevents magic, Erd moves around behind the creature rather than following Sun. To-hit drops down to 42 thanks to shaken.
ALso yeah I forgot about banner's bonus. +2 vs. fear to everyone, not that it helps Bili or I.
Rynjin
Cool. Did I still have a valid charge lane? I'd be sad to see all those pretty 20's and 19's go to waste. Though, now my Snake Fang crit happens at least, since he missed on that attack. So I can get in at least one hit. 2 if he was within range of a single move.
Garren Emeraldeyes
Garren flickers out of sight and begins rummaging in his pockets for something.
Taking 10 on stealth and using two move actions, one to move into stealth and the other for black market connections. Im at work so Ill decide the scroll later...
DM.
The beast scream in agony cause the attacks have cause lot of damage to his body. In desesperation, The monster direct his eye toward
Sun 1, Erd 2: 1d2 ⇒ 2
and attack
Claw 1: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (17) + 30 = 472d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 3) + 6 = 10
Claw 1: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (10) + 30 = 402d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 5) + 6 = 12
Rend: 4d6 + 24 ⇒ (1, 4, 3, 3) + 24 = 35
Bite: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (6) + 28 = 342d8 + 8 ⇒ (8, 6) + 8 = 22
Grab: 1d20 + 38 ⇒ (7) + 38 = 45
(79 dmg) and Erd is now grapple din the creature's mouth.
Erd
Which adjacent open space does it move me to? And I guess I need to know now, what happens to resizing gear when you get shrunk in an antimagic field?
Large light wooden shield bash (grappled, shaken): 1d20 + 17 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 17 - 2 - 2 = 33 Damage (challenge): 1d4 + 6 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 13 = 21 Large light wooden shield bash (grappled, shaken): 1d20 + 12 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 12 - 2 - 2 = 18 Damage (challenge): 1d4 + 6 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 13 = 20 Large masterwork light wooden shield bash (grappled, shaken): 1d20 + 7 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 7 - 2 - 2 = 23 Damage (challenge): 1d4 + 6 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 13 = 21
Erd's Round 2: Drop longsword (free action) and full attack with shield (full-round action).
CMB (shaken): 1d20 + 21 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 21 - 2 = 31
Erd's Round 2: Drop longsword (free action) and attempt to escape (standard action).
Masterwork adamantine longword (grappled, shaken): 1d20 + 20 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 20 - 2 - 2 = 17 Damage (challenge): 1d8 + 6 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 13 = 23
Masterwork adamantine longword (grappled, shaken): 1d20 + 15 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 15 - 2 - 2 = 28 Damage (challenge): 1d8 + 6 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 13 = 21
Masterwork adamantine longword (grappled, shaken): 1d20 + 10 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 10 - 2 - 2 = 19 Damage (challenge): 1d8 + 6 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 13 = 21
Erd's Round 2: Full attack with longsword (full-round action).
Bite (shaken): 1d20 + 14 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 14 - 2 = 13 Damage: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 Hoof (shaken): 1d20 + 12 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 12 - 2 = 25 Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 Hoof (shaken): 1d20 + 12 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 12 - 2 = 21 Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Bili's Round 2: Full attack (full-round action) and five-foot step to start moving into a flank with Sun or Erd (no action).
Rynjin
It really depends on whether you bought Medium sized gear, and then made Enlarge Person permanent (in which case the gear sized up with you, and would size down as well) or if you were Enlarged, then bought Large sized gear (in which case it remains embiggened).
Erd
Resizing is a special ability that Nicos homebrewed. If it had an "original" size, then yes the armor would probably return to that size . . . but if the resizing just adapts to the wearer's current size, then it wouldn't be able to magically resize when I shrink.
Erd
Alright, my rolls are in the "If stuff resizes" spoiler.
Auron Luckstride
So... Uh... What happens now? Whose turn is it?
You know, I actually thought there was a rule on that (if you hit a creature with DR you can tell your damage was reduced) but i can't find it.
I use that rule in my live games... I'm sure I've seen it somewhere, but I can't for the life of me remember where.
Sun Xiao
Just remembered, did the creature make his rolls vs Stun and Daze last round? If he rolled a 1 he might not have attacked Erd.
Sun launches into a flurry of attacks, putting all he has into the first blow.
Stunning Dazing Knockout Blow!: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (13) + 20 = 33
Damage: 2d8 + 34 ⇒ (6, 5) + 34 = 45
Attack 2: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (16) + 20 = 36
Damage: 2d8 + 30 ⇒ (5, 5) + 30 = 40
Attack 3: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
Damage: 2d8 + 30 ⇒ (2, 8) + 30 = 40
Attack 4: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30
Damage: 2d8 + 30 ⇒ (8, 3) + 30 = 41
Attack 5: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Damage: 2d8 + 30 ⇒ (1, 3) + 30 = 34
And assuming attack 1 hits, he has to make two DC 18 Fort saves to avoid being Stunned or Dazed, and a third DC 25 Fort save to avoid being knocked Unconscious.
Sun Xiao
Just realized I didn't roll the second set of damage for the crit from the Snake Style AoO, and should add 6 more back on (the extra 6 is included in the next roll).
2d8 + 36 ⇒ (4, 3) + 36 = 43
And it's probably not dead. Something that big probably has a few hundred HP at least and probably a solid chunk of natural armor.
Auron Luckstride
What attacks hit?
Rapid Shot, Clustered Shot, etc...
Arrow: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (16) + 21 = 37 damage: 2d8 + 24 ⇒ (2, 3) + 24 = 29
Arrow: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (4) + 21 = 25 damage: 1d8 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
Arrow (Haste): 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (17) + 21 = 38 damage: 1d8 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17
Arrow: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (18) + 16 = 34 damage: 1d8 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15
Well... I'm guessing its eye doesn't look into its own mouth, so I cast Liberating Command on Erd (assuming the monster made its save against Sun's attacks and Erd is really grappled)
DM.
It actually got killed, 320something Hps (the guy should had had Dr/- in retrospective). its seemingly infinite tail get cristalyzed and shatters and the body carcass just keep there floating. (Cutting his eyes to using it (somehow) later is not a bad idea)
So, after an hour the Gith fleet succesfully repels the Illithid attack. You now have to decide how to procceed. At this point the Gith should be in alert, acting defensively and the like, but waiting coudl give Amman an advantage.
Sun Xiao
Sun rips out the thing's eye for a trophy.
"Who knows. Could come in handy."
"Hey, Auron, is it still magic? Or...not magic, I suppose."
Auron Luckstride
"Uh... See if your gear still works. The dead-magic effect would nullify any magical aura coming from it."
Also, isn't the thing's eye like... really freaking big?
Erd
Crawling out of the monster's head, Erd whistles to Bili and straps herself back in. She appraises the eye. "It is small enough for Bili's saddlebags. Test the weight."
As long as it weighs less than a ton she'll store it along with the half-elves.
Sun Xiao
Sun begins floating off in the direction of the city.
"No point in waiting around here. I'm sure we can handle whatever comes our way."
Erd
"Or whatever is IN our way." Erd and Bili turn back to mist and follow Sun to the city.
If anyone else is doing Stealth, roll for us . . . not that it's likely to help.
Garren Emeraldeyes
If there's anything Garren can do to help yall stealth, then of course!
Stealth: 1d20 + 43 ⇒ (12) + 43 = 55
Skill Mastery: 1d20 + 43 ⇒ (18) + 43 = 61
"Time is, after all, of the essence!" Garren flickers out of sight after his words.
Auron Luckstride
Unless you can cast ULTRA INVISIBILITY on us... Our team won't do very well at Stealth... Haha)
Auron Luckstride
Hmm... Can't think of any Cleric spell that can help him to be faster/safer or us to be stealthier. :(
"Well... I suppose we can try to simply land on a more remote area. From there, Garren can scout ahead more easily."
If the party agrees, I Wind Walk everyone to a less populated area of the giant fetus.
