"So says the frozen one!" Ahmande calls back to Lura. "We've got this now; we just need to deal with your sidekick here. And we'll start like this!" He pushes his way through the crowd to get to the inside of the circle. Slipping a small pat of butter out of his pouch, he quickly utters the magical words that complete the spell. As he points to the ground under the amazon's feet, a patch of grease appears, causing her to immediately lose her balance.

Move: 30' (including 2 squares difficult terrain)
Standard: cast grease (Reflex DC 15)
A grease spell covers a solid surface with a layer of slippery grease. Any creature in the area when the spell is cast must make a successful Reflex save or fall. A creature can walk within or through the area of grease at half normal speed with a DC 10 Acrobatics check. Failure means it can't move that round (and must then make a Reflex save or fall), while failure by 5 or more means it falls (see the Acrobatics skill for details). Creatures that do not move on their turn do not need to make this check and are not considered flat-footed.

The team departs Bloodcove without anything more than stares, but that could be the last dregs of paranoia. You make your way north out of the Vanji River basin and into the Terwa Uplands.
If anything, the blistering heat of the Garund plains grows more intense away from the coast. The trade routes cut through winding switchbacks, avoiding the marshiest ground and occasionally crossing a shallow river gorge.
As the caravan crests a hill on the edge of a large river gorge, sudden activity silences the ambient jungle noise. Armed guards pile out of the foliage. An ebon-skinned woman strides out alongside them, brushing back her tresses and grinning from ear to ear. “Let’s not mince words, Pathfinders. Give me the key you carry, and I shall let you continue on your way. Refuse, and my men will toss you in the river and you can swim to your destination.” The guards level their crossbows at the team, but have yet to fire.
