A sabre-tooted tiger walks into a campsite.... No, not the opening to a joke (though maybe it should be), more a request for a decision as to what you are going to do in the next few seconds as it approaches.
But...
A sabre-tooted tiger walks into a campsite. It says, "Hey, where is everybody?"

Then I'll scream "sabretooth!!!" to wake everybody up.

I think with that roll, I would have awakened, especially with Hudak's scream. Time to follow advice provided.
"Hold, barbarian. Perhaps we have an ally here."
Casting charm monster. I cannot speak to it, but perhaps I can still communicate with it emotionally. Will DC 21 to negate

The sabretooth steps into the campsite. It starts in surprise as two mules, four humans and a halfling suddenly come into view. Sefayll casts her spell and it blinks, then snarls angrily and leaps.
Illes and Camlo can wake up now, but they are prone and surprised. The rest of you, including the cat, are not surprised - those not surprised, as ever, get a single action in the surprise round. Roll initiative. Map coming.

So that means "on his action" is in the next round ;) I'm hoping he's still alive at that point....

Precisely. I'm pretty sure the last time I had a target fail a save against an enchantment, she was still officially a Hellknight.

Initiative
Sabretooth 20
Sefayll 16
Hudak 12
Alwyn 7
Camlo 6 (surprised)
Illes 4 (surprised)
I'm not going to bother with a map, we'll do this freestyle. As Alwyn was shoving a burning branch in its face, we'll assume he's the furthest forward.
The sabretooth leaps at the nearest target.
Which is, of course, Alwyn.
Claw 1 1d20 + 18 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 18 + 2 = 26 to hit, damage 2d4 + 8 ⇒ (3, 2) + 8 = 13 plus grab
Claw 2 1d20 + 18 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 18 + 2 = 40 to hit, damage 2d4 + 8 ⇒ (2, 2) + 8 = 12 plus grab
Bite 1d20 + 18 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 18 + 2 = 39 to hit, damage 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (2, 1) + 8 = 11 plus grab
Grab (if any of those hit) 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (8) + 23 = 31 v Alwyn's CMB; on a successful hit, the sabretooth has grappled Alwyn
And if it has Alwyn grappled, it gets two free rake attacks
Rake 1 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (1) + 18 = 19 to hit, damage 2d4 + 8 ⇒ (3, 4) + 8 = 15 plus grab
Rake 2 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (5) + 18 = 23 to hit, damage 2d4 + 8 ⇒ (2, 1) + 8 = 11 plus grab
Ouchie! Crit with Claw 2 and Bite (which crits on a 19-20).
Claw 2 1d20 + 18 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 18 + 2 = 27 to confirm, extra damage 2d4 + 8 ⇒ (1, 4) + 8 = 13
Bite 1d20 + 18 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 18 + 2 = 34 to confirm, extra damage 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (4, 2) + 8 = 14
"Aha!" I hear you cry, "But it's a surprise round, it only gets a single action." Nope, sorry, it has both the Pounce ability, which gives it a full attack while charging, and the Rake attacks are free actions.
Sefayll.
Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric 11
All attacks hit, both crits confirmed. I'm at -22 and is deader than a dodo.
EDIT: No, I'm not! The first rake was a natural 1 (though it did hit my AC), and is thus a miss. I'm only on -7! I'm only unconscious and dying!

male Human Shoanti Fighter 10 xp 80962
I'm up.
Don't know how far I am, but I'll just do all my attacks in case that's allowed. Power attack; two handed.
1d20 + 18 ⇒ (5) + 18 = 23 damage 1d10 + 28 ⇒ (7) + 28 = 35

Illes wakes up in time to see Alwyn driven to the ground and mauled by a massive mountain cat. "What the what now?!" He frantically begins kicking at his bedding and trying to roll to his feet.
No action. Surprised.

It's a surprise round so you only get a single attack, Hudak. However, this is the end of the surprise round so a full set of actions are now available.
Hudak slashes deeply into the sabretooth's shoulder and it roars in pain and rage. It turns its attention to the Shoanti warrior.
Sabretooth attacks Hudak.
Claw 1 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (1) + 18 = 19 to hit, damage 2d4 + 8 ⇒ (4, 3) + 8 = 15 plus grab
Claw 2 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (8) + 18 = 26 to hit, damage 2d4 + 8 ⇒ (3, 3) + 8 = 14 plus grab
Bite 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (8) + 18 = 26 to hit, damage 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (3, 4) + 8 = 15 plus grab
If any of those attacks hit, it gets to grapple Hudak as a free action. 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (8) + 23 = 31 v Hudak's CMD
If it succeeds in grappling, it gets two rakes.
Rake 1 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (1) + 18 = 19 to hit, damage 2d4 + 8 ⇒ (4, 4) + 8 = 16
Rake 2 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (11) + 18 = 29 to hit, damage 2d4 + 8 ⇒ (1, 3) + 8 = 12
A few natural 1's there - old Sabretooth is losing his touch.
Sefayll. By the way, Alwyn got the chance to cough up some blood on his turn from last round - survival check, please.
male Human Shoanti Fighter 10 xp 80962
cmd 29; I'm grappled.
Hit by 1 claw, 1 bite, and 1 rake.
Took 41 hp damage.
ouch.
Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric 11
An important point (my emphasis):
SRD wrote: Rake (Ex) A creature with this special attack gains extra natural attacks under certain conditions, typically when it grapples its foe. In addition to the options available to all grapplers, a monster with the rake ability gains two free claw attacks that it can use only against a grappled foe. The bonus and damage caused by these attacks is included in the creature's description. A monster with the rake ability must begin its turn already grappling to use its rake—it can't begin a grapple and rake in the same turn.
Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric 11
Also, I blew my stabilisation check, so I'm at -8 now.
male Human Shoanti Fighter 10 xp 80962
Cool, so I'm damaged 29 hp and not 41.
Next round might suck though.

Pounce overrides that. Specifically calls out you can rake on a charge.
But he's right that Hudak didn't get raked. Complicated, this rake/pounce combo thing.
Anyway, I believe it's now Sefayll's go.
Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric 11
Yeah, it might help Hudak; however, as it charged me, it does not apply to me.

Can Sefayll move to where she can heal Alwyn without totally exposing herself to a mauling? I guess it doesn't matter - she has to try.
Concentration check if defensive casting necessary, DC 17: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (15) + 17 = 32
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 Sorry, didn't invest much in that class...
Sefayll moves in range of the claws, but with steely resolve casts her spell to stop Alwyn bleeding to death.
Hudak. You are grappled and so cannot perform action requiring two hands and take a -2 to attack rolls.
male Human Shoanti Fighter 10 xp 80962
One handed power attack with my bastard sword.
1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26 damage 1d10 + 20 ⇒ (5) + 20 = 25
attack number 2
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24 damage 1d10 + 20 ⇒ (9) + 20 = 29
crits would be nice right now.
male Human Shoanti Fighter 10 xp 80962
Hudak hacks at the sabretooth even as it pins him to the floor. He stabs up and into its belly but he still feels its hot breath, reeking of blood and meat, on his face.
Alwyn is now stabilised but, I believe, still unconscious. Camlo.
male Human Shoanti Fighter 10 xp 80962
"Hello, Richard Parker. Sorry for the choppy ride."
Male Halfling Rogue/11 AC:26 HP: 92{92}
Is the beasty pinning Hudak or just grappling him? If it's pinning, it loses it'd dex bonus and I can sneak attack it with crossbow, otherwise, I need to stand/move to flank, then attack it, which seems like too many actions ;)
Pinning is used for dramatic effect - it has him grappled.
Male Halfling Rogue/11 AC:26 HP: 92{92}
Cool, thanks. Camlo doesn't fancy getting any closer though, so cross bow it is, just without the sneak attack....
Atk: 1d20 + 16 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 16 - 4 = 13(+16 for being within 30ft, -4 for shooting into combat)
dmg: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Well, that will miss then....
Yup. It's down to Illes to do something amazing.
HP 78/67, AC 26, T 14, FF 23, CMD 21 Performance 37/37 CHA DAMAGE: 5
Illes clumsily kick flips to his feet nearly overbalaning to land on his face in the process while infusing the motion with the power to draw the great cats eye. With an exaggerated clap and a series of whoops and yips amplified through arcane energy the bard begins a concentrated audio assault on the wild cat's mind.
MA: stand
Swift: Captivating melody (dance): 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (1) + 19 = 20 vs DC 17 for +2 charm DC
SA: Cacophonous Call Will DC 24 or nauseated 10 rounds
Unfortunately for Hudak's dignity something amazing does involve vomit in this case.
