Elisile Starbrow |
Sorry about the delay; game on Friday night followed by busy weekend.
“Fire does appear effective,” Elisile murmurs, casting a spell over the arrows in her quiver. Casts Flame Arrow on her ammunition and draws her bow.
Hudak.
Hudak |
Hudak steps to j11, and using lunge, spears the ogre in lm12-13 twice with Nualia's Tounj.
-2ac;
lunge 1 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20 damage 11d10 + 17 ⇒ (2) + 17 = 19
lunge 2 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21 damage 21d10 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18
FEEL THE HELTER SKELTER! BETTER RUN AND FIND YOUR OGRE ASS SOME SHELTER!!!
ithuriel |
Illes waves his 'banner' and shouts, "Come on then! We got skewers for the lot of you!"
SA: Cast Haste, 7 rounds
+1 attack, +1 reflex, +1 AC (dodge), +30 ft move, +1 attack with full attack
Targets: Hudak, Alwyn, Vethran, Elisile, Illes (Sorry Cam. You moved too far for me to group with the others.)
5' to J8
Vethran Tallomane |
Vethran eyes the close combat carefully, attempting to find just the right spot amongst the clustered ogres. With a few strongly vocalized words and a harsh gesture, the Varisian summons another expanding ball of flame.
Fireball at L-M/15-16. That may or may not hit Alwyn also, in which case.... sorry Vattnise. :) Everyone else should be safe and I think Alwyn will be too, but it'll be right up against his square. Alywn might have to live without eyebrows for awhile.
Fire damage: 10d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 4, 3, 5, 3, 5, 4, 1, 6, 5) + 3 = 44. Reflex DC 21 half.
Elisile Starbrow |
“You’ll finish them all on your own at this rate Vethran,” laughs Elisile, waiting for the smoke to clear to choose targets. “Shall we sit back and take our ease? Wait ... where is Camlo gone?”
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
Phew!
Ogres' saves:
1d20 ⇒ 5
1d20 ⇒ 10
1d20 ⇒ 7
1d20 ⇒ 15
1d20 ⇒ 17
Camlo's outraged yelps are mostly drowned out by the death agonies of the ogres. When the billowing fireball has dissipated, four more lie dying in the yard. One remains standing defiantly - the mink-jowled ogre glares with bloodshot eyes, most of its skin burned off but a furious malevolence in its face.
OK, that's H-I/14-15, L-M/13-14, N-O/12-13 and N-O/14-15 all down.
Alwyn.
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
Hudak, Alwyn, Camlo and Dravite:
Camlo:
Camlo Zenovia |
Am I right thinking we are waiting for Alwyn? I get lost easily ;)
Camlo:
** spoiler omitted **
Alwyn Agnarrson |
5' step to K13 before unloading on Minky. Attack 1: 12+9+1(haste)+2(Heroism)+2(flank w/Camlo-2(Power attack)=AC 24, damage 9+5+6=20. Attack 2 (bonus from Haste): 11+9+1+2+2-2=AC 23, damage 5+5+6=16.
The spiritual weapon takes off after the ogre menacing Dravite. Attack roll 13+6=AC 19 (unless Heroism and Haste helps this roll - if it does, it hits AC 22), damage 5+2=7.
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
Alwyn fells the ogre with a single chop, and it collapses with an outraged grunt. His sword of force chops at the ogre menacing Dravite, which turns and snarls.
You can have a move if you want, as that only took a standard action. EDIT: On no, you can't - moving the spirtual weapon is a move action. EDIT 2: Actually you don't get flanking from Camlo in that square either, but you hit anyway.
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
More ogres spill from the barracks. Two immediately home in on the halfling, looking for easy meat. Two other move to flank Alwyn, one slipping close to Camlo as he goes.
Four new, fresh ogres at H-I/18-19, J-K/17-18, H-I/13-14 and M-N/13-14. The ones flanking Alwyn double-move and so don't attack - Camlo gets an AoO on the one in H-I/13-14 as he goes past. The other two attack Camlo with clubs.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9, damage 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (7, 5) + 7 = 19
Attack 2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26, damage 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (4, 4) + 7 = 15
Three more ogres dash in from the north. One immediately charges Illes, its ogrehook swinging with vicious glee. The other two rush at Dravite, their clubs adding to the ogrehook of their fellow already engaging the dwarf.
The new ogres move to L-M/7-8, W-X/7-8 and Y-Z/7-8.
Attack on Illes: Ogre charges to L-M/7-8. Roll to hit 1d20 + 13 + 2 - 3 ⇒ (13) + 13 + 2 - 3 = 25, damage 3d6 + 13 + 9 ⇒ (3, 6, 5) + 13 + 9 = 36
Attacks on Dravite: Attack 1 (ogrehook) 1d20 + 13 - 3 ⇒ (12) + 13 - 3 = 22, damage 3d6 + 13 + 9 ⇒ (4, 2, 2) + 13 + 9 = 30
Attack 2 (club): 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 2 = 20, damage 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (8, 8) + 7 = 23
Attack 3 (club): 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 2 = 12, damage 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (4, 8) + 7 = 19

Does the spiritual weapon benefit from Haste?
Elisile Starbrow |
Just to clarify – there are only 7 ogres, the newcomers, that are standing so far as we can see, correct? Also, what square is Dravite in, he stepped 5 feet on his last turn, I assume to X10?
Elisile steps up beside Vethran and unleashed a barrage of fiery, electrical arrows at the ogre menacing Illes. Five foot step to I9, then full attack the ogre at LM 7-8 with rapid shot, haste, point blank shot, favoured enemy bonus etc.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31 Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 + electricity: 1d6 ⇒ 6 + fire: 1d6 ⇒ 1.
Attack 2: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26 Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 + electricity: 1d6 ⇒ 6 + fire: 1d6 ⇒ 6.
Attack 3: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 + electricity: 1d6 ⇒ 4 + fire: 1d6 ⇒ 6.
EDIT: Crit confirm: Attack 1: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15 Damage: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (3, 5) + 10 = 18.
EDIT: So assuming the first two attacks hit (but the crit does not confirm), that will be 41 points of damage.
Elisile Starbrow |
The first shot is a potential critical. Was the confirm roll so awful that you decided not to post it?
No, just didn’t notice that I rolled a 20 ... I never roll 20’s on attack rolls with x3 crit weapons it seems.
Oh well, looks like it will not confirm anyway.
Hudak |
5 foot step to K12 (lol I'd love to get out in front, but all the best moves don't allow for it so far...)
three lunges on the f!~@er in hi 13-14 (you are sooooooo f$$%ed, ogre)
power attack all the way
lunge 1 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31 damage 1d10 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
lunge 2 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21 damage 1d10 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
lunge 3 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20 damage 1d10 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
can't cleave nobody; ain't adjacent.
Alwyn Agnarrson |
Great Cleave: As a standard action, you can make a single attack at your full base attack bonus against a foe within reach. If you hit, you deal damage normally and can make an additional attack (using your full base attack bonus) against a foe that is adjacent to the previous foe and also within reach. If you hit, you can continue to make attacks against foes adjacent to the previous foe, so long as they are within your reach. You cannot attack an individual foe more than once during this attack action. When you use this feat, you take a –2 penalty to your Armor Class until your next turn.
My emphasis. Cleave/Great Cleave isn't all that great against these guys - on the other hand, if you had a longspear and were fighting a horde of orcs...

Yeah, better to take your hasted full attack.
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
Elisile fires two arrows into the charging ogre. The arrows scorch and sizzle with lightning as they hit, but the giant simply roars in fury. This is a particularly horrid specimin, its face covered in red pustules and its legs bending backwards lie a goat.
Hudak. Lord of the blade. He who feeds Nualia's Tongue. She drinks deeply as he slays one ogre and badly wounds another.
H-I/13-14 is downed so I moved the excess over to the other ogre within reach. That one, sadly, still stands.
Camlo.

Crapola, and that guy just did 36 points of damage on Illes this round too ... with one attack. Wishing I got that crit now ...

As a rule, club = easy to kill, not much to worry about, ogrehook = seriously bad mofo, a lot to worry about, is a good assumption. There are trwo ogrehookers other there - one on Dravite, one on Illes. You managed to kill one without really engaging him, being dear old mink chops, but it took two fireballs and a final stab from Alwyn.

Yeah, ogres with fighter or barbarian levels (as I assume these have) are nasty.
