Male Human Wizard 4 HP: 18/31 AC: 11 Treasure XP

Jareen winces at Arakan's reference to Magic, but generally nods agreement to the plan.

"Are you sure Th'kal? We've been through a lot no for you to wait here?"

Male Dwarf Psychic Warrior 4 :: 37/40 hp :: AC21, Fort +8, Ref +3, Will +5

"They didn't have dwarves in their party. I should take one of the illusions or invisibility."

Djal tries to stay quiet. Patience is not one of his strong points. He keeps himself busy by walking around and deciding which of the bandits had gears that looked mean and badass, while also looking a bit like his favourite bardiche, which he would hate to keep hidden.

Th'Kal's feeling the love.

"I will stay here." The enigmatic 'kreen doesn't offer an explanation for his change of heart.

Male Human Wizard 4 HP: 18/31 AC: 11 Treasure XP

Jareen shrugs at the infuriating insect, and returns to the planning.

A crestfallen Grea looks at the big 'kreen. Her shoulders slump ever so slightly. Then her gaze slifts over to Djal and her lips thin. Her head rises and she squares her shoulders. Her head keeps turning past Djal to Jaryx.

Jaryx:
We could have used him. Now we are seven.

The big fellow watches the thri'kreen and nods.

Grea:
Bug-man fights well. Would be good to have him with us. Each must travel his desert alone, shaman would say.

Jaryx looks at the leader. "How does Jaryx be prisoner?"

Male Half-Elf Mindvivisectionist 3/Archaeologist 1 (AC: 16 [T: 13 /F: 14]; HP: 28/28; F+5 (+2 vs Poison), R+8, W+4; Init: +2; Perc: +7 [Low-light vision])

Arakan tries to plead as best he can, and only as much as he's willing to admit his own weakness, to get Th'Kal to join them. In the end, it's the Kreen's protective nature that Arakan reaped the rewards of on so many occasions that keeps Th'Kal adamant about staying with the tribe.

Getting nowhere, he returns his attention to the plan. "Fine, Morthak, since no matter what I say Th'Kal will not join us, that means Old Man can use his skills for you without giving too much of himself." To answer Jaryx, he simply explains, "When we get near enough, we will pretend to bind your hands behind you, but it will just be looped, and not tied. Grea can hold the 'tether' to make it look as if one of us has control of you. Grea, if need be, you need to act abusive toward the half-giant. I leave it to you, since he is part of your tribe, and you may know how far is safe for show."

Jareen, divine magic is still magic. Either Sorcerer-King or Elementals offer divine. I'm not sure if Aubs is using the Psionic is magic overlap (I do, like it's just another form, Arcane, Divine, and Psionic). So, don't worry overmuch about me using the term. It's not like you don't display your magic quite regularly anyways. ;)

"Jareen will use his prayers to grant you the image of one of the bandits along with Morthak."

Oh yeah, Jareen tends to forget he should be hiding this stuff in the heat of the moment, but then doesn't like other people talking about it.... grumpy old sod he is!

Yes, I'm working on the same basis - magic overlap.

Having found a suitable suit, Djal puts on the helmet, imagining he is about to enter the arena, under the thundering applause of the crowd.

But as he thinks how proud his sister would be, he immediately sobers up and his mood darkens: "Are we ready yet?!"

Male Human Wizard 4 HP: 18/31 AC: 11 Treasure XP

"So we leave at first light then Arakan? I need to rest and prepare."

Male Half-Elf Mindvivisectionist 3/Archaeologist 1 (AC: 16 [T: 13 /F: 14]; HP: 28/28; F+5 (+2 vs Poison), R+8, W+4; Init: +2; Perc: +7 [Low-light vision])

Not sure about the current time of day.

Arakan corrects, responding to both Djal and Jareen, "We leave after a night's rest. We bed down now, and rise as early as we can. We want to travel and arrive on our terms. That's easier to do having time to spare rather than running late."

So, as long as whoever needs 8 hours gets 8 hours, and that puts us awake at 2 or 3 am, then that's when we leave. No sooner, no later.

It's morning, so that'll work.

Male Human Wizard 4 HP: 18/31 AC: 11 Treasure XP

"That sounds good. Can someone find me a place to sleep?"

The group find accommodations in the cave the elders use for a meeting place.

Grea speaks up after the invitation for the visitors to sleep in the cave. "It will be crowded, but if you prefer, you could sleep in our nest."

Jaryx:
I would have liked to talk to him. Thri'kreen are easier than humans. I hunt with you and Djal. And I owe Djal much, but Th'Kal could have been a new clutchmate.

The adventurers concoct their plan and take is easy, resting for the trials to come the following day. It is Grea who notices first: Danet, one of the primary warriors of the tribe and who Grea, Jaryx and Djal scuffled with the previous night, has gone missing.

As Grea mentions Danet's absence, a solid curse roars through the village: "That weasel went and warned them!!! We have to hurry. Either the desert took him; I hope he gives his blood to the sun! Or he made it, but the bandits will not have left yet. The hostages! My sisters! They'll kill them!!! We need to hurry!"

Female Human Percept +10, Sense Motive +3, Init +5 // HP 27/27 : AC 16 FF 13 T 16 : F +4 R +6 W +9 // Power Points 10/10

"You may be right. We must find out when he left, and if anyone gave him aid. We should talk to Hedla." Spear in hand, Grea goes looking for Hedla.

Aubrey, does Danet have a mount or has one from the village gone missing? Also, when was the last time anyone saw him? And is anyone else missing?

Jaryx follows Grea - which is pretty standard if he doesn't have something else to do.

Cahel attempts to extract information from the animals around as to if the person who left took an animal and if so how long ago.

Danet doesn't have a mount. To get more info about his movements will require a Diplomacy (Gather Information) check from the other villagers.

Do they have weasels in Athas?

Universal translator kicking in; it's actually a small lizard that steals other lizard eggs.....

Fire weasels, sand weasels, and sabre-tooth weasels.

Djal glares at Grea: "We don't have time for a questioning. We must leave right now. Who's our fastest rider?"

Half-giant soulknife (gifted blade, soulbolt) 4 [ HP 41/41 (0 NL) | AC 13 Tch 13 FF 11 | Fort +5* Ref +7* Will +7* | CMD 20 | Init +4 | Perc +7 | Effects: ]

Jaryx glares back at Djal, moving protectively between him and Grea, "Need tracker. Need plan. He get lost easy in desert, fast rider goes right by. Jaryx did it. Danet smarter, can do it."

"I can look for tracks. We should leave soon."

Assuming the others of the group are interested in leaving, Cahel will look for tracks.

survival: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

with that high of a result, ought to be able to do so at normal speed (at least for one mile before another check is needed, and assuming i even find the tracks in the first place)

Arakan curses himself for trusting the dune-blasted fools to not go and mess things up. "Well, chasing him may not be an issue. If he's going where we are, we have some advantage. We have our prisoner guide, and the kanks and inix to get us there with some speed. We just need to leave now. Grab whatever supplies we need for the trip. We will stop this 'Danet' from ruining my plan."

Male Human Wizard 4 HP: 18/31 AC: 11 Treasure XP

Jareen, yawns. Not looking forward to encounters without the required sleep to re-prep spells.

Cahel thinks he's got the direction Danet was travelling.

Saddle up and chase that villager. Tallyho!

I thought we got the rest, and it was noticed after our sleep/prep.

No - it's been a couple of hours, not the full eight.

You've met Aubs, right?

Grea helps tracking: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

Before leaving Grea takes a good look at the smallest of the dead bandits. She strips off his outer robe, axes, and loose gear to take with her and make her disguise more complete.

Aubrey, any loot on the bodies or kanks? Supplies, water? Were they all armed with axes?

They each had a masterwork composite longbow (+2 STR bonus) and 20 arrows, a lance, a battleaxe, hide armour, and rations (including water) for the next few days.

Male Dwarf Psychic Warrior 4 :: 37/40 hp :: AC21, Fort +8, Ref +3, Will +5

Morthak grabs one of the bandit's packs of rations and water and heads out behind Cahel.

Male Human Wizard 4 HP: 18/31 AC: 11 Treasure XP

Yeah, Jareen will do likewise, but will also pick up a longbow. Having it can't hurt and may work towards the disguise.

Half-giant soulknife (gifted blade, soulbolt) 4 [ HP 41/41 (0 NL) | AC 13 Tch 13 FF 11 | Fort +5* Ref +7* Will +7* | CMD 20 | Init +4 | Perc +7 | Effects: ]

Jaryx follows the others. He glances around and grabs a couple of ration packs and waterskins (if there are any remaining). He's a prisoner, so he takes none of the weapons.

HP 27/29; AC 16 / T11 / F15; Fort +6, Ref +3, Will +9; Perc +11 Half-giant map Druid (Saurian Shaman) 4

Cahel isnt the party leader, and wouldnt go TOO far without the others. That said, he could track ahead while some sleep then catch up.

Djal was ready to go yesterday, so he takes no time getting in the saddle and urges the others to hurry.

Male Half-Elf Mindvivisectionist 3/Archaeologist 1 (AC: 16 [T: 13 /F: 14]; HP: 28/28; F+5 (+2 vs Poison), R+8, W+4; Init: +2; Perc: +7 [Low-light vision])

Arakan grabs an entire complement of the bandit's gear. If he's going to be in the front, he needs to be believable. He wouldn't dare try to wield any of the weapons, and can't even pull the bow, but he will use them for his disguise. He decides that he will have to hack at the hide while they travel, so that his current armor only looks like it with well placed patches. There's no way in the Silt Sea that he's going to wear and try to function in the hot and heavy stuff.

EDIT: It only takes an hour to replenish his Cognatogen, so he will do it on the road. Again, for Chr.
