Morgul of the Screaming Wastes |

Sister Juliatan's insight into the spirits, the Skarix as Sethryn called them, and her reaction did little to settle Morgul's mind. Ever eager for answers she would have sat and pressed the priestess for more answers, greater detail if she did not feel that as things stood, it was neither the time or place for them. Perhaps she was wrong, Juliatan being more forthecoming and patient than the image she presented, but Morgul felt that the senior sister was not one such. Perhaps once her favor was curried she might soften and the witch would then find the time to sit and speak with her at length.
"Thank you for the insight, Sister Juliatan, though in truth it leaves me desiring to know more- of the spirits, the veil, and the events, both spiritual and physical, since the Rising of the Dark Tower. Perhaps another time I may be honored to have the opportunity to know more of them."
She was about to ask questions regarding both the quest and why the priestess assumed all needed questions of the past answered when the stranger, Kimefe stepped forward and spoke up. Shooting the woman a look she said,
"What is your interest in this?"

"That you shall have, my dear. Your mind is troubled, I see. I am surprised you have not experienced the danger of magic before, for you seem to be one empowered in the old arts."

Kimefe |

That spoiler should be for Morgul, not Kimefe
Rolling her eyes at the exotic woman who didn't seem to know when to stop asking questions, Kimefe responded with clear sarcasm:
"As I have already told you, I want to help."
Pausing slightly, she seemed to think about the subject for a moment before speaking again.
"But if you really must know, it is because I am bored. I want something more exciting than what I've been doing my whole life, and a group as strange as this seems the most likely way to get that."

Morgul of the Screaming Wastes |

Thanks, Eragar:)
Morgul's look turned into a glare as Kimefe rolled her eyes and shot back her answer as if such justified her presence. The witch had been prepared to fire off a scathing retort when Kimefe continued with a more thoughtful answer, Morgul's gaze softening just a bit.
"Perhaps the first honest answer from you yet," she replied, stern but for the first time even and fair.
"I do not make it a habit to involve others in my affairs, and this is very personal. Much less one who introduced themselves in such a manner as you. But boredom I find more believable than altruism from one who knows little of the affairs they seek to join.
I do not yet have reason to trust you and boredom is often the partner to mischief, the latter of which I am not a fan of for it often brings trouble with it, but perhaps I may give you a chance. If you would join, what is it that you think you can offer to me, for I would not say us as I cannot speak for Sorad and his own goals?"

Kimefe |

Sure thing. :)
Realizing that it must have been difficult for Morgul to give her a chance, Kimefe gave her a slight nod of respect and appreciation before answering.
"The things of use that I could offer you would depend on what you want; but if you plan to involve yourself in many more of these ventures then I can give another set of eyes, a quick blade, and a smooth tongue--All of which could become invaluable at various points.
What do you think Sorad? You seem like an intelligent fellow, surely you realize the added asset of another set of hands."

Sorad Dvorak |

Up to this point Sorad had been content to merely listen to the conversation and take in the information it provided, but as the stranger turned to him he decided that it would be best to say his part.
"Morgul, it is true that this woman has lied to us multiple times already, but she also seems to me to be a good person--even if that good is hidden deeply.
I say we trust her for now. It is true that we could use the extra help searching an area that we know nothing about; and we can always part ways with her if things do not go as well as hoped."
"Priestess, could you give us more exact directions to this lighthouse? As well as an estimated travel time?"

![]() |

"It will be about two days travel by walking. Through dangerous territories. Then again, practically anything outside the Citadel is dangerous. I will have a map."
"But for now, I think it is best if you enjoy the time you have in the Citadel. We must prepare for tonight." She turns to Gerinelle. "Prepare the ritual chamber for a Window. We will see what knowledge can be imparted tonight."
Gerinelle bows her head and turns away in a swirl of green and ivory.

Sorad Dvorak |

Looking up and noticing the highness of the sun, Sorad suddenly seemed anxious. Turning to the others he made a brief bow,
"I am afraid that I must leave you now for a time. I will return within the hour; please do not interrupt me."
He then quickly made his was towards his room.

Morgul of the Screaming Wastes |

Morgul listened patiently as Kimefe spoke, nodding as Sorad shared his thoughts.
"As you are willing to put a measure faith in her I will support you and do so as well," she said to the solar adept. "If she is skilled with a blade she just might come in handy."
She then turned toward Kimefe.
"Very well. Welcome and let us hope that our faith is not misplaced."
Pausing to listen to Juliatan's estimation of the travel time she was unaware of Gerinelle's return until the priestess moved away at he senior's behest. Although interested in discovering the answers to her questions Morgul did her best to bite her tongue as Sister Juliatan offered the quest, not one to accept such things so readily but not wishing to alienate the woman either. Tempering herself she asked,
"The horn, what is it's significance? And what can you tell us of the tower and surrounding area?"
