Seka of the Silver Wings
"Camp overnight it is", Seka says before looking about the clearing near the small lake for the most secure place to set up camp and the prudence of building a small fire.
Survival to set up camp and set a safe perimeter: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
Survival to predict weather over next 24 hours: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Once Seka is done preparing the campsite, she will have a little food and water and then sit down on a clear patch of ground, legs crossed, and will begin her nightly meditations to prepare her spells for the coming day. (1 hour in a trance-like meditation to regain her daily allotment of spells.)
"I will take the last watch," she advised before taking one last look about the camp to ensure there was nothing lurking about in the shadows and darkness (using her darkvision).
Perception for threats and dangers: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Seka pulls out her blanket and will sleep in her leather armour (light armour). She keeps her pack and weapons close/within arm's reach.

AS you guys will learn in the future monday's will be a little slow for me on posting. it's the one day of the week i meet my home group for dnd and i'm gming with them too.
you think the weather might be hot and humid
You notice the water near the lake moving...
Seka of the Silver Wings
Thanks for the heads-up re your Mondays.
GM: How far away is the water's edge?
She gains the attention of Jokulmorder, who was on first watch, points to the lake and puts her finger against her lips, hoping the fighter knew it meant he should keep quiet. In a whisper, she relayed, "The water, there, is moving." Is the water moving in an unnatural way?
Seka continues to keep her eye on the moving water to see what is the cause of it. Once I find out how close we are to lake/water's edge, I can then move Seka to get a better look. Thanks.
She quickly wanders over to the sleeping forms of Targan and Ikkit, and gently nudging them awake with her booted foot, she advises, "There may be a threat," and once again points out the moving water near the lake's edge. Better to be safe than sorry, she mused inwardly.
Jokulmorder Zheng
Jokulmorder gives the druid a thumbs up, and draws his mace. He puts himself closest to the water, ready to attack whatever emerges from the water. He scans the surface, trying to figure out what Seka saw.
perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Seka of the Silver Wings
She quietly replies to Ikkit, "Not certain, but the water is rippling. Best to be ready in case it is more than fish or other modest lake creature in this fell place."
Drawing her sickle, Seka moves down, just a few feet behind (and to the side of) Jokulmorder and gazes into the dark water to see what is causing the movement.
Perception to determine what is there: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
GM_IamZero000
roll initiative guys
check: 1d20 ⇒ 19
attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
glancing down into the water you see a massive alligator, it clambers out of the water snapping at Jokulmorder, each of its bites missing. it seems highly aggressive and hungry.
Seka of the Silver Wings
She saw the alligator among the ripples and dark water but it moved swiftly and attempted to bite the fighter before her but it missed.
"Alligator!" she gave warning to the others.
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Targan Blacklock
Targan. init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
As the beast comes out of the water he will take a shot at it. attack: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 2 + 1 = 12 (+ 1 for Point blank)
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
If it's in melee he takes - 4 to avoid hitting his own people.
Jokulmorder Zheng
"AH geez, watch Targan!"
Zheng yelps out in surprise as the bolt misses him, turning to the druid, he asks
"uhhhh seka, you're a druid right? I don't feel so good about beating up this beast if I don't have to. You have some magic thing to fix this right?"
Seka of the Silver Wings
"uhhhh seka, you're a druid right? I don't feel so good about beating up this beast if I don't have to. You have some magic thing to fix this right?"
Round 1
She heard Jokulmorder's request and looked to the desperate, fierce creature. From her place, Seka attempts to gain eye contact with the alligator and study it calmly, hoping her passive body language will calm the aggressive beast so it will not continue to attack. "We do not wish to harm you," her voice was low and gentle even though the alligator would not understand the Common tongue. She hoped it would hear the soft intonation/inflection and be settled or swim away to find quarry elsewhere.
Wild Empathy to influence attitude of Alligator: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 (As long as they're within 30 ft of each other and studying each other for a minute. Sucky roll, however. ;p)
GM_IamZero000
Yea that roll really botched, it is now incredibly hostile
Seka's whispering seems only to have made the beast angrier , it suddenly starts sprinting toward you Seka. it bites you with it's massive jaws, you barely manage to pull away from it's vice like grip.
Seka 5 Damage
bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
bite: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
grapple: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Jokulmorder Zheng
"OKAY WE GAVE PEACE A CHANCE"
Zheng exclaims, his voice cracking. He raises the mace and brings it down, trying to down the beast.
power attack (heavy mace): 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (6) + 4 - 1 = 9
dmg: 1d8 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 2 = 10
Ikkit Claw
Round 2
Ikkit fires again and the bolt sails wide, Too many people in th way. Insead of reloading he drops his crossbow and draws his scimitar.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 -4 firing into Melee = 9
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Targan Blacklock
knowing it's too dangerous to fire again Targan follows Ikkit, dropping his crossbow and drawing his battleaxe.
He moves to where he is flanking the alligator with Zheng.
Targan. Acrobatics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 If needed.
If he gets an attack? attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Seka of the Silver Wings
Sorry, site was down for maintenance last night and couldn't post before bed.
Round 2
Her left arm ached and bled from the alligator's deep bite. Her attempt to calm the creature had only made it more aggressive, unfortunately for them all.
Lifting her sickle, the Druidess tries to slice into the alligator's hide.
Sickle attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Damage, if hits: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
and then takes a 5ft step back away from its snapping jaws.
HP 6/11, AC 15, T13, FF12.
Seka of the Silver Wings
Targan moved to flank with you last round. So you can add +2 flanking bonus to your attack, Jokulmorder.
Ikkit Claw
Round 2
Ikkit moves up trying to strike the creature. He steps forward and slashes and howls in frustration as his scimitar bounces off the creatures scaly hide.
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
will try to get into flanking
Seka of the Silver Wings
Round 3
Seka takes a 5ft step forward and raising her sickle attempts to slice through the alligator's hide.
Sickle Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Damage, if hits: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Confirm crit: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Extra damage if crit confirms: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
HP 6/11, AC 15, T13, FF12.
Jokulmorder Zheng
"Alrighty then, I suppose it's back to the watch for me" zheng states flatly
"I wouldn't mind using this beast for all its worth though, be a shame to waste it."
Zheng continues the rest of his watch as planned, taking the time to salvage what he can off the gator
trying to get whatever I can off the dead beast. Any relevant rolls to make?
Seka of the Silver Wings
Watching as the alligator finally fell and was bleeding out on the shore/grass, and hearing Jokulmorder say he would he use what was left of the beast, Seka left him to it and moved back to the camp, wiping her sickle of any blood etc. She then set about examining the nasty wound on her left forearm to determine if the wound was clean before beginning to cast some magical healing on herself.
Heal check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
CLW on Seka: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
The wound healed evenly and wholly and the pain was gone.
Back to full HP.
Before finding herself some sleep, the Druidess took one last, quick look about the surrounds (checking the perimeter) for other creatures which may have been drawn to the sounds of the encounter, and, if satisfied there is no other immediate threat in the vicinity will go to sleep (light armor on) until her turn for watch duty (last watch).
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Jokulmorder Zheng
Zheng whistles as he takes the beast back to camp, better to take it apart there than in the middle of nowhere
"most interesting. A reptile thing."
survival: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
"I have no idea what any of this is."
As Seka sweeps the perimeter, zheng looks up from his work and addresses her.
"How's that wound looking?"
Targan Blacklock
Targan looks over the carcass thoughtfully. "These are supposed to be good eating?" He says to Zheng.
"I know the hide is valuable to armorers. Nice and thick, as we found out." He makes sure his axe is sharpened and cleaned after the fight.
Jokulmorder Zheng
Zheng shrugs in response to Targan's question
"Truthfully? No idea. I've never seen one of these things before, much less gotten an in depth look at it."
He frowns at the bloodied mess of a carcass and at his hands.
"Probably ruined whatever value i could have gotten from it."
Turning to Ikkit he chuckles and fires back
"alrighty rat, see you tomorrow."
Seka of the Silver Wings
As Seka sweeps the perimeter, zheng looks up from his work and addresses her. "How's that wound looking?"
"It is healed," lifting her left arm so Jokulmorder could see for himself. "I could not discover any other, obvious threats as I moved about the perimeter." She looked at his poor work of the alligator and attempted to give the fighter some swift guidance (or tutelage for next time) before she retired.
Survival to guide Zheng in the work: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
"I will sleep now. Ikkit will wake me for my shift. Good night."
GM_IamZero000
Yeah, the hide and meat from the gator is damaged and inedible. the guts and such having now been spilt all over it.
The rest of the night goes rather quietly, the lake area itself actually seems rather nice and quiet.
Everyone give me a perception check. these perception checks take place during your separate watches
Seka of the Silver Wings
GM: Do you want us to wait for each perception result first before we post our shift's perception? Seka is on last watch and that's why I ask ...
Seka of the Silver Wings
Okay, thanks for responding so promptly.
Getting up for her watch, Seka scans her eyes around the camp/land/trees/water. With sickle in hand, she begins to mindfully and cautiously walk the perimeter, checking each section to ensure they are not caught unawares or miss something of note.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Ikkit Claw
Ikkit reluctantly gets up for his watch and takes a few minutes to rub the sleep from his eyes. Finally awake he marches back and forth around the camp trying to fight off sleep.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
GM_IamZero000

Targan do me a solid and add all your crunch and fluff to your profile so i can access it easier?
On your watch you find an odd purple glass like shard among some stones on the shore. the outer part of the shard is smooth and rounded.
It feels odd in your hand, almost dangerous. It feels as if it's throbbing in your grip
While walking the perimeter you find a crumbled up piece of paper written in some language you don't quite recognize.
You recognize a Symbol on the corner of the paper as that of Urgoatha
While washing the blood from your hands you see something silvery glowing in the water. It's almost like a metal shard of white light...You know it's not mithral, it's brighter...
though only slightly you feel as though it's throbbing.
You find an old journal written in common, though mostly rotten some of the writing still comes through
The boss says the experiment is almost complete. Once he takes over the region, he'll assault the castle to the north. I asked why he can't just take it now, he said the entire thing has some magic force field around it, it's built on one of those arcane fields...
Seka of the Silver Wings
Can Seka use linguistics to try to decipher the language on the crumpled paper, GM?
If so,
she will first cast Guidance on herself and then make the attempt.
Linguistics to decipher writing in an unfamiliar language: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 1 = 21
The base DC is 20 for the simplest messages, 25 for standard texts, and 30 or higher for intricate, exotic, or very old writing. If the check succeeds, you understand the general content of a piece of writing about one page long (or the equivalent). If the check fails, make a DC 5 Wisdom check to see if you avoid drawing a false conclusion about the text. (Success means that you do not draw a false conclusion; failure means that you do.)
If check fails, WIS check (DC 5): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
