Corvus Fracta'ala |

Hello Robbie. Up for a game of darts?
Corvus walks up to the dart boart to retrieve the darts and heads back to the throwing line.
Word is you heard about something going down at the Museum. How about you tell me more over a game?
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Corvus tosses his first dart.

Robbie is a small, nimble guy. Fairly unremarkable looking. He does have a nice gold necklace on. His first dart falls just short of Corvus'.
He peeks back toward the door but whispers to you when no one is looking.
"I know a guy, in good with the Guild, if you know what I mean. Don't know his name but they call him Badger. Sometimes he pays me to find things. I'm good with knowing where to get unsual items. He gave me some coins, told me to get the word out someone's planning a museum hit. You ask me, someone ain't playin' nice with the Barbers."

Corvus Fracta'ala |

Strange. I thought the bloody barbers took care of interlopers on their own. Ratting out a heist seems . . . petty. Have you heard of any new groups looking to build a gang in the district?
Knowing folks are watching Corvus keeps playing the game while keeping his voice low.

Hazel Stokes |
Seeing that Corvus has formed a rapport with Robbie, Hazel listens intently to the conversation but says nothing for the time being. Instead, she opts to have a drink and hang out as though she's merely passing the time watching the dart game and taking in the scenes inside the bar. While she does this, she keeps a close eye on the well-muscled men that were at the door as well as on anyone else that appears to be interested in their presence at the bar.

Thanks those fellows were making me nervous. I figure they will intervene right before Robbie says too much or perhaps just after if we are lucky. :)

This time Corvus' dart is wide while Robbie's strikes the center. One more throw for the win.
Robbie third throw: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Robbie does not seem to know any more information. You feel like it is time to move along.
Kn local Ev: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Kn local Oz: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Oz and Everest find a local florist who does not have the flower, but thinks some Jalmeray street vendors in the upper part of the foreign quarter (where you are) who might have some.

Corvus Fracta'ala |

Sounds like it is time to find this Badger.
Thanks for the chat Robbie. How about a bet on the last throw? Say 1 gold?
Not waiting for a response Corvus thaws a dart aiming wide.
Accat Dart Board: 1d20 - 6 ⇒ (15) - 6 = 9 I subtracted to represent aiming wide
Not waiting for Robbie's throw Corvus leaves a gold on the table. Looks like this game is yours.
Nodding to Hazel he heads for the door.

Once outside he asks Hazel Ever hear of anyone going by the name of Badger? Right now that is our strongest lead unless the others are having better luck.

Commander Griff |

Robbie grins at the win. "Hmmm, you're not too bad for a copper."
You have heard of a high-ranking Barber named Badger but initial efforts to find him prove fruitless. Frizell swoops down with orders to return to the station.
....
Griff listens as you fill him in, then gives orders. "It's probably just a rumor, but I want you to stake out the museum tonight. Osku will be in charge. You've got a little time to do some reconaissance. Try not to break anything. I am taking my wife out to the theater for our anniversary."

Hazel Stokes |
"I think we can manage that," Hazel says brightly. First day on the job and they already had stakeouts to do - even if nothing came of it, she finally felt that she was doing something that mattered.
Still, she had a nagging feeling that there might be more going on than what they'd managed to discover so far. Did the Bloody Barbers set this up to rat out some competition or was there something else?
Hazel sighed grimly. Even if there was something deeper going on, they had no other leads or information to follow up on just yet. They'd simply have to see what, if anything, happened at the museum tonight.
Wonder what things the museum has that might be worth stealing?

Your badges get you in to talk to museum security. They are helpful but not especially worried about tonight.
The museum has all manner of art and historical objects in its collection. There are a couple of temporary exhibits that might be of special interest.
A collection of clockwork and mechanical creatures of various sizes.
An ancient tapestry of Sarenrae from Kelesh.
A silver statuette of Cobblehoof, the hippogriff servant of Abadar (LN god of cities, wealth, trade, and law).
A mummy from Osirion.
A collection of jade carvings of animals from Tian Xia.

Corvus Fracta'ala |

Hmmm there is the group from the mechanical cult that set up shop in Absalom. They wouldn't bother getting involved with the Bloody barbers and the barbers might not want to cross them too directly which might explain their decision to rat out the job instead of dealing with the interlopers directly.

Corvus Fracta'ala |

oh shoot now I have to go look them up in the city guide :)

Corvus Fracta'ala |

With so little guidance the students of the Clockwork Cathedral are often over zealous. I haven't heard of them getting involved in crime but who knows what a a cognate of students could get in their heads.

Everest seems pensive. "A mechanical cult? That's... interesting."
He gestures to the statue of the hippogriff and jovially adds "But not as interesting as this fine specimen. My. What craftsmanship..."
Using his gleeful exterior as a front for his cold and calculating interior, Everest tries to get a read on entry points and cover areas in the museum in case a battle erupts.

There is a main entrance and a couple of back doors for deliveries. The windows are all on the upper level, it would be a difficult climb to reach them. The most noted exhibits are all in the spacious central hall, either in the lower level or on a balcony that circles the room. There is a storage room on each level where a couple of people could hide. If you were not squeamish you could hide in a mummy sarcophagus.

Corvus Fracta'ala |

There doesn't seem to be anything obvious here. With security notified perhaps the best bet is to set up a stakeout.

Corvus Fracta'ala |

Corvus takes a position on the balcony. I'd there is a ledge even higher he will climb (Climb=17 if he takes 10) to that if he can to have as much height as possible while seeing as much of the great hall as possible. He then settles down to wait.
