Welcome welcome! I'm trying to see how to assemble the troops - this seems to have had some little effect so far. I'm hoping warhorn will allow the GMs some visibility to everyone's contact info. I haven't wanted to get too far out in front without an ability to wrangle stragglers.

Over the next day or two I'll assess how others are doing with the recruitment threads they're putting up. So far I've had 3 of 12 players (two tables) make their way to the discussion threads I put up, and one of them I already share three games with, so he knows where to find my stuff...
If I don't see anything on Warhorn by Sunday, or anything really clever in other folks' recruitment threads, I'll start to walk it through the hard way.

GM, I'm going to swap out my "Devram Coates" for this Inquisitor, if that's ok. Hopefully he will fill out the party better, and I'm itching to play him.

@Torean - not a problem. looks good. I can't promise 'sky sentinel' will come into play much though. ;)

Checking in with the Wizard 1.
I still need to add the spells in my spellbook on my profile, will do that at the latest on Monday.
Memorised spells are in the profile

Welcome all!
Expect to see a (redundant) e-mail from me later today. I think we've got at least one straggler, but I can't tell who's who in e-mails. And that way y'all can see how to reach me at need.

Seated at this table should be:
- Theodore "Little Foot" Rosevale - ?? - Ranger 1
- Rowanna Nachtalus - 60133-4 - Witch 1
- Torean Spellbane - 1142-4 - Inquisitor (Spellbreaker) 1
- Cesare Andistore - ?? - Bard 1
- Faeranduil - 24861-4 - Wizard (admixture) 1
Tim Chan Inquisitor 1
Please chime in to let me know you're here.
Basic guidelines, cribbed shamelessly from Tarondor.

Here is how things are going to work. I'm not going to use any of the map options I've seen here, mostly because I'm old and cranky and don't want to learn anything new. Instead, you are going to describe your move in detail and I'm going to update the maps by hand and post them on my site with a link in the Gameplay forum.
EXAMPLE: Fred the Fighter charges to the attack! (Move N-N-E-N; attack!)
(Where N=North, E=East, S=South and W=West). North will always be at the top of the map, regardless of any compasses printed on the map.
Dice will be rolled here as normal
______________________________________________________
Please update your race line to reflect (appropriately modified, obviously):
(HP23/27 AC 18 | T 14 | FF 14 | CMD 19 | F +3 | R +9 | W +4 | Init +3 | Per +7)
If the summary in your character line isn't helpful, I'll poke you.
______________________________________________________
Players are expected to post at least once per day, seven days a week.
______________________________________________________
The GM is often wrong, but will do his best to be right. If I screw up in your favor, we'll let it go. If I screw up in a way that hurts you, speak up before your next turn and I'll try to get it straightened out.
______________________________________________________
I've had 30 years of GMing experience, but I still don't know every obscure ability you may have. If you're using an ability that is not common, please explain it and link it to the SRD or PRD so I can quickly determine what you're trying to do.

Rule #1 - Have fun!

@Falksat - all good. I'd mis-aligned yours for one of the other characters. Straight now. Thanks for good info.

Little Foot, checking in.
Added in the pfs# et al, under 'Society Stuff' at the end of my character info.
Just a vanilla ranger here, so nothing untowards to sneak up on you...
Though would like to remind you of the dwarven Stonecunning ability, which would allow Little Foot a free perception check to notice traps and secret doors and the like within 10' if they are made of or concealed in stonework, whether I'm actively looking or not.

@Falksat - Belt of Tumbling looks very neat - but do you have it on a chronicle somewhere? at 800 it's a thread over baseline purchasability, I believe. Filter hood is available.
Falksat Infer Noghaltz
|
No I don't. I just wanted to buy it since we were departuring from a large settlement, but it seems you are right and I cannot buy it until I have a 9 score in fame... If it were 750 gp I could get it through PPs... damn. Maybe in another life, when we're both cats, then.

ALLCON - just FYI, I re-read the season 5 guidelines pertaining to faction goals from earlier seasons... and I did the remapping a little wonky. I'm going to call done-and-done, because frankly I think the official mappings would be a bit arbitrary and off. So... just be aware that the faction missions might not be what you'd strictly expect. But I still like 'em for flavor!

If I'm not mistaken, you're supposed to use the new Secondary Success Conditions with old modules now, starting October 1st. It's a downloadable PDF.

@Falksat - I've actually found the PbP media makes having a low perception stat much more interesting and challenging. There are lots of opportunities to "Peak" for player knowledge, but it glaringly exposes mis-steps between player and character knowledge. Also some cool opportunities for role-play, when you know about stuff that your character has missed... :)
@Little Foot - the camp will have personally slighted you later. Remind me at the end...

I know, but it's contradictory, having a ARCHER that is supposed to see very far away to have such a low perception.
But at the same time it explains not having the skill. Afteral I'm so focused at distant threats that I care not about my whereabouts.... But I hate it ^_^

If you're Grand Lodge, you can retrain before level 2 to take the Observant Grand Lodge trait which makes Perception a class skill.

I'll be away from home from tomorrow through the end of next week. Posting will be sporadic but I promise to get a few in. Please run me as appropriate.

not so much. nasty little things - expect everyone else to learn undercommon.
though you could be lucky and this could be an exceptionally broad-minded and cosmopolitan nasty little mite. no really - could happen... :) hey - now I wonder whether or not you could play one of these as a PC under ARG race design... hrmmm..
Faeranduil
|
@GM: apparently the team is not waiting for Faeranduil (not that I am surprised, considering his behaviour). How do you want to treat that?
Should I post what he is doing or do you want me to stay quit until you tell me he has managed to reach the group again?

It was either that or a bucket full of ectoplasmic slime... a la Nickelodean. I was trying to figure out how it could braid Thoren's beard, or tie someone's shoelaces together. Lucky for the horse it was out of range...
Sometimes it occurs to me I've read too many legends and fables.

I'm kinda feeling like we managed to skip the middle of the adventure and went straight to the final fight, then slinked away to go do the middle anyway. Maybe we should go back up there and have it out with the drunks?
utopianGM_A
|
Can't say you're entirely wrong about the skipping over bit. Wading straight in is certainly a possibility. But you might want to keep in mind that you know there's a hybrid fey out there that might just thrive on the kind of chaos watching the adventurers wade through a sea of inebriated revelers would create.
