I always loved the story of the post-11 Apollo missions... people stopped tuning in. I mean, what the HELL?! These guys are on the MOON.

No. "Liftoff" is more appropriate if a vehicle with a crew of three was used. Mr. Cernan traveled alone.

Because for Americans the whole point of the space program was to beat the Russkies to the Moon. Once Apollo 11 had achieved that, and it was clear that the Soviets weren't going to follow up, they saw no reason to continue. Interest started taking a nose dive as early as Apollo 12. Find out how many people know the crew names to THAT or any other mission as opposed to 11 or 13.
