Thinking happy thoughts...

How would we go about petitioning The Powers That Be to add the goblin plush to the list of things that grant rerolls?

That pretty much starts the process, but if you want to be extra sure you can look into a mirror and say "John Compton" 5 times.

This would probably be something for the new campaign coordinator to decide.

I take it you mean both of them (the Licktoad and the other one)?

In any case, I'm in favor.

I'd be way more inclined to have a plushie than a t-shirt. I'm in favor of it. Though, to me, it's a moot point because I carry around my portfolio.

wait, you mean you have to have two (one of each type) of them there to gain the re-roll? Heck, I can't see my wife showing up with only one of them, but are we limiting her to two?

It looks like he means it should include both--so that way if you have either you're eligible.

Allow me to cast a vote for fewer, not more, out-of-game purchases which grant in-game effects like re-rolls.

The Season 7 Guide already offers 32 "buy-an-item" and 3 "volunteer-only" items which grant a free reroll in-game. Almost all of the items listed are ones that actively promote Paizo products and turn you into a walking billboard (essentially, shirts and the newer messenger bags). The character folio is the sole exception - it doesn't do much marketing, but the fact that it grants a reroll certainly helps sell character folios, if my local Lodge is any indication. No one uses them as a character sheet, but everyone has one for the reroll.

So, it seems that the items which grant rerolls are the items which turn the person into Paizo marketing material. While one might disagree with the idea of an in-game benefit coming from an out-of-game action, at least it is a consistent benefit for a consistent role. I'm not sure a plushie fits into this scheme, any more than the other non-game-essential Paizo products like audio CDs or face cards do.

Now, a reroll for having the right mini for my pre-gen? NOW you're talking! No more Star Wars minis and checkers on the battle mat! ;)

I think that might be a rule for the cardgame though!

I'm still holding out for a "Shower re-roll" -

I've been tempted to tell players at my table on the 3rd and 4th day of a Con that I'll let them take a re-roll if they have had a shower (and put on clean clothing!) in the last 12 hours.

I'm sure someone will object that it's against the rules... but hay! it's a good idea. Oh! and maybe brushed their teeth or had a breath mint too.

messenger bags, what are they? Are they new for getting rerolls?

Having a plushie will help with that. No need to wear the same shirt for four days because it grants you a reroll. For a goblin it remarkably clean ;)

I genuinely hadn't considered the idea of someone wearing the same shirt to all days of a convention because it was their only reroll shirt. I should probably consider myself lucky for that fact.

Ha, what about the gamer in the same shirt on day three, and it's NOT a re-roll shirt. They have a portfolio for that...

Just another the that makes you say Ewwww!

Kinda glad I have four of the same shirt for conventions...... Wearing the same shirt day after day, in that environment, isn't healthy.

I bought 3 different Pathfinder shirts for GenCon. I too just can't stand wearing the same shirt more than one day in a row. And, even at the Con, just wearing it for 16 hours or more was enough.

But as far as the topic goes, I'd actually like to see more actual pathfinder gaming equipment granting re-rolls, like GM Lamplighter suggests. Perhaps having an official set of pathfinder dice, actually bringing all of your physical books for that character. Heck, let the GMs perhaps give out a few: "Your mini is awesome! Free Reroll!" "That was a really creative line/action, free reroll later in the game!" Of course, I can see that getting abused, so I dunno.

I always bring my buff and condition decks, for example, and pass out the cards as needed. That should be worth a reroll.

But, yeah, the plushies should be good for a re-roll. I've wondered about the Paziocon pint glasses as well. Granted, I want to go and get one in person, not just buy it off the site...

Due to several local PFS locations near a teriyaki shop, I have been jokingly promoting the "egg reroll." Show a receipt from the PFS gameday with an order of egg rolls for a free reroll.

No rerolls in the cardgame. Having an official play mat gets you a one/game discard to draw, and buying the iconic minis get you promo cards that are legal for use though.

I use the folio for PFS rerolls. I'd actually use it for a character but my superstitious nature tells me that as soon as I write a PC actually in the folio it will die the very next session.

One of our local players has dissassembled his folio and laminated it, so that he can write his favorite character in it in dry erase, and if it dies or retires, he can wipe it away and put a different one in.

I've considered doing that myself, but I've got too many characters and there's no guarantee what character I'm going to play when I show up.

Actually those T-Shirts listed in the Guide to Pathfinder Society Roleplaying Guild, do allow the reroll of a single die in the Adventure Card Guild as per page 9 in the Guide to Pathfinder Society Adventure Card Guild.

Could someone who has one of the messenger bags PM me? I'd like to get a feel for how much actual carrying capacity they have, and in what configuration, and the pictures at the webstore don't quite do enough.

I've been using a Bag of Holding for several years, but I accidentally put a portable hole in it, and it just hasn't been the same. :-(

Ok, ask and ye shall receive.

Outside
Inside

Contents:
- Core Rule Book
- Advanced Player's Guide
- Ultimate Equipment
- Mythic Adventures
- 5 sets of dice in bag
- Condition Cards
- 20 wooden pencils
- 2 Permanent markers
- highlighter
- 2 mechanical pencils
- 2 ink pens - dry erase marker
- 2 flip maps
- 4 PFS character folders with chronicles
- 2 PFS scenarios
- ~30 index cards
- (And still two unused pockets about sized for camera or phone or deck of cards.)

I picked it up at GenCon, and have been using it for my weekly gaming needs since. Replaced my entire backpack, except when I need to bring large minis.

I wrote that two years ago. The bag took a lot of punishment and after about 9 months got a hole in one bottom corner. But like I said it took a lot of punishment and if I hadn't stuffed it so much for so long it would have probably lasted a lot longer.

Thanks, Eric! I need to replace that Bag of Holding, and this might do. Is that bag still in service after two years? Or was the hole sufficient to retire on?

Shadow Lodge 4/5 *** Venture-Captain, Michigan—Mt. Pleasant

I could easily patch it. I use it for other things now since my wife gave me her old scrapbooking tote which easily carries twice as much stuff.
