Mythic Adventure Modules

Product Discussion

Other than the Wrath of the Righteous Adventure Path, does PAIZO have any future plans to release any other MYTHIC adventures/modules?

Sovereign Court

They're likely still gathering data on Wrath of the Righteous and Mythic Adventures, since if they're not doing too swift, making more Mythic things would be a waste of finances.

We know that the next two (possibly three, but nobody knows what that AP will be except Paizo's staff... although if they'd like to tell me, they have my email address... just saying!) won't be Mythic, and from comments James Jacobs has made, there might occasionally be Mythic characters/opponents in future APs, but I don't think that there are explicitly-revealed plans for further Mythic APs or modules.

I wouldn't mind a high-level Mythic module, though. At the moment, I think there's one 15th, one 16th, and one 17th (Blood of Dragonscar, Moonscar and Witchwar Legacy). There is something of a dearth of high-level modules, something that's come up in a few topics around the forums.

For high-level adventures check out Adventure Quarterly (#2 has an 18th level adventure, and they do each have a low, medium and high level adventure, and of course check out their current kickstarter for more info and a great deal on issues 5-8), and of course Coliseum Morpheon, both by Rite Publishing.

Also check out the Level 16+ thread for some more excellent suggestions...

Though mythic doesnt have to equal high level, check out Kobold Press To the Edge of the World for a low level epic adventure.

Really, the answer is sort of no. By the time WotR is complete for Paizo to get feedback, add a year for development and release, any further Mythic modules or adventure path material would be another year. End result is nearly two years after Mythic Adventures' release before you'd see anything supporting it.

They have said further Mythic content predicates on success of WotR, and while Paizo frequently has things hidden up their sleeves, timing is probably poor to see anything anytime soon.

Note: if they've already got some projects part-way through development that are on hold, that could skew this.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'm guessing the majority of future support for mythic content will come from 3rd party publishers.

Has any 3rd party publisher announced any future Mythic adventure modules or did we just buy this Hardback to play one Adventure Path? (Might we need to purchase another hardback just to play future AP's?) I really hope to see somebody put out other products to take advantage of Mythic Adventures...

Patience...

So far there's 3PP support for mythic spells (Kobold Press' Deep Magic, Legendary Games mythic spells) & mythic monsters (LG again with mythic monsters, and JBEs Legendary Monsters ).

I'm betting Legendary games will publish a mythic adventure in the future. Also there will be mythic stuff interspersed in more and more paizo products. And I hope Kobold Press will introduce more mythic stuff into their setting/material.

What would be very interesting IMO is a mythic campaign setting product.

Of course you can always simply add a bit of mythic stuff to non-mythic modules. A kind of mythic update product on how to "mythify" other published adventures or APs might also be a good idea.

I've started another thread on how to adjust the existing APs for higher level groups, including potentially adding mythic elements, and I'd love any feedback you guys might have.

We are certainly monitoring the buying public's appetite for mythic content, both based on the community's response to the Wrath of the Righteous AP and to sales of our own mythic products.

As to what we might produce in the future in a mythic vein, we certainly have some ideas percolating. We will see what the new year brings...

Definitely want more mythic monsters and magic items myself.

+1

More mythic everything. Monsters, items, feats, paths, spells, modules, APs, everything. Anything.

There is definitely more mythic stuff on the way from Legendary Games!

Funny, as I was looking at the first couple posts in this thread I was thinking, "Perfect place for a 3PP to swoop in!," and almost on cue, I see Jason posting! Cool deal :)

I am terrible at writing long campaigns, and I have a bunch of players champing at the bit for a 20-level 6-tier mythic game. Won't somebody take all this money from me?
