Hello all, and thanks for taking the time to read this. I am currently working on a College project and could use some help from the community. Just take a few moments to take my minor survey here and answer a few questions. And thanks in advance!

1. Are you familiar with the American Electoral Process for President of the United States?

2. Do you know what the Electoral College is?

3. Do you know what the term Popular Vote is?

4. Have you ever voted in a Presidential election?

5. Do you feel your vote mattered?

6. Do you think the Electoral process is a fair one?

No - The winner takes all nature of the electoral college causes huge issues. Personally, I would like to see that removed and have the electoral votes partitioned based off of percentage of the state won. I don't like the popular vote because it means fraud in any area affects the whole system at large, while the percentage of electoral college significantly increases the ammount of fraud that needs to happen to alter the outcome.

YES TO ALL QUESTIONS. But the real question is: if you voted yes for questions 1-3, do you actually know as much as you think you do.

2. Do you know what the Electoral College is?
A group whose votes are more important than non members...

3. Do you know what the term Popular Vote is?
When the candidate admits he smoked weed at college.

4. Have you ever voted in a Presidential election?
No.

5. Do you feel your vote mattered?
Only the first time.

6. Do you think the Electoral process is a fair one?
Considering it violates your right to self representation, No.

Yes to all questions.

The Electoral College ensures the Republic part of our Democratic Republic, preventing the potential fraud of a "popular vote" or "general election" from consuming the masses.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. No. No.

I know that candidates from the two parties must win their primaries before they can face off against the other party's primary winner. I am not so sure if all third parties also have primaries. I believe at least some of them do.

Bladesinger wrote:

Vaguely. I know they are the ones that actually determine the President. I am not sure how they are selected.

Yes, I believe I have participated in four presidential elections.

Bladesinger wrote:

Only if my candidate won. :)

When I was younger I did. I am not so sure any more. I have read up on some other methods and I think there may be better ideas out there. Right now, I am intrigued by the run off election ideas (Like what Egypt is using as an example). I think it could help, although not eliminate, problems with third party candidates 'harming' one of the two primary parties.

Four 'Yes'es.
One 'NO - even if my candidate won'.
And one hollow laugh...

In that order.

1) Yes.
2) Yes. It's a system by which less populous, whiter states have their dirt accorded rights superior to that of actual people in more populous, less white states whilst facilitating some bread and circuses to hide the fact that most Americans are not only less than human, but literally less than dirt to their political system.
3) Yes. It's what would matter in an decent government designed to serve the people instead or rich white guys.
4) Yes.
5) Never. The electoral college ensures that no private individual's vote is ever anything more than an intellectual curiosity.
6) No, it's pretty close to the absolute opposite. It might be as close as it's even possible to get whilst still running sham elections.

Thanks to all of you who helped out!!
