We gather at noon and officially start at 1pm and go until 6pm. If you have a new character or need some help with a character and creating one, please arrive at noon and I or someone else would be more then happy to help you out.

We do this weekly on Sunday's, so if you are unable to make it this week, feel free to come another week too! :)

I look forward to meeting regulars and new people to this event. We welcome one and all!

Thanks for posting this. I had some major problems with my internet last week as well as some computer problems. I sent out a message to my email list with you on it as well explaining this.

I also misplaced the information admittedly so I am glad that you gave me the information on your character.. I usually post this as soon as a day afterwords so I did not loose anything like this. But since I was without the internet and with the computer problems it got put somewhere and I just can't seem to locate it now :(

I am sorry! :(

As soon as I get the others information I will post the scenario!!

Thanks!

Hi John. Looks like I didn’t end up getting on your email list (probably forgot to give you my address on Sunday), but I don’t see that I have gotten credit for Penumbral Accords yet either.

Character is Bbauzh 25159-1

No problems. Things happen.

The Exchange 2/5

I know the PFS at FFG is switching to Saturday June 18th because of Father's Day this weekend and they will be running "We be goblins".

Are you switching to Saturday as well and what is scheduled to be run?

If I can get two games in this weekend and actually play myself in one of them, I'll be very happy.

Thanks

Wow, I never even thought of the possibility of PFS getting rescheduled this week.

*eagerly awaits reply from Deanoth*

Liberty's Edge 5/5

I know that Ryan Bolduan (Twin Cities VC) is taking up a few tables on Saturday to run "We be Goblins". And since it is Free RPG day, I doubt there will be room to run a regular PFS scenario on Saturday.

There's nothing on Source's website about what they're doing for Free RPG day (I'm actually unfamiliar with it myself, too), but you're probably right.

Now if only I could play PFS on Saturday AND Sunday... ;)

Well the rumor is that We be Goblins will get you a chronicle sheet. So you COULD play PFS, just not with your character.

Hello!

To clear things up here. The group that normally meets at FFG on the 1st and 3rd Sunday had to cancel due to Father's day. We are; however, running games at both locales that are participating in Free RPG Day, The Source, and Fantasy Flight Games.

Fantasy Flight Games is set-up and ready to go. Sign-up is already available on-site. I have no idea how many free seats remain - I will find out later today. The Source is a bit more complicated. Burl and I are working through exact details, but there was a Magic Tournament scheduled for the same day, so we have a bit more to do. I will be hosting there sometime between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, I just do not know exactly when yet.

I will make a formal announcement once The Source is available.

To clarify. Mark Moreland is currently working on a chronicle sheet for We Be Goblins. It will likely be available only for 1st level characters only with rewards probably on-par with what was available for Master of the Fallen Fortress for Free RPG Day last year. If you have a character you've already played with, this would be a great chance to give an alternate character a chronicle sheet.

We don't have specifics yet, and my comments above are speculation based on how Free RPG Day has been run in the past. I will let you guys know once I know more.

I'm a bit confused, likely due in large part to my never having played any RPG at an event before.

You say there will be a chronicle sheet for We Be Goblins, but that I can't bring an existing character... Is that to say that if I've made - but not played - a character, I can bring said character and play it as normal, gaining the usual XP/PA/GP/loot?

EDIT: Also, to confirm, exactly what day is Free RPG Day? The Source doesn't have it on their website yet and I haven't gotten their weekly newsletter this week yet.

Ryan may be better able to give you a more official answer than I, but from what I understand, “We Be Goblins” is a module (as opposed to a PFS scenario) and is treated with different rules for chronicle sheets than modules are. Modules are any of the adventures written by Paizo that are not PFS specific scenarios.

As such, “We Be Goblins” will grant you a module chronicle, to which you can apply to any 1st level character, just like if you do not play your PFS character for a module (like Ebon Destroyers that allows you to create a one-shot 7th level character if you do not have or do not want to risk your PFS character). But in this case, “We Be Goblins” has Goblin pre-gens that you play through the module.

No problem.

For regular PFS play you get a chronicle indicating that you have played and are provided rewards in the form of gold, XP, and pa based on your character's performance. For special events such as these the chronicle sheet is different. You play through the module under the requirements of the game (in this case you play a pregen goblin) and gain a chronicle at the end. However, since this us not a standard module some special rules kick in. Specifically the chronicle sheet can only be applied to a low level (traditionally starting) character. Essentially you get credit for playing through with a pregen character and giving the credit to a different character.

Free RPG day is Saturday June 18th. The Source has not announced anything yet because we are still trying to organize around a Saturday Magic tournament.

Grand Lodge 2/5 RPG Superstar 2015 Top 32, RPG Superstar 2012 Top 32

Well, that's certainly interesting. Sounds pretty fun - never played a goblin before, and a little extra swag for the cleric I was about to start anyway doesn't sound half bad.

So would this slightly-different chronicle sheet provide XP/PA, or just gold/loot?

We do not know yet and i do not want to make any promises.

There has only been one Free RPG day mod to date and it provided XP and gold. The quest only provides boons. I would assume you will get something but cannot be sure what they are at this time.

Grand Lodge 2/5 RPG Superstar 2015 Top 32, RPG Superstar 2012 Top 32

Well, whatever the case, I'd still play just to be a goblin hero. Anything I can toss onto my new cleric is just a bonus. :D

Here's hoping I have the schedule availability to play.

Ok, maybe I'm not reading this correctly but I think you could be confusing some people.

I was not aware that you were the one running things at the Source on Sundays and that group is what my question is all about.

What I want to know is;

Is Jon Lamkin running "we be goblins" on Saturday at the Source?

Is he running "we be goblins" on Sunday at the Source?

Is he running his regular PFS game on Sunday at the Source?

If "We Be Goblins" be running at the Source on Saturday, it will NOT be Jon Lamkin, but rather Ryan and myself.

I don't know what Jon is planning on doing on Sunday.

I am sorry if this is at all confusing.

Jon Lamkin runs games Sundays at The Source. This weekend, on the 19th, I believe Jon is planning a game. I cannot host a game this Sunday due to the holiday; therefore, if you're looking for a Sunday game, continue to talk to Jon as the game on the 19th is in his arena. I do not know what Jon is planning on running, but I suspect he will pop in and let you guys know.

As for the Free RPG day on Saturday the 18th, we will be running the Free RPG Day Module "We Be Goblins!". There is also a Free RPG day event at FFG also running "We Be Goblins!" which I have also helped organize. At this point I am working with Burl to get the game up and running at The Source, but since we are working around a competing event (specifically a Magic the Gathering event) on Saturday, I do not yet have details as to when the We Be Goblins game is occurring.

One thing to remember is that while I may not run specific events at specific locations, it is one of my duties to keep abreast of other games in the cities and lend resources when I can. In this case, I am helping The Source out on Free RPG day, not the regularly scheduled Sunday game.

Grand Lodge 5/5

Hello all!
Wow I was surprised to come in here and find that this thread had some life to it hehe. Well, as Ryan had mentioned that I am the one running things on Sunday's at the Source and will NOT be running We Be Goblins while this Sunday either.

I am running Part two of the City of Strangers though. Fathers day or no. (I am a father myself) :)

Burl is a nice guy and I am sure Ryan will get things worked out for running an event at The Source for Saturday. (I was thinking of doing something there on Saturday when I remembered about Free RPG Day but had my regularly scheduled game to contend with on Saturdays)

Everyone is more then welcome to join us on either day or both of the days if you so like. The Source is a fun venue to play in and enjoy the PFS events. I hope to meet you all there and maybe even on Saturday too. Enjoy!!

I am wondering what is being played this Sunday? I would rather not have it conflict with any scenarios I've registered to play on Warhorn with the group at FFG.

Thanks!

Speaking of FFG, have they switched to Saturdays yet?

This Saturday yes, and it's a double header slotted to start at 10am and then at 2pm.

But you wouldn't know that if you looked at Warhorn, you'd probably show up at noon and look bored for 2 hours.

O RLY?

So, is the plan for them to overlap or for the first to finish in time for a player to be in both? (Relatedly, are they running the same PFS scenario, or different ones?)

Playing PFS all day long sounds awfully fun... :D

They will not overlap. The same DM’s are running both slots, so if you want to stay that long, you can play both. If you are signed up on the Meetup site, you can RSVP for both slots or just show up by 10am for the first slot. They are not the same module, but rather part 1 and part 2 of a two-part series.

2/5

The plan is Session 10-2 and session 2-6, that way you can play both in the same day.

I know right? This is going to be awesome!

I hope we get a half hour or something for lunch though, FFG doesn't allow you to bring in outside food.

And with it being a two-parter, would I need to play the same character for both?

Yes, same character for both if you want, but I suppose you don't have to if you don't want to.

Ryan has informed me that we have completely transitioned away from Warhorn to Meetup.

Another follow up.

at 10am we are running #2-23: Shadow's Last Stand - Part I: At Shadow's Door.

at 2pm we are running #2-24: Shadow's Last Stand - Part II: Web of Corruption.

Since Jon tends to run similar modules as the FFG group, and he hasn't been keeping people up to date on what he's running, make sure you haven't played in either of these before you show up at 10am.

As far as I'm aware, the only way you could play the one you already played, is if Play, play play rule was in effect and we needed you to make a table go. And then you'd have to play a pre-gen.

So if you want to play the one you GM'd, that would certainly be ok, but you'd have to play it with a different character than the one you got GM credit for.

For fun, and no credit, you could replay the module you've already played apparently. If you did, I'd suggest a pre-gen.

I'm attached enough to my characters by now that I'm not sure a pre-gen would be much fun. ;)

Tell me, if you would: what would you estimate the odds of my not having a spot if I show up for Part II without "reserving" a spot now? I.e., if I wait until tomorrow to decide if I want to play in Part II (the one I GM'd before), how likely am I to be out of luck due to lack of table space?

Well I guested you, so you have a spot right now for the 2pm slot. I will take you off the 10am slot if you want.

But last I checked there were still 7 or 8 spots left.

I have not commented on this thread yet because it's for Jon's game at The Source and last time I did so it caused much confusion. Jacob,

Right now I am not sure. I think I might do that though but I am thinking I might do some handouts for the Source and give the Introduction mods on another day other then Sunday, maybe Saturday... in this way we can do them for introducing people to the game and maybe get more involved at the Source then! :)

What do you think??

Grand Lodge 2/5 RPG Superstar 2015 Top 32, RPG Superstar 2012 Top 32

The intro mods sure sound like they'd be good for teaching (especially with the fact that they don't need to pick a faction immediately). Logistically, though, it seems like the newbies tend to wander in with no prior warning, and then they may not come back. It would need to be announced ahead of time, and either have a marathon one-day session or find a way to get people to come back twice. I dunno, I'm not much of an event planner, but that's what I've got off the top of my head.

I completely agree with needing to do this ahead of time and the need to arrange a special day for this I think would be best. Yes we do have people wandering in all the time and being able to the Source involved in the planning would be a good thing.

I will speak with them and see what they think about doing this on a day when it would be best. I think each scenario is meant to be ran in a 2-3 hour slot so maybe we can do all of them on one day or over a series of days/evenings during the week. The Source also has a weekly email that is sent out to everyone too.. so this might work there as well as having hand outs involved at the checkout register too along with handouts for PFS on Sundays would be a good thing.

Anyone good at designing handouts?? I have an idea for them. But not good at writing blurbs. If someone wants to write something up let me know and I will put it on the handout for the Source..

What do you all think??
