Whispers is difficult to read at times both careful and playful. He is street smart and guarded. Often responsive in social situations giving as good as he gets. Whispers is interested in helping the people of his adopted city. Despite his somewhat kindhearted goal Whispers is cynical of others and slow to make friends feeling afraid to lose anyone else. History:
[spoiler=History] Whispering Bear of the Rumbling Waters Clan was born 27 years ago. Named for the sound of the waterfall from which his clan took their name. Whispering Bear lived with his family in the Rifenmist Jungle. He remembers his family fondly though life in the jungle was hard. The Tabaxi were beset with adversaries. The worst came in a band of Hobgoblin slavers of the Iron Authority from Tz'Arrm. Many of the Rumbling Waters Clan were taken many killed.
Whispering Bear was among those taken. He was taken north to the cruel city of Tz'Arrm where he and the other survivors were sold. Quick and clever the slave masters used the Tabaxi child to make money from their customers by a second means, picking the pockets of those gathered at the slave auctiongs. Whispering Bear hated the Hobgoblins but he took some pleasure in stealing from those who were buy slaves even if he had to turn that money over to his own owners. After years in Tz'Arrm Whispering Bear known then as Whispers if he was ever called by name was sold. Agents of the up and coming crime network the Myrriad purchase many "exotic" slaves for markets in the north. The trek north into the colder lands was hard on Whispers as each step repeated in his mind that there was no home to return to even if you knew the way. After months of travel the slave caravan was attacked and liberated by soldiers from a nearby city Specularam. He remembers the mixed feelings of joy seeing the demise of the slavers but wishing he was not in a cage in a wagon. Longing to take his claws to the flesh of the slavers himself. Specularam was a foreign and strange place. He was still young barely a teen and he was taken into the city and brought to an orphanage. While many other kids saw the orphanage as a sad place for Whispers it was a step up from the cruelty of Tz'Arrm or the Myriad slave caravan. Life in the orphanage was an easier system to learn, he had chores that were easier than when he was a slave, quarters not as dirty and he had friends. He was educated to an extent. As such he began to learn about the injustice that was Specularam. Run by the corrupt. It sickened him that he was freed by men who took an oath to serve the city but were likely tipped off because the caravan didn't bribe the right crime boss. Still he wanted to make a difference. When the time came he enlisted with the city watch. His hope that he could help those that suffered in his new home. His natural agility and skills made him a scout and used as an infiltrator and on stakeouts. A little more than a month ago. Whispers was fired. His zeal for the job ran him afoul of a criminal who had some political pull. Cast out from the Guard a sort of family to him. Worse one of his friends died chasing the same sort of lead a few days after he was fired. Something he feels some responsibility for. ________________________________________________________________________ Equipment Burglar's Pack:
