Backstory

Vorin was born and raised in the streets Caliphas. Orphaned at a young age, Vorin had a brutal taskmistress at the head of the orphanage, so he took to the streets. Not the biggest, or strongest of the children of the street, he found his niche. Namely, to be able to get places where others couldn't. However, those talents got the attention of others as well.

Grabbing him off the streets, he was taken in by a group of assassins, who saw he had talent. After all, who would miss a child off the streets? From then on, his training began. How to disguise, how to lie, how to make your way around the streets of a city without being noticed. All these skills and more were learned, until the time came for him to finally join the ranks of his brothers. Receiving his first contract, Vorin took a knife and headed out, his target- an annoying merchant that was eking in on wealthier man's monopoly. It was easy, except for the moral dilemma of taking the mans life, but the act of slitting a man's throat? That was easy.

As the years passed, Vorin started to develop a code: don't kill unnecessarily, but if collateral happens, it happens. Breaking law without contract sows chaos, and chaos is bad for business. Contract after contract, life after life, he took. One of his contract brought him across Professor Lorrimor, who was being shaken down by a mark. Slaying the mark, the professor managed to get away safely, and thanked Vorin profusely. Giving his name to the old man, Vorin took an odd liking to him. As the professor hired him for protection, the two started to become friends. So when he received a summons to the professor's funeral, Vorin decided to go. After all, as an assassin, it wasn't often that you have a friend, and so it's only fitting that you say goodbye.
