Udoeak sighs, taking a small vial from his belt. "I'd not intended to use this on anyone but those I travel with, if not myself, but I suppose I can part with it," he says, kneeling next to the man and uncorking the container, lifting the lip of it to the old man's lips.

Infused CLW: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Udo, disgruntled, and disappointed that he didn't save his mutagen for now, swings again, hoping to connect with the rough hide of the bear.

Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Sneak Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 3

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

"That's it. Either we take it out or it takes us out," Udo says, turning his blade to the beast.

Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Good job, Udo. Way to back up your words with that low roll.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Well, even though you began it before the bear attacked, the summoned creature comes into being on your next turn. Whether you started it or not, it shouldn't be done yet. As for Gorax's readied action, I don't see anywhere where you specifically told him to do so, nor did he ready an action, himself. You told him to be ready to take it on if it charges, but that's it.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Udoeak will move to flank with someone, 5-foot stepping if possible, followed by an attack, hitting with the flat of his blade. He's probably going to provoke an attack of opportunity.

Longsword attack, -4 for Nonlethal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Longsword Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 19

"Alright, that's enough of that, Warren, it's not working," Udo says, brandishing his sword. and giving it a berth, walking to the side, hoping for a better angle.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Udoeak drinks an extract of Shield before advancing, drawing his sword and advancing alongside Warren.

No need for me not to be up here. I haven't been touched, and I'll do just fine, I'm sure, he says, adjusting his glasses. If you're so worried about being hit, I'm sure Gorax and I can engage it, between the two of us.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Udoeak draws his blade. Whatever it is, it looks like it's big, he says, pointing out the broken lower branches at the opening. He soon ducks down, now keeping his voice down as well. "Something's certainly up ahead, probably the source of all of these bones."

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

Udoeak seems consumed in thought, concentrating ahead as he walks. After a little while, he sighs and says, "&!#@. This place may not be as safe as it first looked. The vale is riddled with bones, in the tall grass. I don't doubt that there's danger to be found there."

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

Udoeak follows behind on the trail, keeping an eye out, but feeling much better about the general open-ness of the area than the environment of the cavern. It's certainly a nice day, Udoeak says, concentration breaking a bit as his eyes wander over the scenery.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

I assume I would have taken my sword from the ground before leaving, I hope. It only just occurred to me that I hadn't actually said I'd do that. Also, by this time, Udo's mutagen has well worn off, and by the time we're all in light, he's completely back to his normal self.

Udoeak shakes his head. I'm fine. I suppose I'll keep an eye out, myself.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Udoeak lets the others go before himself. " Never expected you to, Stellan. Now get going, I'll bring up the rear."

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

I've no idea how long Udoeak has remaining on his Enlarge Person duration. I can, I believe, squeeze in the space, taking -4 penalty to hit and AC.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

I'm not sure if I count as having had my ranged weapon readied, but I'll roll anyway. If just having taken it out doesn't count, then just ignore the roll.

Sling Attack, targeting the damaged one: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Sling Damage: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

That's sure what it looks like, Stellan.

Kn(Dungeoneering): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

Whatever we do, we've got to do it quick. If they keep bringing down rocks, it could trigger a much bigger, more dangerous collapse. If those rocks fall, it's possible that all of us could die.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Udoeak drops his sword, swatting away a few of the larger rocks that come down before they do any damage, and takes out his sling, loading it. Alright, we can try that.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 Udoeak gets hit in the head by a few rocks, and a small stream of blood oozes from his scalp. He continues looking up nonetheless, watching for any more signs of movement from above.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Udoeak once more readies himself for the creatures, ears ringing.

Actions:
Another readied action to hit one as it flies near, and I'll put an AoO here, too.

Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Damage: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (1, 6) + 10 = 17

Attack of Opportunity: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

Damage: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (4, 2) + 10 = 16

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Udoeak nods, still off balance. "Keep it up," he says, readying another blow for whatever bat is ill-fortuned enough to meet his blade.Same actions as last round, readied action, and I'll post an AoO.

Readied Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Damage: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (3, 3) + 10 = 16

AoO: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Damage: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (6, 6) + 10 = 22

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Udoeak is much more visibly affected by this screech, unable to cover both of his ears while holding his sword. He shakes it off after a few seconds, but his actions are still sluggish.

Udoeak, on his initiative, readies an action to Attack the first of them that comes into his threatened range. These actions are assuming he drank his mutagen before they came down.

Readied Attack, if applicable: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Damage: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (1, 1) + 10 = 12

Attack of Opportunity, if applicable: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Damage: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (5, 3) + 10 = 18

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Iniative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

If he's got time, Udoeak will drink his mutagen at this point. +4 Str, +2 Nat Armor, and -2 Intelligence. He should also have at least a minute left on Enlarge person, seeing as how it's got a 2 minute duration at this point.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

I guess. It just struck me as an incredibly strange thing for a druid to do, urinating on the holy relic of a nature-related deity. Sure, Erastil's no Gozreh, but it still struck me as a rather odd thing to do.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

I wouldn't doubt that it's too late for that, Udoeak says as Warren drips blood into the cup. He re-readies his longsword, still massive as he looks up into the darkness for the source of the screeches. I suggest we get ready...

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

"My thoughts are much simpler."

For being a druid, that seems like a fairly Un-druidly thing to do. The only reasoning I could possibly see for that action is that the water of life is still running through you, as you drank it earlier, and this is your way of "sacrificing" it. Still, it doesn't seem very sacrificial to me, and indeed, much closer to sacrilegious. I'm pretty sure Thad's going to get at least a little pissed off (pun unintended), and I wouldn't be surprised if Erastil was peeved at your actions, either.

In any case, you've acted, and we'll see how it turns out, I suppose.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Udoeak continues standing, out slightly on the ledge, waiting for his extract to end. Surely, a helluva thought, Stellan. One I'm not particularly interested in finding out.

Interestingly, I believe that, since the extracts aren't actually spells, they aren't dismissible like spells would be. DM's input is appreciated, but this is how I believe it to be. And it would make sense, at least from a flavor standpoint. Why would it be easier to just stop being affected by an extract, any more than one could just stop being drunk?

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Fist? I was using a longsword, which is the only reason I dealt 2d6 damage. Not a huge deal, but it wouldn't have happened otherwise.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Very sorry to hear about that, DM Tareth. Take your time, and we'll be here. RL comes first, buddy.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Udo's got a few different choices.

If the ledge has a decent area for him to stand on:

Udoeak steps in front of Anwel, drinking an extract of Enlarge Person. "Step back, it's easier to protect you that way," he says, readying for the next pass. Enlarge Person grants him 10 ft reach, which may or may not give him an AoO when the thing passes.

Damage, Attack below should work for either attack, they'll be at the same bonus: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 5) + 7 = 17

If not...:

Udo tries to hit the beast once more as it approaches, hopefully dealing damage and stepping in front of Anwel, pushing him back slightly. "Step back, it's easier to protect you that way," he says, readying for the next pass.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Udoeak steps closer to the edge and draws his sword, readying an action to slash at the beast as it comes back around, swinging with both hands.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Sorry about the silence, been sans Internet for a while. Posting from my phone at the moment.

Fortitude: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Udoeak immediately brings his hands to his ears at the screech of the bat-like thing. "What the hell was that? That was far bigger than any bat I've ever seen!"

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

DM Tareth:
I didn't drink from the cup. Warren said that he made sure all had had a chance to drink, but Udo never took the opportunity.

Looks like a helluva drop... Udoeak says, looking down, first, then out towards the other side.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Well isn't that nice. Let's get going, then. We've spent enough time here.

Udoeak motions forward, taking a spot in the back to watch our collective backs.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Udoeak pats Anwel on the back, helping him empty his throat/lungs of the blackish phlegm. Are you going to be okay? he asks, helping the elf to his feet if indeed his help is accepted.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Udoeak shakes his head. "There's an inscription here, but I can't read it. There're also a few clay pieces; a cup and a platter."

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

"Deception may not be the best way to make friends," Udoeak says, breaking his silence (Sorry about that. I haven't seen any of the latest updates in the thread.), "But sometimes deceptions are necessary. They certainly have the opportunity to backfire, but we'll deal with that when we need to, if we do. The best we can do now is that it won't come to bite us in the ass when the cards are on the table. Looking the way things have gone with him, however, that doesn't seem likely. He certainly seems to me "

Udoeak has his sword drawn as well as the group walks down the path, wary of the darkness and keeping his eyes peeled.

Low-light vision is rather nice to have in this sort of situation. Not as good as dark vision most of the time, but it helps that Light spell do a little bit more.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

If you haven't enough healing for all, pass on me til the end, friend. Udoeak says, passing on the healing until necessary.

You've got a fair point, I suppose. I'll take care of these myself, though, Udoeak says, pulling a small vial off of his belt and quaffing. As he does so, the cuts and bruises adorning his arms and legs disappear.

My horse looks fine, though I'll be walking her from now on. Never had much luck with horses...

Udoeak gets up, rubbing his arm before helping Andrei up. Hearing the other elf, he calls back, "Not too much damage, just a little banged up. Nothing broken 'cept the skin, which is good." He walks over to his horse, favoring his left side for a while before walking normally. He wets a small piece of cloth, cleaning most of the dirt from his wounds.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Ride: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Oof. I didn't have much luck with Udo and horses in the IRL game he was originally a part of, either. Probably had 6-7 horses die, directly linked to Udoeak. One of which was cut in half by a Scythe crit from a foe, right from under him.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Udoeak nods, breaking his relative silence. "I know enough of the tongue to get along. I should be able to serve as an interpreter, as well.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

I agree with Anwel. If at all possible, it'd be best to avoid them, in my opinion, though it doesn't count for much. There's no need for bloodshed if it can be spared. Now, if we don't succeed in sneaking around, it may be a different story, but until then, it would seem to be in our best interests not to bother with them.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Udoeak gets his extracts in order, enjoying the warm morning and stretching afterward, getting ready for another long day of walking.

Udo nods. "Either is fine. Like I said, you have the choice."

You're right, he says, smiling slightly. "I couldn't have done it without them. Unfortunately, they were killed, travelling through the wastes of Numeria, although I don't believe whoever it was who did it survived. Udoeak looks over the sleeping Sowers. Not quite. Though one may have had the strength of Andrei, or maybe even Gorax or Warren, my companions were an all-together shadier bunch. We had a mage of sorts, but he drew his power from his bloodline, or so he said.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

After Anwel has spoken, Udo runs his hand through his hair, jostling his glasses slightly in the process. He responds in kind, in Elven, although his intonations are odd. It doesn't appear he was taught to speak the tongue by an elf, though the words come freely enough. Well, that is unfortunate, that you will have to wait so long for true freedom, but you appear to have at least some free will as long as you adhere to her demands. And it seems she's underestimated your intellect, as well. Your plan should work, hopefully.

"My own enslavement is a different matter. My childhood friends and I were taken from an orphanage, in Numeria, during a raid. Those who were bothersome were killed outright, while the rest were sold into slavery. I, and many others, were sold to Omar, a merchant in Chesed, who trained us in all manner of things, but a fair bit in the manner of espionage. To cut a long story short, he took the love of my life from me, and sent me to a salt mine to live out the rest of my life. Opportunistic bastard that I am, I broke free, with a bit of luck and well-placed incompetency, determined to win her back and flee. I was driven back in my haste, however."

So I hid, although not far enough. I fled to Starfall, where I had a few companions, and managed to make a few new friends of my own. Again, I'll spare the details, but with a plan, and companions, I managed to end him, mostly thanks to his overconfidence, and a gift from my parents. He had already taken my love from me, in more ways than one, and so I have lost her to Pharasma. But finally, I was free, as were those few who had survived his enslavement. In my grief, I set out for new lands, sick of those where I had lived, loved, and lost, and so here I am. He fiddles a bit with the holy symbol of Desna he keeps around his neck, and wipes a tear in memory, but otherwise keeps himself composed.

I haven't gone by this name in some time now, but you can call me Mikol, as was given me by Mother Emma, from the orphanage. She may not have known our language, but she tried. Udoeak gives a small smile at this last little bit. You can call me that, or continue as you have been, calling me Udo.

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Udoeak nods, agreeing that it's good that we've gotten a chance to talk.

"Stellan spoke briefly on the matters of a dispute in leadership, although we seemed to be doing fine without a leader in the past. Regarding you? He told me of your enslavement to a Shadowmistress of Nidal, and of your torture in the past. He spoke briefly of your scars, and her scrying power. Other than that, he relayed to me how our companions feel on the matter, or at least what he knows of their feelings." Udoeak pinches the bridge of his nose at this last bit in annoyance.

"Now, on to what I think about it. This is obviously a terrible thing, one which will have to be rectified in due time. I know at least some of your pain, albeit at the hands of a less competent master, and yet, here I am. I've seen slavery ruin more lives than I care to speak of, and so I will, if I have any way of doing so, strive to help free you of this burden."

"Whether you add anything or not is up to you. For now, I know enough that I might make a decision regarding you. Unfortunately, by all accounts I've heard of her power, it seems as if we will not be freeing you soon, and so I am afraid you will have to carry on as is; for how long, I'm not certain."

17/17HP; AC17/13/14; Fort +4 Ref +6 Will +0; Init+3; Perception +7

Warren, I was looking over your profile, and Spell Focus: Summoning isn't a feat. The one you're looking for is Spell Focus: Conjuration. Spell Focus: Summoning, even if it were applicable, wouldn't do anything, as summoning spells don't have a DC to save against.
