Yes, Aard that's the plan. Neva wants to know, a) to which sects could we look for allies, and b) are there any she feels are strong enough to handle such a challenge.

Obviously, this is one of those situations that are difficult to adjudicate in RPGs. A month ago in the game world, our characters were 1st-lvl losers and had neither allies nor a claim to fame and there were many people better fit to meet the challenges we were trying to overcome. But now, we have allies and a claim to fame so we should be able to ask powerful people for favors. But it's a role-playing game and we're supposed to be the heroes who solve these problems! If we wanted NPCs to solve all the problems would could wrap this Path up in an afternoon of expository prose.

This is a difficult encounter. We're weak, he's strong, but the heroic thing is to thwart or destroy the bad guy. Is there a way to do that with allies/personages in Korvosa (that we know of)?

Neva watched the negotiation proceed with growing interest. Sending this powerful creature out of Korvosa seemed like a good idea.

But where would it end up?

She held her tongue, but stood ready to either aid the diplomacy, or end it, if need be.

Neva's going to need some sense that she isn't just handing a horrible problem on to some unsuspecting innocents

Neva felt her breath coming and going rapidly, ready for a fight, but her mind sensed that Feldy had other plans and her exhaustion made her wait and see.

She took a less aggressive pose and listened intently to the words being exchanged, hoping this would help defuse the situation long enough for Feldy to finish his ploy.

Neva's willing to hear the parley continue. She's old enough to know that sometimes you have to retreat. The main threat is destroyed, and this one can be hunted down later.

Anyway, let the role-playing encounter proceed!

Gasping at the news, Neva quickly removed a scroll from her pouch, read the inscription and placed a ward on Rutter.

draw scroll and cast Protection from Evil on Rutter. Moving if I need to touch. Rutter, that's a +2 deflection to AC, and a +2 resistance to saves, if you don't already have those. But mainly it provides another save vs. mental control with a +2 morale bonus.

Neva snarled at the smirking creature and raised her crossbow to fight.

Neva's rage and disgust turned to bitter sarcasm as she spoke. "We have wrought vengeance and death upon those who have spread pain and disease throughout Korvosa. Explain, if you can, why you might deserve a different fate. And quickly, or else we'll see if you have expressions other than smug stupidity to share."

Once done with the healing, Neva reloaded and readied her crossbow.

As Neva followed Raliscar to the unopened door, she distractedly accepted the periapt from Feldy. She was realizing that Raliscar still had an untended wound on his leg.

She re-drew her wand to solve the problem.

As the others sorted through the room, Neva tended to their many wounds. At one point, she gathered everyone together for some prayers and blessings.

With everyone mostly healed by Pharasma's grace, Neva gave one last ministration from a wand to Vyshael.

So, 22hp healing to everyone, and 27hp healing to Vysh

That 120' fall was freaking hysterical. I laughed so hard, but I remember the player not being too pleased. Then another PC jumped out to "save" him. My cleric Tanjvats had the ring of feather falling, jumped after both of them, with the first PC dead in the water and the second one in deep negatives. I saved him, I think.
The rest of the PCs were like "Why do all these people keep jumping off this ledge!?!? Is there a curse?!!?"

So funny!

Ever get that feeling in a game like the DM sees the TPK coming and doesn't really want to roll the dice? :-)

I think survivors might need to bolt if she's not out next round.

Neva finally decided on Vyshael, as he seemed the most wounded.

To the monstrosity she shouted, "The Grey Lady will have your soul for this! How dare you presume to take life in this way. Your b#!+* goddess will fall, and her plans will come to nothing!"

Use wand on Vysh. No move. Talk smack to draw an attack as a free action. :-)

Neva eyes flitted between Rutter, Vyshael, Raliscar and the undead monstrosity, trying to decide where to apply some positive energy. Doubt and fear clouded her mind. Every second seemed to last a day.

Vyshael's massive bulk made the wounds on his body that much more alarming. The sight of them took Neva's thoughts off the monster and her crossbow. She took a few quick strides towards Vyshael, pulling a slender wand from her belt and did her best to apply healing in the midst of battle.

I have wands to heal Vysh. I can probably take an AoO and survive. Especially if we can keep that scythe out of her hands. Maybe Rutter could do that?

I think the eversmoking bottle would hurt Raliscar more than her. Thunderstone sounds good.

I have a scroll of Hide from Undead, but it's a touch spell, she'd get a Will saving throw, and we'd lose the invisibility if even one of us attacked. Doesn't seem worth the action.

So, I'll focus on keeping everyone healed, Rutter takes her weapon, and we'll ablate her HP as best we can?

I forgot, but when you reroll your Knowledge checks, you get to add my WIS bonus (+3) to your roll.

Recall (Su): With a touch, you can cause a creature to recall some bit of forgotten lore or information. The creature can retry any Knowledge skill check it has made within the past minute, gaining a insight bonus on the check equal to your Wisdom modifier. You can use this ability a number times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

She rubbed her forhead and used her Recall domain power, 4 used of 6 daily
