Background:

Spoiler:
Lorin grew up in a family of farmers. He was always curious about how things worked, especially the complexities of nature, and was quick to befriend any small animal that found its way to his home. However, he found that farming did not satisfy his curiosity of the world around him, and he decided that he did not want to be a farmer.

One day, a druid named Eilynn came to the farmlands, offering to help the farmers to ensure a bountiful harvest and to teach the farmers of the lands surrounding them. Lorin was fascinated with all that Eilynn had to offer the farmers, and he asked her endless questions about the land and of the natural world. Deciding that he did not want to continue his life on the farm, he begged Eilynn to take him as a mentee. Seeing his sincerity, Eilynn agreed.

The two spent years together, and Lorin grew to know the land well. However, Lorin soon realized his curiosity continued to grow. Wanting to see what the world had to offer, Lorin decided to set off on his own to satisfy his curiosity and learn all he could. In addition, perhaps he could do his part to teach others of the land as well.
