Bonus Feats : A gladiator may choose to take combat or performance feats as bonus feats.

Fame (Ex) : At 2nd level, when a gladiator begins a performance combat, he always starts with at least 1 victory point. If he already has victory points, he gains 1 extra victory point. Appearance and Personality:
Battle scars and an affected scowl still don't mar the handsome, yet rugged, features of this veteran warrior. While in the arena, Grigore earned the moniker "the grim" from his fierce fighting-style and swift punishment doled to foes over which he had gained the upper hand. After retiring from the arena he traveled the world, trying to use his fame to his advantage, bumming a free drink or lodging when he could. He now tries to pretend that he hasn't changed much since his fighting days, but he actually enjoys the laid-back life in the Sandpoint militia. If a legitimate threat arrives to endanger the people, Grigore will be the first in line to defend them.

Background:

Grigore was born to be a fighter. From fighting over scraps of food with his brothers to brawls with the other kids in the streets of Riddleport solely for fun, Grigore has been fighting his entire life. It was only natural that he eventually decided to do so for a living. At the age of 15 he entered the ranks of fighters in Zincher's Arena, suffering terrible beatings more often than not, but learning from his mistakes.

As the years went by he learned that martial prowess wasn't enough--time and again less-skilled warriors would win their matches inexplicably. At first he assumed the fights were fixed, but he came to realize that the favor of the crowd swayed the outcome of a fight more often than not. Armed with this knowledge, he played up to the crowd, fighting not only to exploit his opponents' weaknesses, but also to give the audience the show they demanded. He rose in the ranks of the public eye, but was forced into retirement after winning a match against a heavily-favored opponent with some powerful financial backers.

Since then Grigore traveled Varisia, fighting in whatever fights he could find and striving to live on his reputation. After many years of nomadic living he settled in Sandpoint, acting in plays in the faint hope of rekindling some spark of excitement and the adoration of the audience that he once felt in his glory days. He has come to enjoy his semi-retirement and life in Sandpoint, even joining the militia to help out when he can. He is content to relive the fights of his youth, but in the back of his mind he sometimes wonders how he'd fare if he had to face such a test today...
