About Fritz Lanhkmeier

"Tavern tales are great. Mine are the best because I've named a drink for each tale that has killed me: The Slider (Down the Dragon's hatch), dueling fireballs (a wizard combat), backstabbers stinger (two flanking rogues), and the desiccator (negative channeling attack). I'm either prematurely grey because of too many chats with the boatman, or maybe the rumored drow elf heritage...?"

As time has passed while traveling among the pathfinders, Fritz has learned that he works best as a quiet observer, scout, and specialist with local information. He has taken care to improve his archery so well that almost none can hide from his arrows. Although others may think of the ranger as being comfortable within the realm of fighters, the disciplined combatant customs, and the rugged hunter's life in the wildlands, Fritz prefers the leisurely loose life of rascals, rogues, bawdy bards, and outrageous tales in the taverns. A personal hobby has become sampling the local medicine, "aqua vitae" a.k.a. whiskey. If there is a local coppersmith, then there is likely a local distillery as well...
Prior to joining the pathfinders, Fritz grew through adolescence in the great city of Absalom. During this time he began living a night life of taverns, or night watches, and began learning the art of brewing as a way to stay indoors during the daytime and have an excuse to be in taverns and inns late through the night. Tavern life lent itself to easily gaining information and became useful to pass on to the night watch, leading to Fritz's first jobs to follow and find people as an informant. He was not a soldierly type and was teased for being "barely big enough to tip a jug." But his stealth, survival/tracking, and local knowledge eventually made him a favored "courier" and locator of various fugitives. He developed superior skill in marksmanship and often played tavern games of skill and dexterity. He learned to develop finesse with a rapier, and when his courier and scouting jobs became more dangerous he realized the value of a small short bow was much easier for concealment while in the towns and cities.

One month during the harvest season, Fritz had a mysterious visitor, Trazz Do'Rnox, a dark elf, who came to the tavern several nights throughout the month. He claimed he knew Fritz's great grandfather Calvert, (who was a half-elf who had a human wife). Trazz has kept a curious secretive eye on the human family line. (Was Trazz the father of Calvert?) He left a small pouch with several rare cave flowers (mushrooms?)green, blue and violet in color, and mentioned to Fritz that they would help him see things more easily. Fritz later ate a cave flower/mushroom, hoping for some grand insight into how to open the greatest distillery in Absalom, but suffered severe stomach cramps and saw what he thought was pixie fire lights bursting in his eyeballs...maybe these aren't for human consumption...

Whatever the purpose was for Trazz to give him these cave flowers remains a mystery.
