I have to post a list, but Silas has a bunch of scrolls. He can scribe them, so I started with a good bunch.

Since I saw your message about the phylactery, I did not get the headbands. They occupy the same slot.

I am building a cleric. I have everything built except the gear. Healing/Protection, lots of chenneling focus talents. Thus, I approve of the way you think.

What level and starting money am I building this cleric with?

Harlston is dead and you need a cleric?

The options then... in no particular order...

Paladin, basically Adjo fixed up.
Fighter, crit build. More damage than the paladin, but less defensive.
Rogue - Knife Master/Scout... should be some crazy damage.
Wizard - We find so much that goes to waste, I think a wizard could offer a lot. Unfortunately, damage would not be the focus.

I'll touch base tonight, I am hoping to at least pop on and say hey for a few minutes tonight, and see who's dead and what I should build.

Just touching base while I have a moment.

Back to work today after a week with the wife. Surgery went well and she is recovering on schedule. Back to work this morning for the first time in a week and I expect there is too much catching up for me even consider being able to make tonight's session.

Next week is looking very possible though. If you leave me a list of active classes after tonight's session so I can tell what the needs will be, I will have something in Steve's hand for review before the weekend begins.

Fantastic, im sure mt death will only be minorly saddening

I cannot commit to even minor sadness until you've completed a full session first. Sorry, that's just the way things go around here...

I've taken enough from the pool for now. Lets make certain everyone's getting a turn. But, if everyone is done, sell the warg armors and lets get Winchester some mithril chain.

If possible, I'd like to hold aside one of the worg plate armor for Winchester. I think we have three of them in total. Next feat I'll have Boon Companion, which I think will be enough for him to become size Large. Between Mighty Fists, improved natural attack, Worg armor, and the extra levels, Winchester might become a force in combat.

Greatclub +2

There was a +2 Greatclub. I think we are still better off selling it than holding onto something I may use once in a while.

Wasn't there also a magic hammer on the ogre? I just recall thinking I should hold on to it for the slash immune opponents, but then thought we could use the money instead.

As for 3d8 sneak at level 4, simple... I built level 5 characters and forgot during the discussion. :) Was easier to build at 5 and send the sheet once than do it once and go back the next day and send another.

Avoiding the trap is the entire purpose. I cannot see how finding a way around it is not defeating it.

I don't know if it is worth disabling magical traps, but considering I don't think we've encountered any yet, I didn't see it as a big deal.

As for whether the damage is worth it, hell yeah. At level 4 it's 1d4+2 + 3d8 == expected return of 20 damage. The other way is 1d8+1 + 3d6 == 15.5.
As you level, the difference becomes greater. The way the build works, I can pretty much guarantee a sneak attack every attack. When you start adding the Power Sneak chain on top of it, this curve gets even better.

Now, against opponents who take no precision, this will suck hard core.

He is indeed Infiltrator.

Oddly, the Rogue had worse trap skills but greater damage output. Knife Master/Scout is nasty.

I don't recall what coin Adjo had, it wasn't much. Made a list of the important items and calculated it was less than 50g from 14500, so I just rounded without counting all of the little items that would add up. He had like two weeks of food and stuff, but once I drew money from the collective pot I stopped having personal coin. I considered it part of the group purse.

I do not recall if I did Infiltrator. I'll have to look it up based on the sheet I emailed Steve before I saw the update. I don't have a printed sheet with me.

Ranger is set up to be a switch hitter. Style is Archer, but Feats/Stats point Two Hander. Undead and goblin enemies. With the Trapper Archtype for obvious reasons.

Off the top of my head, Adjo has the following:

Full Plate
Falchion +1
Amulet of Natural Armor +1
Dust Rose Ioun Stone (+2 CON, +1 REF)
Elixir of Truth

If the new Paladin would need this stuff, by all means. If you could decide who needs what before 5:00pm tonight, that will let me re-outfit one of the characters before game time.

If the new Paladin doesn't need some of this, let me know what. The Ranger would use the falchion and who wouldn't use the Ioun stone and amulet...

Two men approach, obviously arguing between themselves. The first, a tall muscular man with a short cut to his hair, sword on his back, bow in his hand and a wolf at his side begins. "The guild says you requested a trapper, so they sent me. My friend here needs you to tell him to go away and let me get to work."

The other, a smaller thinner man with his long hair braided down his back, responds. He stands proudly with his chain armor shirt well maintained, with no weapons visible.

"Please forgive Remington, he's not very well versed in manners. He's better among the wilds than people. Me, I am Fenton Harcort, but my friends call me Mudd." He chortles and continues, "The guild has heard you needed a trapper and has sent the two of us so you can decide whom you think will meet your needs best.

I am a trained scout, and while I am not as focused on trapping as others of my profession, I am still better than this wild oaf. "

Remington recognizes when he's being mocked and moves to confront Mudd, when his wolf steps between them. "OK, fine. Winchester has decided it's not time to teach you manners. I'll wait over here with a beer while you get the nerve together to send this rat away."

Oh you gotta be kiddin' me! I just used the money building two characters and came here to post something awesome to get people to decide which they wanted... and now I have to redo everything...

You're killin' me smalls!

I think the difference is the one magic item. The Ioun Stone is worth more than the rest of the gear Adjo had. Don't know why anyone would bury him with it, but, whatever.

As for the new character, Lew Zealand, the halfling Dust Thrower! 20 foot radius, save or insane CON damage. At the very worst, mass stun for 5d4 rounds for everthing it hits. This is gonna be great!

Scratch that. I am only spending the bare minimum on gear. The rest of the character's gold will be spent on Dust of Sneezing and Choking. Area Effect CON damage? Two can play at this game!

I have roughly 14.5K gold to spend on gear. If my characters do not have a magical weapon, please feel free to shun me.

When I get home from work I'll try to piece together the loots from previous posts. I was just filling in for the night.

As for the Adjo replacement, I have two characters built and cannot decide between the two. Rogue has more upside in specific situations, Trapper/Infiltrator Ranger has more general utility and a much kooler name at the moment. I'll make a decision before the weekend to give Steve time to look the characters over.

Adjo uses his two Hero points and awakens as you are lowering him into the grave. "That was a good nap! Lets get back to business!"

Do we have an idea of where we want to go? Not that we know enough about the possible destinations to alter our plans in any way, but in a meta-game sense we can save some extra time debating when we'd rather be playing. And, perhaps, it will allow Steve some extra time to prepare if he knows specifically where we're going to be.

We still have the area with the large pool of water to explore. Not the one we cleansed, but the other one with the dam and riddle.

From the pool of money, I'd like to buy a quiver of arrows.

Well, we certainly deciphered the number puzzle...

Also, I wouldn't mind holding onto the Longbow for situations where I cannot melee.

I am OK with these plans.

100% markup even if I bring all the materials? That's awful. For the price, I might as well buy a new magic falchion and not deal with the possibility of failure.

Perhaps an even swap of the Bastard Sword +1, which has the same cost associated? Bastard swords are exotic! Falchions are mundane... I bet a little diplomacy would be very effective in that regard...

I'll leave the decision to Harlston and Torald. I don't think I would justify spending 2300gp right now.

I am OK with the purchase. I think we'd only need enough for one person to get across the fire room so that should be OK.

The only thing I'd be interested in spending some money on is trying to get my falchion enchanted. The way my dice have been, any bonus counts. If I remember the rules properly, enchanting costs half the cost of the item itself. Since a Falchion +1 is 2375, if we can find someone to do the enchanting it should be about 1188. Not having to worry as much about breaking the weapon is also pretty important.

I'd be willing to sell the +1 Bastard sword to cover the costs, since I wouldn't need to carry it just for situations where I would need a magic weapon to do damage.

Selling Lamellar Steel and Scale Mail and purchasing Full Plate.

Amulet of NA+1 and the wand of CLW

Susan gave an Amulet of NA+1 to Adjo the previous week. That was not eaten by the mouth.

In an effort to get things prepared before game session, even though I have just sent the character off for approval, I thought I would introduce myself.

My name is Willie, and I will be playing a Paladin named Adjo (pronounced Ah-Jo).

As a child, Adjo was often scared of the dark until one night his fears seemed to manifest into a source of magical light. Believing this innate magic gift to be of divine origin, the elders of the village sent Adjo to the temple of Muir. Not one for the more delicate aspects of the clergy, Adjo focused in the martial roles and became a Paladin instead.

As word of Rappan Athuk spread, Adjo felt compelled to bring the protection of Muir and make a name for himself in the process.
