I think returning to Spurnholm would be one of the top choices. Haven't made 'real' plans yet. Without knowing what Baba Yaga is going to require for Jadrenka's freedom, would make planning sort of pointless.

Alright, before spending the rest of my money has anyone got a summary of all we know about the Queen? It takes me quite a while to search through the information and it would be good to make sure I'm not missing any of it.

Queen Elvanna is a winter witch. And they generally prefer cold and enchantment spells.

Is in the process of doing the winter ritual to expand Irrisen's eternal winter over all Golarion, giving her the power to conquer the whole planet and supplant Baba Yaga as the Queen of witches.

She has a daughter, Princess Cassioche - who is currently ruling Irrisen while she is away doing the ritual.

What she did:

-Got her Winter Guard to overthrow the Iron Guard(who was loyal to Baba Yaga), then ordered martial law in White Throne.

-Ordered the capture and execution of Baba Yaga's Three Riders

-Captured the Dancing Hut and kept it in White Throne as a trophy (right until meddling adventurers stole the Hut out)

-Collaborated with her half brother, Rasputin, to trap Baba Yaga in a matryoshka doll with the help of the World Engine, a machine made by Viktor Milosav

So we are headed into battle with Elvana.

Anyone have any plans? We really could use a better plan than just break in the door, kill everything.

My character has (via private sanctum) provided a location where we can talk and she or her underlings shouldn't be able to scry or spy on us.

I would appreciate others ideas of what we should prepare for before we head in.

A plan would be great, I have no idea what we will be facing other than the witch and I assume her retinue. I'm hoping that the weapons he has will work sufficiently.

The items Einar picked up are Runes of power 1st @ 4, Runes of power 2nd @ 4, Runes of power 3rd @ 1 and minor extend Metamagic rod (+1 spell level) @ 2. Those Items should help extend the shield, mirror image and fly spells. Then Page of spell knowledge 2nd level for Resist Energy @ 2 and Elixir of elemental protection @ 2; for help against the cold.

I wanted to get something to prevent death magic, cause lets face it, any spell caster ran my Mort that might have something with death magic, they would use it...just sayin'

Since Einar has almost 40,000 gp. left if there is anything you can think of he should get let me know, I think I got the items you listed earlier.

Should I retcon getting a wand of Death Ward costing 21,000 gp, like Mort recommended, or is there something else that would work better?

as for a plan:

I still like the idea of doing a little reconing first. We are going in with out Geist. Are we still considering drawing guards and minions toward us and bushwhacking them? Einar still hasn't got to use the Maxim... "Hey boys, hurry! Run down that hallway after the lemming, ignore that piece of machinery sitting in the doorway down there, it's nothing to worry about!"

OK, just reread this: Fair warning it's done in poor humor, no offence meant, Mort :-)
Maybe we should have a silence spell. That way no one can shout loud enough for the whole fort to hear the warning about a guy with a gun coming and they should kill him first.

Or better yet we all dress in our chemical suits and carry guns so they don't know which 'soldier with a gun' to shoot at, as soon as we walk into the door.

ooohhhhh, we still have the grenades right, Baba Yaga didn't say we had to leave the place in good shape.

Sorry, I digress, a plan would be good. edit: Not that "Kill 'em all and let Pharasma sort 'em out." isn't one of Einars favorite plans. But he would like to do something where he isn't one of the ones that she's sorting...

I bought 5 copies of Mind Blank -- one for each of us. It has a 24 hour duration and gives +8 resistance to spells and SLA. It also prevents divinations.

I filled out my polymorph spellbook. If someone wants to become a dragon or something, let me know.

I'm still trying to figure out exactly what spells I will be preparing.

I'm going to suggest we leave early in the morning Day 6 (the day after people return) with everyone having slept in the area covered by the private sanctum. That way I can prevent them from scrying when we leave.

Still trying to work out details, but I've also got to prepare for my PbP game for PbP Gameday. That starts this Saturday.

Silence is rounds/level, also 20ft radius.

And mindblank foils both trueseeing and see invisibility so for most purposes you can gawk around without being noticed.

Pbp prep.. Eh I had this prepared months ago.

My motto: Don't leave anything you can do today, till tomorrow.

I would volunteer to help you prep(maps), except I don't own that mod. And it is an offence for you to pass me the mod(except via way of gift through Paizo).

I also learnt that with hordes of the same creatures it is a good idea to color border them so it makes for easier targeting on players end. (I hit red etc)

I would just say give the boxed text in the mod(if they're nice enough to give that) - since PFS has rather strict rules of running exactly as written.

Note that somewhere in the PFS guide it said GMs can change tactics if the players actions render the written tactic not make sense at all.

-Like what's the use of casting reverse gravity when everyone is flying/air-walking?

-Or trying to hide under a table when someone just slapped you with glitterdust for - 20 to stealth checks.

-Or casting a spell when the druid's big cat companion has you grappled.

About preparing dialogues...yes and no, since players will respond to dialogues in ways you cannot predict, so sometimes it's just better to let things flow naturally.

Perhaps the initial venture captain briefing where he briefs them about the place, tells them what to look out for, yes. After that probably just interact with players normally.

Also if they didn't give descriptions of rooms then probably get ready to write up some(which I personally s**K at), though generally players need to know if there is DT, cover, how far the bad guys are from them, height of celling(for those happy fliers, usually not in low level games). And oh, of course if the bad guys are flying/above, how high are they above ground. And if they're above ground, how to get to them (ladder?)

Question for Greta: Any interest in turning into a dragon?

I'm trying to select the last of my spells. I don't want to waste a spell slot if she will not take the transformation.

Firstly, can dragons use Lucerne hammers? Eh.. Iffy business.

Secondly, NPCs should not hog up too much of PC higher level slots, in case they need it for something else.

If you want to prepare it - go for form of the dragon 2 or 3, otherwise, 4 armed gargoyle is still better.

My character is at it's best when they have someone to transform. It is what this archetype does!

I was looking at Form of the Dragon III or Greater Angelic Form.

Greater angelic aspect gives better group utility, while dragon form for bonuses and DR is better for Greta in question.

what is Greater Angelic Form? How could it help Einar if he was raging, would he still be able to enlarge and stuff like that?

Guess I'll decide tomorrow. I need to double-check I did the updates correctly.

BTW, went for +2 Dex since I wasn't sure it would stack with the mantle. Was tempted to go Charisma.

Which second bonus with what mantle?

I mean if Einar keeps what he has as far as bloodrager class feats and just gives up 'tiefling' race traits I would consider the 'angelic form'

You don't lose any tiefling traits or natural attacks. BTW guys I may be a bit slow as I'm like on a massive cooking spree. I just made osmanthus jelly and cooked spaghetti and next I'm going to bake banana muffins...

On Sunday it's my family's 7th month praying session so I made jelly for it.

The osmanthus jelly looks delicious, it reminds me of what we call Jell-O, but I think that is just the brand name, I think the food name maybe gelatin. So the main flavor is osmanthus flowers and wolfberries?

They both have the same effect but they are different gelling agents. I've used gelatin, but it was to make mango pudding

Which I don't make these days because I can't find mangoes that are up to my exacting standards. (They must be both sweet and fragrant, and not fibrous)

I used to use Australian mangoes, but these days the Australian mangoes that are available just aren't as good as they used to be...

This is ice jelly.

It's made from the gel of the seeds of a variety of fig.

The advantage is that ice jelly is vegetarian, where gelatin (which is usually made from beef bones, is not).

Its easier to extract gelatin from beef bones because they are larger.

A lot of Chinese here also don't eat beef. I usually don't bother to enlighten my friends where gelatin really comes from.

Afterall, all I have is speculations(nothing confirmed) , and ignorance is bliss.

hhhhmmmm, ice jelly, I would think with the growing population of vegetarians in the states that there would be a market for a similar product.

Of course it depends on how easy it would be to get creeping figs, I assume it takes on the flavor of whatever you put in it instead of tasting like figs?

Actually depending on what brand of ice jelly powder you buy. I used holy farms ice jelly powder and its all fine. I tried redman brand previously but there was some weird taste. Which is a pity because holly farms comes with sugar added in and honestly I find it a tad too sweet...

You see the issue here is that we're a multi racial society - so if you want your gelatin to reach as many people as possible - it has to be halal. If it is halal - clearly you cannot get gelatin from pork bones or pork skin, so the only other big animal is probably the cow...

And I bet if you made gelatin out of fish, it'd get a fishy taste.

I wonder how many chicken bones you'd need to boil to get the gelatin, not to mention not THAT many people eat mutton so I don't think there would be that many mutton bones around.

Anyway my muffins are in the oven so I can talk shop now =)

Actually I think with gelatin you get softer jellies, while with ice jelly powder you get a slight chewy feel to your jellies.

For those who are wondering where +8 AC is coming from:

Attacks from Land: Characters swimming, floating, or treading water on the surface, or wading in water at least chest deep, have improved cover (+8 bonus to AC, +4 bonus on Reflex saves) from opponents on land. Land-bound opponents who have freedom of movement effects ignore this cover when making melee attacks against targets in the water. A completely submerged creature has total cover against opponents on land unless those opponents have freedom of movement effects. Magical effects are unaffected except for those that require attack rolls (which are treated like any other effects) and fire effects.

Croc is not totally submerged.

Yeah - if she takes damage from magical fire, the helm might go nuclear.

That thing is dangerous, and should be kept in a sack.

The spear, though, she can definitely take :-)

I remember looking at the map thinking 'good thing Crummock killed him, Einar couldn't have gotten to him.' But now that I think about it Einar could have cast 'cheetah sprint' and gotten there, as long as he would have raged first.

So rage, cast, move, could have happened in one move action. Could he have drawn the symbol like a weapon as a free action or would he have had to use a 'move action' to draw it? Two move actions would have finished the round and Rasputin would have gotten away anyway...
